Official 2010 MLB season/fantasy baseball thread

maybe if jeter had any range at SS the inning would of been over a long time ago

also the giants have scored 1 run in the last 30 innings :frowning:

I dont care about the division, i care about a world series run. The Dodgers are essentially a weaker team of last year, and that is not enough to beat the Phillies. The Dodgers need to bolster their staff, or face certain defeat AGAIN. Roy Oswalt is on the block, but McBroke isn’t going to pick up that contract thats for sure

JASON BAY OMG STOP BEASTING

this guy is out of control

HELL YEAH GET ME THEM FANTASY POI… oh wait. :frowning:

At least we on the first page of ESPN.com

:woot:

Goddamn Basebrawl league. Only 3 bench spots, and I’ve got four guys on the DL!

Yeah, but to paraphrase Frisky Dingo…“The Seattle Mariners made front page news today…but not the good kind, like you want.”

BOOSH!

Just to point this out, I was one of the few and proud that didn’t want to chase out Papi. He’s hitting .357 with 8 HRs in May, btw.

Summary: The Mets GM who gave us Mo Vaughn for Kevin Appier says that he’d trade Strasburg for Oswalt.

I will stab you with a USB cable just for saying that. :coffee:

Forget Strasburg…

…dude still thinks Roy Oswalt is a top five pitcher in baseball?

LO Fucking L at his notion that the Nats are trying to win now. Because they’ve been so good and so close for so long now that their window is about closed, is that it, Mr. Philips?

Roy Oswalt is still a damn good pitcher, the only problem is he can not stay healthy. I would not however trade Strasburg for him.

I would say that Zack Greinke, Johan Santana, Tim Lincecum, Roy Halladay, CC Sabathia, Felix Hernandez, Dan Haren and Cliff Lee are all undeniably better.

Definitely a #1 on some teams, #2 on most but pretty well outside the top five range.

Yeah not saying he is top 5 but he is a quality pitcher.

Roy Oswalt also has a ridiculous contract. Dude is set to make like $15 million in 2012 alone. Combine that with his stints on the DL in the past, and I can see why teams aren’t chomping at the bit just yet to get him.

oswalt is nice in that if it doesn’t pan out you’re not gonna be hit financially

any team that signs cliff lee has to put up 100+ million to resign him. for oswalt you get 2.5 years for roughly 39 million and a prospect or two. i mean if it doesn’t work oh well, that’s not that much money for a pitcher.

he would be a good bet for those mid market teams who aren’t that financially sound but are in the middle to the top of the pack. atlanta, washington, st louis, tigers, twins, oakland, angels would all be good fits.

dodgers and texas are broke though they probably could use him the most. mets and reds have bigger problems and he won’t help them too much.florida won’t spend the money but they would do good with him and they need a veteran on the team.

i wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up on the mariners or cubs though even though they don’t need him because those teams are bad and make horrible trades.

A team that wants him will probably have to give up top prospects to the Astros, that’s the thing. This isn’t a salary cap clearing move for them, they’re gonna want some big talent for Oswalt. Yeah he’s a quality pitcher, but with the injuries and age, most teams will just want to keep depth in their farm system for a better opportunity.

It should just be a salary cap clearing move for them, Astros management is just too stupid to understand this. Obviously you want to get the most you can for him, but i’ll be surprised if they get much more than a couple of B prospects for him, maybe a borderline A prospect if they can start some kind of bidding war.

i think the biggest thing the astros want is payroll flexibility. with carlos lee fucking up payroll and roy oswalts big contract, they just want to move him.
obviously they want talent, but i dont see them demanding a massive amount of talent in the same range that the blue jays demanded for Halladay. I dont think it will take much to make a deal for Oswalt. I think he will excel in Dodger Stadium and the NL west
