Just tried Vergil anchor for the first time.
LOL FUCK THIS CHARACTER.
Doing all his missions made me salty enough to hate Vergil immediately
Still new to this game but mostly play Tekken and Blazblue, so iām fairly experienced with fighting games except this game. Looking to get some pointers for a possible team:
Trying to see if itās possible to put Vergil and Jill into a team as I found both to be interesting characters to use.
I donāt really have a focus for this team as Iām still fairly new to this gameās mechanics and speed, so many team possibilites itās hard to stay strictly with just one. The most I know about this possible combination is that Vergil can be pretty power hungry due to Devil Trigger and Spiral Swords. With that in mind, Iām thinking of putting Vergil on anchor.
So my real question is what would be a good 3rd member for this team and is this valid or not?

Well it depends on what you mean by a 100 percent keepaway team, if you have a keep away team that can turn full screen hits into anywhere between 400k and a dead character I think youāll do just fine. Thats why chris gās team is so lethal, you get hit by one fireball and you lose 50 percent, and this is overlooking the fact she can get a full combo off some of her fireballs. Thats why hawkeye is such a lethal keepaway character, he can convert hits from full screen into significant damage.
Plus you need to be able to make people afraid of raw tagging, people tend to raw tag out to preserve their characters since most people canāt punish from that range. But if you have a team that can, like the aforementioned morrigan team, your all good.
If you wanna make a keepaway team, and you like playing sentinel and dormammu, you 2/3rd of the way to a solid team. Add a dr doom type character to the mix and your well on your way.
I really like this strategy actually, but the only thing is that I really like Ammy on point because I like to use the Eye of Agamatto assist while pinning somebody down to get in a lot of chip damage (and if you time it right when they fall down and roll out its unblockable with Ammyās forward h and you can push them into the eye of agamatto which will then be unblockable and then you can rinse and repeat(some new tech I found possibly?))
Although Iām gonna try out your suggestion and see how that goes which actually does make a lot of sense now and I guess I can change my Ammy gameplan if it really does help that much (I need to start learning to use that Sword more, but its really hard to weapon switch in mid-combo lol)
Iām thinking about playing Wolverine/someone/Dr. Doom, and I need some suggestions on who to pick for the second slot.
The more I think about it the more Iām not sure. So Iāve broken it down to characters I maybe want to play and characters I donāt want to play. Everyone else that isnāt on these lists Iām not really sure about, and Iām open to ideas and suggestions, since Iām still a newb.

-Iron Man (repulsor blast assist)
-Vergil (fairly simple and good combos)
-Ammy (cold star assist)
-Super Skrull (tenderizer assist and INFERNO!)
-Tron (I just like her as a character)
-Storm (ice storm, if only I could nail those fly combos)

I realize that I just basically listed half the cast >.> But thatās why I need suggestions. Also these lists are by no means definitive, there are lots of characters I didnāt really like at release and slowly started liking more, or other characters that Iāve been excited about playing but no so much anymore.
Iāve wanted to use Tron or Ammy since before mvc3 came out (I did not get mvc3, but waited for umvc3). But now Tronās assist isnāt that great, and I still want to play Wolverine on point. Also for whatever reason playing as a dog isnāt as exciting as Iād thought itād be. I like having human-like characters.
My execution isnāt that great, so thatās why sometimes I just fill in the second spot with Vergil, I like his bubble sword super a lot (yes thatās what I call it).
I also realize that for wolverine it would be useful to have a combo extender assist, but I still have a hard time getting my head around using assists in the middle of combos and how to execute them smoothly. And even if I get a combo extender assist, I still want to have fun playing as that character. So like for Iron Man, I like his assist, but Iām not comfortable playing as Iron Man.
just starting to get back into this game. I used to play Vergil/Doom/Wesker, but I donāt want to play Wesker anymore and Vergil seems like a character picked too much by online scrubsā¦
Anyway I want to play a ?/Doom(beam?)/Ammy(coldstar) team who would you reccommend as my point characterā¦ I donāt want the character to be very execution heavy considering I am an ONLINE WARRIOR but Iām not a total noob on execution, I could do Vergil combos and Doomās Vanilla THC but donāt want to learn Zeroās loops or C.Viper
Personally Iām thinking Spencer? Taskmaster? Captain America or a keepaway character like Deadpool (although I would prefer not him, canāt stand his voice), or Trish?
Iām having a lot of trouble learning this game. My team composition is generally Felicia/xxx/Dormammu or She-Hulk/xxx/Dormammu, with xxx being any of the following: Nemesis, Hulk, Sentinel, Firebrand. However I havenāt found much luck with any of these combinations and I keep getting stomped online. I have yet to try Firebrand extensively.
In general I donāt think Iām doing the right things and have a lot of trouble maintaining combos and landing them. I keep falling for incredibly stupid frame traps and constantly find my normals getting outclassed by everybody, and I can never seem to hitconfirm anything (particularly Feliciaās rolling bucker slide into st. LMHS, it always misses). I keep finding that my inputs are always dropped or made in error and it may be because of my stick which is really crappy and sometimes doesnāt even register a button press.
If someone could help me learn this game thatād be great. My gamertag on XBL is KashaPsychoJosh. I think Iāll go back to pad for now because I miss being able to do a basic hadoken motion and not a fucking dash.
Fucking square gates. I donāt know how in the world people donāt think theyāre a massive inconvenience.

