lol sorry bout that, but hey, it got you to put some work in eh? But your old team is pretty solid, only thing id do is switch it to nova/strider/taskmaster, yea strider is a better anchor(when he has x-factor at least) but taskmaster can’t really do much with vajra whereas strider can do a lot with taskmaster. Plus task is gonna be your main neutral assist when your playing nova and personally I don’t like having my main neutral assist second in case I get two for oned and my point character dies leaving my second character to come in losing 90 percent health.
How do you guys feel about Vergil/Trish/Felicia (Rapidslash, Low Voltage, Sandsplash)
I was running Vergil/Felicia/Hawkeye which was probably better but I really like Trish and Felicia anchor…
I’d say replace Felicia’s assist with either Rolling Buckler or Cat Spike to create mixups for Vergil since you got Trish with low voltage covering Vergil’s approach, It’s not a bad team.
Every team with Wesker anchor is basically a 2 anchor team. Your 2nd spot gets unblockable setups and easymode combo extensions but as far as approaches and shit, your 2nd spot is on his/her own.
Level 4 Wesker is still scary as shit though despite what people say to downplay his effectiveness.
I recently picked up UMvC3 and I’m loving it. I want to get good at it or at least decent. The thing I’m having problems with is making a good team. I really like playing skrull and dorm but i dunno if i want them on the same team right now. I’m also interest in nova, RR, IF, IM, Ryu, vergil, and dante(but i dont have the best execution right now) but I’m open to any char except i kinda wanted to stay away from doom and sentinel because i used them a lot in vanilla. Any help would be appreciated.
When making a team if you can know your character’s weakness and pick assists that would cover the character’s weakness (For example you want to play Iron Fist he’ll need something to cover his approach a beam assist or something that takes up the horizontal space, and an assist that can help him get hits such as Frank West shopping cart or a low hitting assist to create mixups).
Skrull and Dorm can work since Dark Hole can lockdown the opponent a bit giving Skrull time to pressure the opponent. I’ll to suggests some teams for you list of characters you want to play. (They may not be the best though if you don’t like them just experiment around)
Skrull (Tenderizer or Stone Smite)/IM(Unibeam), RR (Double Spitfire or Pendulum), Ryu(Hadouken)/Dorm (Dark Hole)
Vergil(Rapid Slash)/IM (Unibeam) or RR (Double Spitfire or Pendulum)/ Dorm (Dark Hole)->Vergil needs an assist to cover his teleport approaches.
Dante(Jam Session or Weasel Shot)/Vergil (Rapid Slash)/Dorm (Dark Hole)
Iron Fist (Rising Fang)/IM(Unibeam), RR (Double Spitfire or Pendulum), Ryu(Hadouken)/Dorm (Dark Hole)->The assists should help cover IF’s weakness though not the best.
RR(Pendulum)/IM (Unibeam) or Ryu (Hadouken)/Dorm (Dark hole)-> RR needs something to cover his teleports and Iron Man’s unibeam can do it best, Ryu’s Hadouken helps to cover his approach also. Dorm is last so if the first two were to fall Dorm can try to make a comeback.
Its a shame you don’t wanna play doom or sentinel because I think missiles and drones would help skrull and dorm out immensely. With that out of the way though, both characters get a lotta mileage outta strong horizontal assists, so you could tag in taskmaster/hawkeye/magneto/akuma at the end there. Of all the above I think akuma and magneto are the best anchors but for someone who is picking up the game I think taskmaster and hawkeye would be easier to play.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m playing around with skrull/IM/dorm right now and its pretty fun. I think ima stick with skrull but im not sure about dorm right now. I really want to find a way to create a good nova team.
i completely forgot about taskmaster, i used to play him alot in vanilla. Honestly im not against doom and sentinel i just wanna try out some new team setups. I might throw one of them on the team if i cant get IM working. Like i said above, i might drop dorm and try to put nova on there some how. I know Nova does good with horizontal assists, but does it matter if its a fast beam or a some assist like sentinels?
Hey guys! I’m new at playing UMvC3 and I just have a few questions about my team. I really like Doom (Hidden Missiles), Morrigan (Vector Drain), and Phoenix (TK Overdrive). I don’t know how good they go together as a team. I’ve tried out Amaterasu (Solar Flare) but I just couldn’t get the hang of her. I don’t care about not using Morrigan or Phoenix, but I know that I want to use Doom. Are there any suggestions on who I should use with Doom and who compliments him with assists and such? Any and every piece of advice is appreciated! Thanks ahead of time!!! 
Well with skrull, nova and dorm you can work with either, a fast horizontal assist makes for very fast cross ups with dorm and skrull, and I see dj houshen use tasks arrows(which are relatively fast) to combo off some of his more unique un-cancelable normals(like his :f::f::f::h: ) but on the flip side a slow assist like drones allows for more mix-ups(for all 3) and makes meteor smashes completely safe(as far I know, don’t rly play skrull). Point is though, s’long as its a good horizontal assist, you can make it work.
Doom in general should be played second but if you want to play him on point that can work too. For your first team you should replace Phoenix with someone else since Morrigan is reliant on meter (the hyper gauge) to fill the screen with projectiles. ( :qcf::l:–>:qcb::s:–>:qcf::h:–>:qcb::s: ) and repeat it takes a while to get down so keep practicing that and combos.) For the first team you’ll want someone that can keep opponents away (Akuma’s Tatsumaki, Amaterasu’s Cold Star, Haggar’s Latriat are some examples). If you want to stick with the first team you can go Morrigan (Dark Harmonizer)/Doom (Missiles)/Akuma (Tatsu)
Since you want to use Doom on point he will benefit from a lockdown assist (something to keep the opponent in place going back to the previous example (Akuma’s Tatsumaki, Amaterasu’s Cold Star, Dormammu’s Dark Hole, Frank West’s Shopping Cart, Sentinel’s Charge (Type A). And something to cover his approach like a beam assist (Magneto’s Disruptor, Iron Man’s Unibeam, Hawkeye’s Greyhound Shot) or an assist that can give him more mixups (To keep the opponent guessing) to open up the opponent such as (Wesker’s Samurai Edge, Deadpool’s Quick Work, Nova’s Centurion Rush). Experiment around and see what you like, hopefully this helps.
im messing around with strider and he is pretty fun. using dorm(dark hole)/doom(beam)/strider(vajra) and it seems pretty good. would strider work well with skrull or nova?

