Official Artwork Resources/Websites List

If you have contributions to the thread, Email me with them and I will add them.

Everybody likes official Capcom/SNK/Sammy/whatever artwork. But it’s hard to find good quality images. I figured i’d start a thread of good gallery websites and maybe if everyone shares, we can all find stuff we’ve been looking for. Official artwork requests come up all the time on this forum, so maybe this will help that.

Sprite Rips

http://emugif.emu-zone.org/
It’s back up and might fall down.

  • Layout is more detailed and organized than Fighter’s Generation. Has organized some sections down to moves, specials, air moves, crouching moves etc.
  • Has a wide selection of fighting and side scrolling sprites. Even some GBA and other console sprites.
  • Animated BGs of most fighters
  • Some games are not as detailed as more recently released game sections.
  • Some games are not completed for character selection as of now.
  • KOF section is only specific to KOF 2003 and any KOF beforehand is very stingy on the actual sprites.

Astral Vision: Darkstalkers Resource Centre
http://darkstalkers.confusticated.com/frames.html

  • Has quite a few sprites to pick from, but not as large as other areas
  • Lots of information on characters
  • Few sprites
  • BGs are only small snapshots, not the entire BG area

Zazz’s GGXX sprites
http://sfvds.highervoltage.net/

  • Lots of GGXX sprites already ripped for your enjoyment
  • Quite random on selection as well few animated ones

MIDIANWEB.it
http://www.midianweb.it/gif/gif_index.htm

  • Easy access to sprites
  • Down and dirty easy way to get fighter sprites
  • Oraganized pretty well but not greatly
  • Few sprites to choose from
  • No Street Fighter sprites or KOF sprites period

Puar’s Place
http://www.confusticated.com/sprites_01.html

  • Mishmash of a variety of fighters
  • Fairly organized
  • Each character usually has only a few sprites and a few in game screenshots related to them
  • Not much selection

Mugen Stuff: A lot of the sprites have been ripped for you but just not in animated GIF form. If you download Mugen Character Maker, you can easily “extract” frames and sprites of mugen characters. Quite often these packages are very complete, spanning an entire sprites career (such as KOF Kyo from 99 - 2002 or Iori from 96 - 2003).

And not just moves, it includes fireballs, energy waves, game specific bars (not all, but some), hit sparks, taunts, special intros, win poses and even hit frames.

Below are two websites that essentially have all the characters you would want in mugen form. But be warned, not all your fav characters are there, for some sites either went down or never got around to making that character. They also have BGs availble as well.

http://www.sfgalleries.net/

Huge SF art site covers pretty much every SF and the Capcom crossovers and more.

O.K. I looked in every single one of the links above and I could not find a Sprite of Bone-Claw Wolverine from Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

If anybody could find, or rip me one I would be greatly appreciative. It could be any kind of animation as long as it shows his Bone-Claws (NOT the Adamantium Claws!!!)

Thank you.

Joram’s SF3:3S sprites (new URL)

seems like the alpha sprite packs quiche posted have gone offline. there a backup anywhere?
