Official AE Juri Changes Thread

i take it these mk meatys would be hitting fuzzy? would it still not be better to use lk stores and in anycase after lk pinwheel arent you too far away to do anything after a meaty fuhajin.

Having someone locked on wakeup + free chipdamage is better than leaving them to do what they please.
Not to mention that if you have low stored then you can probably do something like mid release, dash, low release dash, mixup.

if you had low already stored and did a mid store you cant lk or expinwheel the juggle lol

Oh yeah, lol, what is the damage/okizeme on just a regular mk fuhajin, release?
Shouldn’t it be possible to safejump after that, I know it’s possible after ex fuhajin in ssf4?

Also, someone told me it’s possible to do fuhajin, u2 in the corner, can anyone confirm this?

mk fuhajin has all the same frame data as the other two. I wouldnt say its a safe jump but by putting them in block stun while you jump it gives them less time to prepare to AA. And yes you can do Fuhajin kick into U2 in the corner, its posted 1 or two pages back.

No I mean you do fuhajin into release as a combo, then safejump after that.

its a techable knockdown so i hardly think youd be able to make the safe jump, i dont really know ud have to ask someone who plays AE.

Chun ex legs for example is a techable knockdown that you can safejump from, Rufus galactic tornado, Sakura Shooken etc. It’s not unusual for characters to be able to safejump from a techable knockdown, and since the fireball should connect when they’re fairly high up I don’t really see why it wouldn’t work. But it should be easy to test in SSF4 by doing something like j.mp, mk release or something like that.

I do this in vanilla super.

Fuha store > immediate jump > land > sc mk xx release > c.mk xx hk sempusha.

I think a 5 frame reversal fails.

I’m assuming the new juggle combo they gave to her fuhajin is character specific. I tried it against a guile (couple of times; while he was standing and crouching) and I couldn’t get the lk fb release to combo off the fb kick. The fireball just kinda went right through (like it does in Super). Weird.

Realness. Start working on your corner resets boys. This is going to be big for juri. I’ve been trying to find solid ways to keep the pressure going with fireball/throw/fuhajin store pressure. Keep them guessing at all times.

Something I’ve been doing a lot lately is in the corner off a j mp > fuhastore. This resets. A meaty c mp works great here all around. Mix in throws, ambiguous cross ups, double fireballs, and fse her corner game is quite sexy.

Now in ae we have a juggle off her fuhastore to another fuhastore. That’s hot.

I always say pressure and mix up wins in this game, well I think I’m happy with this change. It suits my playstyle well.

Sad? That’s just ridiculous. They go and give us a new tool in order to “balance” Juri and they make it character specific?

Whoopty freaking doo, Capcom. At least we still get Fuhajin Store > Other stuff. Store > U2 sounds like delicious corner rape.

I’m telling you. Capcom made juri pretty nice when I rethought my game plan. It’s control mid 3/4th to mid screen spacing until I can do a pinwheel > dash or throw or dive kick in the corner. Once I’m in range for one guess to get my opponent cornered I rush down. There’s only a few characters in the cast I won’t rush. Everyone else… Fuck it. Go for broke and I dare them to mash out. I double dare them.

Honda, deejay, fei long, blanka, gief, thawk are the only people I won’t rush down but I’ll keep them cornered with the same fireball/zoning pressure going in for the occasional tricks.

But once I start option selecting better fuck Honda, fuck blanka, and fuck fei long. Triumph or die!!!

Now… With the changes to fuhajin I’m all about it. Gotta hustle for those wins but my hustle just got stronger.

fireball whiffing after kick on some isnt a big deal, you wouldnt want to go for the release anyway. and you can just substitute lk pinwheel for around the same damage.

I thought someone said the launch height of the kick depends on the strength used?

FUCK AE yun are yang are too over powered. The timing and skill required to do most their combos are equal to linking 2 boxer jabs. Capcom better make some serious changes to the twins when AE hits consoles.

General pressure games from most of the cast requires mix ups, safe block strings, baits all the other stuff but not fucking yun and yang, they can just fucking spam divekick combos until it works. The matchup against yun and yang is looking even worse than before. A tactic I mentioned before about jumpback -> divekick to counter the twin’s divekicks, juri’s divekicks has to hit them on the upperbody because any lower it trades and it’s a crap trade for Juri because they’re usually lower to the ground and recover faster getting a relatively safe jump in on you forcing you to defend. far st.:lk:, far st.:mk: and far st.:mp: are the best normals to shut down their divekick pressure because it hits them as they jump. However these normals are only effective when spaced correctly which is a big fucking problem because their walk speed is probably 1.5x of Juri’s if not more. The only safe poke/chip damage set up against them is far st.:lk: xx :lk:/:mk: senpusha depending on spacing, cancelling into fuhajin release/ex is also good but if they catch on or guess right then you eat a counterhit palm, which btw has some stupidly long active frames. You can’t jump forward if you’re 3/4 screen away from yang because the :mk: and :hk: versions of his dp kicks rolls forward before rising. I still haven’t found a move/special from juri that beats yun and yang’s dp kicks. If yun/yang backdashes on wake up as you jump in on them, ex senpusha catches them. I hate the twins, so much.

  • I mentioned before about fuhajin kick -> :lk:/ex senpusha connecting anywhere, that turns out to be not true. sorry for the initial bad info. Results has varied across the cast, can’t even say for sure who it works 100% on.

  • corner whiff: ex fuhajin (hit) -> ex senpusha (whiff)

I’ve been preoccupied with figuring out how to beat the twins so if you got anything you wana find out about AE, post quick because I’m heading back to the UK on the 11th where I doubt AE exists… Just perfect, I’m going back to no AE, miserable cold and uni deadlines, this is gona be a shit month.

I wish I could throw a fireball after a string of lights. Would be nice to hit confirm a high off of lights in the corner. Either you can’t do like clkx2 release or the timings strict.

Well, did anyone even try the HK release juggle that Juicebox told us about?
