I think I might of found it… I wanted a beastly hawkeye + missles team and I couldn’t find a really good xf3 anchor with a complimentary assist. Hawkeye/Doom/Akuma. Obviously to get punks off you and you can also dead arrow them when tatsu hits them. Seems you can spam missles with Doom and use the Akuma assist when hawkeye is out to avoid projectiles directed at you ala drones.

I’m still testing Vergil anchor with rapid slash but that is susceptible to getting bonked before it activation and question his anchor abilities and doesn’t seem to compliment Doom a lot.

More testing to be done. I’d like to engineer something like the Chris G Morri + missles tomfoolery or the something simply ridiculous.

What do you guys think of a team that consists of

Dorm(Dark Hole)/Vergil(Rapid Slash)/Hawkeye(Greyhound) ?

What order would you rock, and is it a pretty solid squad?

I know Vergil and Dorm and Hawk all uses up a lot of meter and stuff, but Hawk’s assist helps both of them pretty well.

Im not much of an expert on umvc3. So i was wondering if i could get some help. The team i use is x-23, trish, spencer. I was just wondering if i could get feedback on assists to use and overall synergy. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Sentinel sounds like it would be good. With the amount of zoning Morrigan provides, his assist would be pretty solid on a team like that, though it would be very zoning oriented when Morrigans out. I hear she can combo of a Soul Fist somehow though, so if someone gets clipped by a drone or a soul fist you’re in.

Wesker is just cheap with Sentinel too. They have to block for so long because of Sentinel assist that it gives you time to setup a teleport (or a Jaguar Dash) mix up. Sentinels come back factor on level 3 x-factor is no joke either.

Another advantage to that team (as Viscant likes to put it) is that Wesker doesn’t have to waste a lot of meter for damaging combos. In fact, I find that most of the time it’s not even worth it to burn a bar to do his Maximum Wesker (assuming the glasses are already off). This allows for Morrigan/Sentinel, a meter reliant character in my eyes, to come in and do serious shit backed up by Sentinel/Morrigan ala’ zoning.

Wesker can fit into every team. He can set up a few unblockables with Nemesis (Samurai Edge), I know that for sure. Chris I’m not to familiar with, but I’m sure you can make something happen with the Jaguar Dash assist and Chris’s grenades. A frame trap at least.

Ghost Rider I wouldn’t reccomend last on any team. He’s too slow and predictable, and without assist he leaves himself open more than I’d like to for the last character on the team.

Dooms another all around solid character even without an assist. His combos might be a bit frustrating if you’re just starting the game, but none the less he’s a good character. He can control the horizontal axis for zoning if you need it, and his bread and butter pretty much builds enough meter to kill almost any character if you combo into level 3. Coupled with Christ and Nemesis, his hidden missle assist will help you lock down in areas where you normally wouldn’t be able to do because neither of them really have anything to control vertical space. Hidden Missles will keep them locked down. Or even Plasma beam to add more pressure horizontally.

Dorm is good for almost the same reason Doom is. He has a lot of setups when on Point, and can make a lot of meter when he’s last on the team. Against, it’s all preference of character as these two guys are pretty much going to be doing the same thing on either team. The huge difference between the two is that Dorm is more of a zoner and Doom is more of a rushdown. Dorm also has a teleport, which your team lacks. Always something to consider.

All the characters you mentioned have a lot of life, so you have room for boo-boos anyway you go. Ultimately, the decisions up to you.

I’d go with Doom though.

Hawk, Nova and Doom would be solid. You can get Novas assist which is extremely helpful with Hawkeye. You can triple arrow, Nova assist into a crumble and you get a free combo. Or you can put Nova point and Hawk second and have poison arrow coupled with Dooms Hidden missle so that Nova can control both aspects.
Nova takes a bit of getting used to to use though. Lots of flight cancel stuff.

For free unblockables you can use start Trish and use her tracking super to keep the opponent in hitstun, then switch in spencer for overhead/ankle slicer combinations. Trish is a very good point character and X23 loves XF2 (in combination of spencer’s grapple hook for mixups).

