Pressure move mixed with paperwork/assists to deal with advancing guard. Mix in grabs/slip-up when opponent starts to expect it.
Do you have a link to this? I gotta see this.
Same here. Good Wright play is always fun to watch.
Also, if by some miracle one of the Wrights made top 16, that would make my life.
Here you go guys! It’s at 1:09 - http://www.twitch.tv/leveluplive/b/302895440
Unfortunately both Wrights were eliminated, but hey, Wright in Top 16’s for some other day. P:
Greetings, fellow Phoenix Wright mains, I am a fellow former Smash player who used to main a bad character in Brawl and now mains PW in this game (although I probably wasn’t as well known as Poltergust due to the lack of… winning). I don’t have access to an Xbox much, but when I do, I’m an incredible lab warrior, so I’ll try and keep you updated with as much PW tech as I can find. Here are some findings:
(My team is Spencer/Wright/Dante for the reason that I really wanted to play Spencer, Phoenix Wright, and Dante. No really)

[]With the use of a lockdown assist (like Jam Session for my team), if I can get the opponent to block for the full duration of the assist, I can call Maya Shield and collect three pieces of evidence against characters like Magneto who can normally tri-jump over Maya and get PW easily. Of course this needs more testing, but here’s what I’ve done: cL-cM-[call JS]~cH (so the opponent’s still in the blockstring)- collect evidence. This method doesn’t work against characters like Ghost Rider, but it can help PW collect evidence against many more opponents.
[]You can cancel launcher into Maya Shield or straight into evidence collecting. You still only get one piece against characters who can teleport to you, but it may be more helpful against certain characters than using the hard knockdown to get evidence.
[*]With any investigation combo that uses Maya as a relaunch, you can use the plinking technique to get a piece of evidence and still continue the combo.

I’ve also been trying various Turnabout combos, in case we ever anti-air someone with OBJECTION, and with Spencer’s Slant Shot assist, I can get either almost a million damage with PW alone without using meter, or about 1.05 million using a raw tag into Spencer and have him use a meter, all out of the initial OBJECTION! The sad news is, it’s basically corner only Why can’t his fingers corner carry?
^Can you cancel launcher into Stance change and still follow up with the air combo?
Haven’t tried it, but I severely doubt it; Stance Change takes 20 frames (I have the Brady Guide for anyone that needs data frame questions) and taking that much time and then jumping up to continue the combo… not happening.
Depending on how far the objection hits, you can do the following combo from anywhere on the screen:
Objection,:h:, delay, j. :h:, land, j. :d:+:h:, cr. :h:, dash, :f:+:h:, dash, :s:, j., j., j.:h:, j.:s:, Order in the court. Does about 820,000 damage (I’ll edit the correct amount when I can use the xbox again).
I’m also trying to make some effective turnabout combos that don’t require a lot of execution and can kill the opponent without assists. I’ll post what I got so far in the combo thread later. Be sure to post your findings too! Wright needs as much help as he can get :china:
I’m trying to use the ground bounce as late as possible because I’m trying to go with the theory that if you land the last objection as close to the ground as possible, you can hard tag into another character and continue the combo from there. With that being said, I’ve been trying to use :d:+:h: to see where that takes me, all I can muster is comboing :f:::h: Paperwork Storm :h: (the reverse QCB one) into launcher. I’ll figure it more later, wish there was an infinite turnabout mode option in training to figure this stuff out.
By the way, Wright has a hilarious c.:h: infinite in Level 3 X-Factor in the corner in Turnabout Mode.
"CONTRADICTION!“
wait a little while for the wall bounce
"CONTRADIC-CONTRADIC-CONTRADIC-CONTRADIC-CONTRADICTION!”
Pretty sure that you can only raw-tag combo on stuns that leave the opponent standing. Recovery for Hold-it stun on the ground is usually too short.
well the patch came out with H&H and i found out they did nerf his turnabout assist…(tested it in training)
I am so sorry PW players. Really, Capcom is just an incompetent company.
lol.
I’m assuming he got nothing in compensation. Aight?
correct! doesn’t seem like he got anything in return
except maya’s shield comes out faster it would seem
Except for a slightly faster Maya shield. >_>
I can’t believe they actually went and nerfed him. What the heck is going on with Capcom?
Well fuck you too Capcom, least our feelings for each other are mutual.
Nah guys, you just didn’t know about that really strong Phoenix Wright tech that Capcom knew about so they needed to nerf it before you found it but they’ll never tell you what it was.
Sigh, they actually nerfed him. It seems like the only thing he got in return is that Maya Shield seems to come out faster now. Also, the end of his level 3 dialogue is different. I heard him actually say take that instead of take this.
Yo Maya comes out faster? Sweet. But like what’s the point since turn about sucks now?
