…good God, Kevin Correia cannot be the ace of a major league staff, can he? Wow. There is really no one with real legitimate upside in this entire system outside of McCutchen, that is kind of sad. How can a team be this bad for this long and still have a farm system that is so terrible? There is zero hope here.
I don’t get a lot of these one year respectibility signings, like $5 million to Lyle Overbay or $8 million to Vlad, or etc. Why not just use all that money to go over slot for draft picks? Wouldn’t that be a better use of money?

This is the difference between a solid small market team like the Rays over the last few years, and bad ones like the Pirates. Sad thing is that the Pirates could probably pull way more attendance if they were as good as the Rays, whereas the Rays could win 3 straight titles and people still wouldn’t care.
