I bet on just about everything there is to bet on in life, but Baseball.
Baseball just one of those thing that I have no clue what is going on. Sabermetric talk is like a foreign language to me. I understood calculus faster than I understood sabermetric (I still don’t understand sabermetric. There’s like a cKrAzillion different stats!)
Does that play a role in your betting?
Baseaball stat nerds/geeks are like the Lions in the jungle. King of the nerds/geeks. We basketball guys are lost when you dudes talk. Don’t even get me started on the football guys.
Sabermetrics can help you bet on baseball, but since any given baseball game outcome is hard to predict (the best teams, best pitchers, etc. only win about 60-67% of the time), it’s probably only useful over the long haul and not for short series, let alone individual games.
Looks like Cliff Lee was the best trade the Texas Rangers have made in their franchise history thus far, even if it is a one year rental. They sure lucked out in being able to take on salary despite the fact that they were pretty much on MLB financial aid (not sure how that was fair…).

i know i lost so much money on my futures when the braves crashed. they went from up 9 games in august to me cashing all my win NL east tickets and looking good for my win the nl and win ws then they just blew up. i lost like 50k in the division round