From there you can slot any char in. J.Wong likes Storm in the middle and thereās some good footage of him playing that team vs. Chris G from not too long ago if you search it on youtube.
My team is Zero (a), Hawkeye (a), Wesker (b).

I donāt play Hawkeye or Wesker, but Iād recommend that you switch it to Zero/Wesker/Hawkeye, because Wesker with Hawkeyeās Greyhound assist is much, much better than Hawkeye with Weskerās assist.
Hello everyone. Iām certainly open to help and suggestions on what team I should use. Here is a list of characters that Iād say am more than proficient with:
Spencer, Doctor Doom, Strider, Crimson Viper, Chris, Frank West, Nova, Hawkeye, Dante, and Magneto
Honestly, Iād like to use a team that could use both C. Viper and Spencer on team, but I cant seem to find an anchor character, or a character in general to fill the slot. Iām also open to using any new characters excluding Phoenix, Wesker, and Vergil. Thanks guys.
give me the team that you are using, and** replace one** of the characters with one of the characters you wouldāve liked to use. I use Nova/TaskMaster/S.Hiryu, but am going for an overhaul since I havenāt played this game in a long time. I feel as if it is best to start over again. also can you rate my team?
yea he coudl play Hawkeye anchor but than he wouldnāt have lvl 4 dark wesker anchor pretty much a team of its own
I used to use Hawkeye as an anchor, but I realized Wesker anchor is much much better.

Dark Wesker really isnāt all that good once you get to a reasonable level of play and comfort playing against him, especially offline where you can easily react to his solo stuff. Heās genuinely more of a threat backed by a good assist because firstly his teleport mixups have an assist with them, meaning they become a complete guess as to which side you must block when he does them, and secondly in level 2 XF he kills characters just as easily as in level 3.
Having an assist character backup your first 2 characters is always going to be better than having your first character backed up and then the second character not really getting anything out of the 3rd character behind him (if you get me), especially when a simple team order switch means the team functions better as a whole. But then again, you are obviously free to choose 
Look, the issue with hawkeye/wesker is, your pretty much running two anchors, weskers assist does absolutely nothing for hawkeye, like literally, there are few pairing in the game that offer less for the point character than hawkeye/wesker. Besides anchor hawkeye is no slouch, he takes a little more work than wesker, but placing him on anchor makes your team better because he always affects the match, whereas wesker only affects the match when he is on the field. What happens if wesker gets mixed up on the way in and dies before he can even activate? Thats pretty much a waste of a slot, whereas even if it happens to haweye, atleast he helped your team out before he hit the field. Plus wesker with a horizontal assist like hawkeyes is unbelievably dirty, quick as spit cross ups, dirty tick throws, I donāt even wanna imagine.
But like spartan said, your free to choose how you wanna play, but imo, youād be doing yourself a massive disservice running it in that order.
wesker, this wesker, that. use Hulk. hes not only simple, but hes alot of fun with hawkeye. I labbed a few hours with the guide and forums since these ppl are ignoring my request. I dont see anything wrong with you original team. seems annoying to me which is a good thing