Impressive, though I don’t agree with Felicia last. I prefer Dante. But that’s just me.

Nah I think Felicia is a way better anchor than Dante for a few reasons:

[LIST]
[]Trying to get in as him without assists is really risky. I didn’t think it was like that on paper but in a real match it’s really difficult to mixup someone up as him without getting air thrown. Drones helps tremendously. Almost every time I get somebody to block Drones, I get a hit because it’s so overwhelming.
[
]Felicia feels way faster than Dante in XF3 so that helps.
[]Kitty Helper unblockables.
[
]You can’t advancing guard her.
[]She can combo off of grabs in XF and out of it.
[
]Better solo mixup.
[]Just as much damage as Dante, if not more than him if they’re both alone.
[
]I wasn’t using as many assists to extend combos with her as Dante.

My main team is Firebrand (Demon Missile-Swoop) / Akuma (Tatsu) / Morrigan (Harmonizer). Main strat is to build so much meter for Akuma so that the opponent will fear calling out an assist.

So after reading all that I spent some time in the lab with Felicia. I completely agree. Delta Kick is probably one of the best moves in the game imo. That shit is disgusting mixup potential.

That team is relatively low life, not enough space for booboos. I also don’t like Firebrand first as it doesn’t allow for DHC into his install, which is something that he needs imo. Akuma and Morrigan both accomplish the same thing as the third character, and Akuma doesn’t really have a lot of life, so I’d consider changing him out for like Ryu or something. Little harder to use, but he has a bit more life and his install is pretty nasty in itself (Like 1m+ damage with 2 meters of a BnB nasty).

The latest team set-up that I’m considering is ??? (???)/Morrigan (???)/Dr. Doom (missiles). The reason I chose Doom and Morrigan is because they’re both reasonably versatile. I’ve wanted to make a combined zoning/rushdown team since I’ve had the game, and these two seem to have what it takes to achieve this set-up. Doom seems to be my best option as an anchor. However, I’m in need of a solid point character. Not necessarily one that’s as versatile as these two, but one that plays well with them both and has a good DHC option. I could settle for either extreme as far as playstyle.

MODOK.

Thank you for your feedback Bunchies. You are correct, there’s little room for error with this team. I will try Ryu out, his install hyper seems interesting but I have never looked into it because Akuma is easier to play and I like Akuma more. I like Firebrand too and I am slowly trying to figure him out, he’s got low health too.

What do you guys think of Chris/Nemesis/Wesker? Or Wesker/Nemesis/Chris?

I currently don’t have access to the game, and this is really causing me trouble while trying to think of a team to play at sessions. I don’t have training mode, so I can’t really practice combos, but most of the characters I’m interested in need some training mode to get stuff down.

Right now, for a simpler team to play as, I’m thinking of Captain America(shield slash), _____, Ryu(Hurricane Kick). Is there any suggestions for who would do well in that second spot?

He’s a lot of fun to use, but a lot of people consider him low tier. Just don’t listen to em and keep at it.

Honestly, unless your Justin Wong, I wouldn’t pick a team with under 2.3million life.

X-23 is my main and I usually have no problems finding a solid backup for her, but I can never pick a third character to round it out. So I either get stuck in situations where X-23 dies and my middle character isn’t properly supported, or situations where I’m left with a poor anchor. I need two characters who will not only help X-23, but will be fine if she dies.

I like using Captain America, Thor, Dormammu, Hulk, Hawkeye, Ghost Rider, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Frank, Nemesis, Wright, Morrigan, and Trish. What do you guys think is the best combination there?

X-23/Haweye/Dorm would be pretty good.

I’m starting to like Trish/Ryu/Sentinel. is this a good synergetic team and/or what assists are good for this team?

That’s a pretty good idea. Would Hawkeye benefit more from Dorm assist than Dorm would from Hawkeye assist though?
