OFFICIAL 24 Season 7 Thread: Dead Or Alive?

Better yet, just have him show up on The Unit.

lol they already stoled from MGS, don’t tempt them with FFX

Has Curtis showed up on The Unit yet, Sep?

Nope. I think David Palmer is the most recent 24 death to be on, even though he’s been there since the beginning. I was hoping for Tony, but, well…yeah.

WARNING: I AM ABOUT TO CRUSH THE SEASON ’ HYPE BUZZ.

Am I the only person who thinks that things are too far fetched now.

I dealt with the PSP that could control EVERY electronic in existence. I accepted it.

I’m having a hard time believing this Starkwood thing. A bunch of board of directors had to have known what Hodges was up to. Okay, maybe they didn’t, but Hodges just killed one of those board of directors and no one even blinked. The second in-command at Starkwood would have to have some badass friends in the company and else where. No way they wouldn’t retaliate within hours if not seconds, even against Jonas Hodges.

Than, I’m expected to believe that President Skirt after having being bitch slapped by an Angry African, her daughter held at gun point , her husband shot and her only son still dead would allow a nice cordial meeting with the man responsible for ALL OF IT in the oval office at midnight?

Really guys?

Not only that, but their are Americans working for a public company who are ready to lay Brain-AIDS all over Maryland on their bosses say so. Do they think their boss is going to keep them out of prison? They must have a helluva severance package. Seriously, those guys aren’t secret mercenaries or terrorists. They are people doing a job. I can’t think of one scenario where a dude would blow up the east coast because his boss told him too. Not if they are working for a public company. Even if your boss was crazy. They KNEW they were blackmailing the government and they KNEW they were going to get caught.

I can’t accept it.

Sorry.

^ I pretty much agree and have had similar thoughts for weeks, but I was going to hold my comments until the finale. I’ll just say that so far, my season rankings won’t change that drastically after S7 ends.

EDIT:

And you should. Never underestimate the power of a PSP with hacked firmware.

This season has been particularly insane and packed with an excessive amount of plot twists that make no real sense if you spend time thinking about them…that is why I am enjoying this season more than any other since like Season 3. The ante has been jacked up so high already (honestly, even the concept of the show shouldn’t last you more than a season or two, this is ridiculous) that the only way they can keep it going is to push into absurdity.

And it’s glorious.

If you’re actually using your common sense to dissect plot developments in 24 and that’s hampering your enjoyment of the show…well that’s just your own fault. I laugh at you like I laugh at all the people who walked into Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li expecting to watch a good movie.

TOOOOOONY!!!1111 WHYYYYYYYYyyyy!!!111

THERE ARE STILL SIX ENTIRE EPISODES LEFT!?!

Also, I love the way Tracy Morgan peaced out Larry - he switched to his primary and went around to the other side of the dumpster. Come on Larry, that’s Counter-Strike 101. Goddamn.

Insane and far fetched is in the bone structure of 24. I mean the first season started with a would be assassin, that begins his job by sky diving out of a plane (commercial I think) and blowing it up. The constant upping of ante of insanity should be expected. This season has just handled it MUCH better then previous one did.

As for the Starkwood employees, they have been saying for a few episodes, most on the compound don’t know shit. The lead Mercenaries know and the scientists know but that is about it. You see one scientist refuse to fire the missiles until his superior throws him aside. And to be honest, if you knew your boss was one of the most powerful people in the world and smuggled in bio weapons, would you risk your ass defying him? The boss might not keep them out of prison but if he goes down, not only are they out of a job but he could track you down and put the heavy screws to you and those you love. Much like that security guard at the docks Jack saved, it is a damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation because you can’t win once you get past a certain point.

As for the Prez, she needs SOMETHING to do, thus the face to face meeting. No doubt something else will arise in her office that will allow her to stick around.

Hold on. I am not trying to dissect the plot. I’m not looking for plot holes, the plot holes are seeking me out. When that happens you have a problem. I could pick apart any long lasting show if I thought about it, but you aren’t supposed to see the bullshit when you AREN’T thinking about it.

Doesn’t matter. 24 season 7 is silly. But silly in an awesome way.:lovin: as opposed to season 6 which was silly in a recycled and boring way.

6 hours left. Who is the big boss!?!?!?!?