I’m loving my team of Chun-Li, Ironman and Strider.
I originally used Chun (kicks), Ironman (Repulser), Strider (Vajra) but have been messing around with the order.
I like strider last because he can make Xfactor3 comebacks no problem but he can also work on point with chun and ironman (unibeam).
Chun is hard to place, she works as anchor except part of the cast can run away from her.
Ironman can pretty much go anywhere, point, second, anchor and can use both unibeam and repulser.
As far as DHC all 3 work pretty well together too
I want to know what you guys think about order and assist. I think it works with all 3 on point or anchor but I’m sure i"m missing some strategic reasoning to my team order.

This really helped a lot! I think that I’m going to put Doom second and Phoenix as anchor. I was thinking about trying out Frank West, but I think that he should be used as anchor. So if I go with, Doom (Hidden Missiles), Morrigan (Dark Harmonizer), and Frank West as anchor, how do you think that would do? I played around with Dr.Strange last night and he was actually pretty fun. How do you feel about him? And how do you feel about Hawk Eye? Thank you for the reply!

Hey guys I need help with a team I’ve been experimenting with: Wolverine/Iron Fist/Frank West my assists are: Berserker Barrage/Rising Fang/Shopping Cart. The problem is I don’t know who I want to put on the anchor spot(between Iron Fist and Frank) the team has alot of synergy.
I need help finding any synergy between Wolverine(B.Slash)/Hulk(G.Wave)/Vergil(R.Slash)
With Vergil, I can use Hulk to start an OTG combo with F+H, and use Wolverine to follow up with the second otg. I know its real scrubby, but i just started playing these characters altogether.
I can do the same with Wolverine, except without Vergil to follow up on the second OTG
Does anyone know how to use theses characters together? all help is appreciated
Hey everyone, I’m relatively new to the online fighting… stuff. I’m looking for some assistance. Up to this point I’ve been using Task(Horizontal)/V.Joe(Shocking Pink)/Felicia(SandSplash) in that order. I’ve been using Taskmaster for quite some time now, so I don’t have much plans on axing him. I’d like to think I can clean up pretty well with Felicia in a pinch, so I’d prefer her to stay too. Though I’ve learned a couple tricks with Viewtiful Joe, I sometimes feel he’s just there to fill in a spot. The assists of the latter two are mainly for OTG purposes when Task’s on point.
Any edits to the team I already have, or a couple character recommendations would be much appreciated. But I ask that Doom, Magneto, Sent, Wesker, Skrull, and Vergil are left out of the running.
