I should be mad knowing that I root for the Braves…yet for some reason…I’m not. Just more upset that after Dan Uggla, the Braves still haven’t traded for or signed a power-hitting outfielder.

Only reason I’m salty is because people will STILL claim the Yankees can do whatever they want just because they have the most money. Meanwhile 2 hours away, a National League team trots out Lee, Halladay, Oswalt and Hamels every week. So it’s not just one team that can make big moves, nor is it entirely based on money.
Oh also I wonder how much that incident in the playoffs with dumbass fake bandwagon Yankees “fans” heckling Lee’s wife in the stands had to do with all this. I’ve been to Philly, I can’t imagine someone picking it as a place to live over NYC unless they grew up there originally, which I don’t think Lee did. Additionally Lee and Sabathia are friends, but their WIVES are also friends from back when they were in Cleveland, and you know how the wives love to get in on these decisions.
But in the end, if that’s the move that he wanted to make, good for him. He didn’t just take the most money, he went with what was gonna make him happy. I respect that. Just goes to show, if having the most money was the only thing that mattered, then he wouldn’t be where he was at right now. Good for the Phillies, they’ve built a monster staff.
EDIT: and yes Red Sox fans rejoicing for the Phillies is equally stupid. If the Sox were going after someone and the Kansas City Royals or some random team got them instead, real Yankees fans wouldn’t be hoppin around and celebrating.

Zack’s a good pitcher, but I’d hate to see him on the Yankees. I think he would meltdown here. Some pitchers can handle it here, like Pettite and CC, but others just lose their mojo in New York, even tho they were good on their last team. (looking at you, Javier Vazquez)

Cole Hamels! Does no one remember him? This is more than pitching Chimera, this might be like a historically good rotation. This is not even like Atlanta’s or Oakland’s Big Threes…there are FOUR of them.
Cliff Lee actually had the worst WAR last year out of all of them…maybe because he was playing in Seattle for half the season and it sucked his life away.