All I know is, after reading Carlos Bernard’s interview on Fox’s website concerning Tony…

I’m uneasy

Spoiler

Because it’s looking like my boy Almeida might ACTUALLY fully embrace the “Fuck Everyone” ideology that I was hoping against. Still 6 more eps and a helluva lot can happen in that time but just the stuff he was saying in the interview was really giving me a gloomy outlook on his character. That and the teaser for the next ep. It’s bittersweet really though. Almeida’s been all sorts of awesome throughout the entire series, and even though a lot of us would hate to see him be the bad guy, he does a great job at portraying the evolution into a badguy. Come on Tony, fight the Dark Hadou!

Hahaha, I haven’t seen/heard spoilers ahahahaha. Isn’t this show 2nd to ratings only to American Idol? JACKKK BAUER POWER HOUR!!!

:wonder: This sort of entertainment is for escapism enter another world that you would not otherwise know existed, if you dont like it watch reality TV :arazz:

Other than that I think those incidents you mentioned are quite realistic, those guys arent your high school lab technicians, they have most like been to war. zones. Board of directors would be happy aslong as they make profit and get bonuses each year noone would ask questions, remember this incident happened within the day, planned for months! As long as Jack doesnt hallucinate about his deceased wife who tells him its not your time yet and cures him, I wouldnt call it far fetched.

As a Fox show? No, 24 is third. House is second after Idol. Overall, 24 is in the teens. Shows like CSI, Survivor, Dancing with the Stars and Two and a Half Men (WTF at that one) are ahead of 24. This is according to the Neilsen Ratings.

Addressing Calibur’s post. Its only been a couple of hours since Hodges killed Doug Knowles. Hodges even said Knowles was supposed to be home when they spoke. The rest of the board members were probably at home and asleep. Plus no one even knows it was Hodges who killed him aside from EVIL SLATER (Az called him EVIL SCREECH in his last recap but he’s SLATER, SCREECH is the guy in the hospital who was killed by DR QUINN) and BALD SCIENTIST.

As for the last point. Wellman already touched on it a bit. Either the employees are on a need to know basis or it’s a case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t. But if I can make a real life comparison, there probably were people in the Nazi party who knew of and were against what the higher ups were doing but couldn’t really do anything about it. In terms of social psychology, people can easily be controlled by a powerful authority figure.

The Milgram experiment is a good example of what I’m talking about.

Yeah, Two and a Half Men, which is good show that has a bad time slot for me, regularly dominates the 9 PM, Monday night time slot. CBS has almost every top-rated prime time show right now.

Watch Valkyrie. They actually did try to take out Hitler, but they failed.

Exactly. It took Jack and Renee five minutes to walk across the FBI hall where Kim was which was the exact same time it took Larry and his squad to get .to Starkwood via helicopter. Oh and did Michelle just teleport in S2?

I mean, I have brain.

I’d throw away all logic and season 6 philosophy to have a season like #7 any timeeee. Jack is due to give us kill.

Oh don’t even start trying to think about time in 24 I know you should but just know there’s wormholes everywhere for people in 24 universe to go through. Jack can be almost anywhere in the world in under 10 minutes.

Calibur I have to agree with you it’s past outrages and you’ve only scratched the top. The whitehouse has minimum security and no cameras. The secret service(ex special forces and marines) can’t shoot to save there lives let alone the presidents. The FBI… well need I say more. Despite all these flaws I can’t help to pay attention too, I still enjoy the hell out of the show and will continue until it’s off the air.

Hah no I was being sarcastic. I stopped thinking about 24’s traffic - aerial and land - since S3. :clown:

yeah its pretty funny how the swat teams, secret service, and pretty much the military in general always fails and its always jack and friends who do everything

I’d think that the most glaring lack of plausibility is, after how much Jack has done for the country, and how many times he’s been right when everyone else was dead wrong, that people still actually doubt him. This is how things should have played out…

PRESIDENT SKIRT: How do I know I can trust you?
THE BAUER: With no offense Madam President…ask around.
PRESIDENT SKIRT: Okay, some one give me this man’s file. 5 minutes later Okay, yeah. Y’know what? Mr. Bauer, sir, why don’t you just sit here in this Presidental chair and handle this shit. I’m going to go sit on the couch and watch Designing Women reruns. Let me know if you need anything at all - SWAT teams, high-tech intel, a frosty cappuchino, anything at all.

But then again, the show would have to be renamed to like “5” or something.

The only thing I complain about in 24 is the fact that Jack Bauer isn’t a real person.
