I wake up this morning. Yankees are trying to trade for Cliff Lee of the Mariners.
I blinked once or twice before it really settled in what was happening. I was just flabbergasted the Yanks would be able to do this, but they might have.
Glad the Ranger got him. He’s a great pitcher.
Mariners are rebuilding well. Hopefully this works out for both sides.

Yeah they don’t have much reason to complain. At least they won’t be like the Brewers owner though, who never shuts the fuck up about the Yankees having more money than him. EDIT nvm, sigley already covered why trading Montero wouldn’t have been that big of a deal. Plus the Yankees farm system is one of the best in the league, and without the aid of high draft picks at that. If they want a backup catcher to Cervelli, they’ll be able to get one.

Even when you have an advantage like playin in a big market, you gotta take advantage of it. I guess you should be mad at the Dodgers more than the Yankees.
In the end, the Yankees trade was just to bait the Rangers into giving them Smoak. Adams just had a sprained ankle, that’s hardly reason to be “concerned about injuries” when you’re supposedly building for next year. Whatever, maybe if some of your other big market teams get their finances together and stop marrying gold digging cunts that fuck your owner over, you can make a run at Lee next year. But don’t be mad at the Yankees for doin what they’re supposed to do.
