Official 2016 NBA Off-Season Thread: Westbrook staying in OKC for 3 more years. Confirmed MVP

Words you never want to hear during a basketball game “Splash Brothers”. Because that usually means Steph and Klay are in that culo. No lube.

Curry was drafted 7th.

Also remember the Knicks had the 8th pick that year.

And the resulting salt was delicious.

I remember that. Poor Knicks. They wanted Curry so bad. At least they have Kristaps now

Can’t forget the Wolves picking Rubio and Flynn right before Curry. :s

Who got booed out of the building.

Knicks fans are stupid.

Don’t forget Jeff Teague and Jrue Holiday. Too bad they didn’t keep Ty lawson instead of trading him the same night.

Steph and Klay got shut down. I doubt the bench will score like that again Lue will make adjustments. Lebron almost got a triple dub. Im not even worried. Everything is fine.

I give it a week before you’re back in your hidey hole.

NAILED IT!

nerd article.

anyways… cavs strat was to take out the ppl who dominated the last series, klay and steph, and let the rest of the team get theirs, and what happened was the rest of the team did, and cavs can’t hang against warriors scouted defense and their crippled splash-bros-focused defense can’t stop warriors bit players.

as long as kyrie and love are out there and mosgov is on the bench and if you are completely focused on stopping the top 2 players… warriors can still outscore you.

Title: Steph And Klay Shooting Struggles: Did The Cavs Cause This? Spoilers: no. highlight reel of bad defense and bailouts by missed shots or someone forced to make up at the last second.

pretty disappointed in the cavs right now. super underprepared defensively. super underwhelming offensively. they can’t really fix either at this point either… going to need a strong gimmick to make up for these deficiencies.

As i predicted igodala got a nod for more time

the bench lit us up and cavs didnt hit anything

game 2 has to be better

they posted lebron but golden state collapsed and mixed zone
i know lebron has great vision but the lanes were closing and players needed to cut harder jr was open more often than not
players have to move better without the ball when they did they closed up the score
inconsistent though
weak side help for gs came early but there were passes that were doable if movement without the ball was better

barbosa always gets his against us second unit gotta fix that

now kyrie got lit up by livingston but the contests were there GS bench just made crazy shots

effort was lacking…thats something you can fix but inconsistency is a red flag right now
gotta close out better

i expect some yelling and better overall output for game 2

So there’s talk of the Hawks planning on trading Teague to Philly for Noel. Thoughts? Concerns?

I’ll find Colangelo, rip out his throat, and then I’ll take over the Sixers since I can’t trust anyone else to do it.

Philly does need a point guard. I guess my question is how much is Noel worth?

I feel like PG is on the brink of being an MVP.

Don’t they also need a shooting guard, power forward, small forward, center, a bench, and a future?

I’d still keep conferences and divisions. It creates rivalries between teams, drama and story lines, things sports writers love to talk about so they don’t have to actually watch and analyze games. If every team played every other team in the league the same number of games we probably wouldn’t have gotten series like the Knicks-Heat of the 90s, the Lakers-Kings of the early 2000s or Joakim “Nobody goes to Cleveland for vacation” Noah. We see it in other sports too like Yankees-Red Sox.

In the end it comes down to how teams draft and interconference player movement. The Bulls fucked up a bunch of drafts. Jay Williams, Eddy Curry, trading Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas. Hawks drafted Marvin Williams over Deron Williams and Chris Paul. Pistons took Darko over Melo. MJ drafts guys like Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison. Meanwhile the Spurs were bad for two years and they end up with Robinson and the best PF in history. Kobe was drafted by Charlotte and threatened to play in Italy if they didn’t trade him to LA. He goes on to team up with Shaq who leaves Orlando to also go west. Boston did have that five year window where they were contenders but it doesn’t happen if Garnett and Allen don’t move from West to East.
