Yeah its already been seen, think that was the last piece of AE juri footage ive seen in awhile though.
No one really puts time into fse. When fse is on, juri is a complete new characte with new setups and new combos with more poking range and has a deadlier corner game. I’ve always been a supporter of this ultra and how you shouldn’t change how you play that much… Rather it should be used to just enhance your playstyle.
Not to go off topic but it will be very negligent by a juri player to not spent time with this ultra in ae to re evaluate… Not only the combos but the matchups.
Theres not much of us man, if i had to count the amount of active users on this forum alone it would still be a 1 digit number. Then its like, whos going to be the one to test FSE and post the results here. Theres no saying people are negligent not testing ultra 1 setups since the circumstances are; you have to pull your setups that might not come out on the spot and if you lose you have to wait to play again for an indefinite amount of time and lose your money. I can see why they might feel the safety net of standard U1 shenanigans or U2 damage, because no one wants to play for 3 mins and then wait to try again and lose your money because you fucked up an ultra setup that might not even exist.
Alot of any new tech we might have will probably end up been seen and tested properly in training mode on a console release of the current build. We’re probably just going to have to be patient and praise our good fortune should we get any good news along the way.
Hi!!
What a sad hitbox. Looks very easy to beat.
^^ far.st.mk was able to beat out long range dive kicks 100% of the time
Too bad it doesn’t matter when he’s vortexing you with it on wakeup.
block > divekicks on wakeup. counter > divekicks on wakeup (using it sparingly of course).
his crossup divekicks arent THAT ambiguous…theyre blockable for sure.
its not Akuma’s vortex were talking about here. just divekicks, and theyre not even as good as rufus’
aren’t they just as good? i heard he can cross you up and even delay the dive as well as change the trajectory of the dive depending on the button used. people was like it’s just as solid. but with that being said, blocking is never a bad option.
From what I’ve heard it’s pretty hard to combo off their dive kick, people needed to hit it pretty low to keep the combo going. It also has a higher height restriction than Rufus’s, so I don’t really think it’s THAT good. It’s a decent dive kick, yes, but it doesn’t seem like it will be the main tool of their game.
Yang’s dive kick seems like it can be really dangerous during Seiei Enbu, though.
Yun can cross up relatively well with them, Yang seems to have difficulty for some reason. They can change the trajectory of the dive based on what strength kick is used, but on wakeup it doesnt make a huge difference. Either way you can usually tell when its going to cross up and when it wont. honestly i feel that they are similar to cammy’s SUPER (not AE) divekicks moreso than rufus, the difference being that cammy is scarier damage output / stun wise (when the twins dont have super ). I dont know, I wasnt having a ton of trouble dealing with divekicks from Yun honestly…first off he has to get in. Juri can keep him out relatively well (if you play smart). Secondly, once Juri knocks down Yun, you get a free meaty on his wakeup EVERY TIME. Also, believe me when i say that Yun players seem to respect and fear FSE just as much as other characters respect and fear Genei Jin. Once i activated that shit they didnt want to have anything to do with me. Knockdown + FSE Active = scared Yun. He cant reversal or backdash, hes forced to block a meaty, and Juri gets a free follow up whatever she wants. Once you condition them to not reversal on wakeup, you can easily throw in meaty FSE sekku’s and get a free combo. Nice.
Sorry i kinda went off on a tangent lol
I’m a huge supporter of relying on blocking, but I have to say blocking is not that great when it’s the only option you have against a 50/50. There is absolutely no reason for Yun not to go for that 50/50 every time on your wakeup. And relying on EX Counter isn’t very consistent since people will also do empty dive into commandthrow for a nice combo.
And it’s not easy to block against someone who knows how to make it ambiguous, that’s like saying xup jumps are easy to block before you have played against someone that truly makes you have to guess between front or behind.
Every ambiguous 50/50 divekick on wakeup leads into another c.mp, st.mp x dragonkicks which loops the situation, even if they go for it once and you choose to not tech, they get to go for it again so there is really no escape from the situation. If you can see the difference between in front or behind of something that is decided only on what button they choose to press, then you have godlike reactions.
Having meaty c.mk against his regular wakeups (non-ex/ex) is great, have you tested it against his ultras?
^^Surprisingly the Yuns i played didnt throw out any wakeup ultras so im not sure if meaty cr.mk will make his ultras whiff or not.
meaty cr.mk DOES make yangs U1 whiff completely though. pretty sweet.
like i said, im going back to UFO within the next few days. Ill test out meaty cr.mk vs Yuns ultras for yall.
Any other requests that havent already been addressed ? Anyone ?
Yuuup. This is pretty much the case w/ me. Not to mention, I feel U2 is better against the twins and that’s like 50% of the characters I end up going up against =\
As for Yuns dive kicks, don’t let the small hit box deceive you. It’s pretty fast and difficult to AA on reaction up close. I had it trade w/ cr.mp in some cases. If he does it from afar, you can st.mk/cr.mp on reaction pretty easily.
@ Kouryuu
Try U1 vs Yun. You get free meaties on his wakeup anyway, if you have U1, it just makes it that much more scary for him. Just somethin to try. for me i use U1 vs Yun, U2 vs Yang.
Fer sure. I’ll definitely look into it when I get the chance to play AE again.
i use u1 against rufus so i thought i’d use u1 for yun/yang. i made the right choice
Yea? That’s unusual. You Safe jump that messiah kick? Do you have problems with mash outs?
Sorry, I am not up to date regarding the AE Juri changes… But I keep hearing that the standing LP now also hits crouchers and not only big hit boxes. So my new bnb would be LK - LP - CR.MP x WHEEL on crouchers. Is this true? But may be just wrong information…
Thx in advance.
