One of these days… I’ll make it over to Sammamich (see: Sammich). =\
I am Challenging Ceramic and Mor is challenging Cole.
:karate: <-- It will be mine…or Mor’s.
I should probably get in on this. Put me down for Fei Long/Sagat at the moment.
As I said before, I’m going to be challenging Dugg at some point.
Talk about doing work!
Good shit everybody.
I challenge the winner of Ghhrk and Bisquick for a FT10 because even if you do somehow random out ghrrk with your randomness you can’t random out in a FT10…consistency will always beat you…
but ghrrk…beat his ass so we can have a good set…
This is dumb. Whoever can make it out to sammmammish the most will be the highest rank. Since you just get bumped down if you’re not there. Just take me off the list. Not gonna make it out there very much.
You can challenge people anywhere, onlines , sessions , wtvr. The first night people got pushed down so we could test out the system with challenges since ALOT of people bounced immediately after the tourney
I don’t get it. What is the point or the goal of this? Just to be hype and play hard? Still kinda wanna opt out. 4-0ing the “legend killer” with Fei Long was about as hype as I get for vanilla sf4.
Well it’s gonna carry over to Super, and it’ll be seeding for monthly or bi-monthly tourneys at the dojo according to Cole. Also after a month or so, I can see the list being a bit more accurate as long as people actually play.
I completely agree with Elias. That makes no difference at all if it carries on to super or not. The point of the matter is that this “system” is highly flawed in the sense that it doesn’t really encourage people to play hard no matter what. For instance, Tanaka being bumped down to 17 for no apparent reason, yet he’s most definitely top 3 in this area undoubtedly. So Tanaka being pushed down to 17th is supposed to encourage HIM to push himself to play harder? When he already KNOWS that he’s a top player in Seattle anyways?
The idea was good to get people excited, but the REAL players know that this doesn’t mean anything. They know who they are. It’s nothing against Cole or his system, but I’m just saying that a lot of people are blind to how extremely flawed this system is. Whatevs, I’ll keep my spot at 33 (or whatever it’s at/however low it gets) and take any challengers, but I’m not going to challenge anyone unless I actually want to push MYSELF, not because I want to rise in the ranks.
You are…
The Flyest for a reason.
every system has flaws. the whole point is just to get people used to high pressure situations / tournament play. Atleast the system encourages consistency / quickly adjusting / etc. It does what its supposed to do.
YOU see flaws? point them out, and give a suggestion that will help fix the flaw.
A flaw that i see in NWSF.
SEATTLE is flawed. too many niggas living here wanna share #1.
really? Can we deter the debate and drama bullshit from here?
The only flaw that I see is the fact that we are still doing it on SFIV, I think we should’ve waited till SSFIV comes out. But as people have pointed out things will be more accurate as time goes on.
But I will say you’re wrong about too many niggas wanting to share #1. Please show me when someone said some shit like that.
And I’m tired of people shitting on their own city, and not doing shit about it except running their mouths on here. You don’t feel the scene is up to par? Do something about it, cause I know I’ve been trying to do that shit since October, and the fact that various people are still trying to shit on my scene and my city even though I’m busting my ass trying to set some shit up (as well as Cole) to get the scene strong yet these “Lonely fighters” want to keep running their mouths off about how fucking weak Seattle is is calling the kettle black. And ultimately is a slap to my (and those that are actually trying to do something about it) fucking face.
Frank what are you doing to improve the Street Fighter scene? I know what you’re doing about the Tekken scene and I respect that 100% but are you doing that for the SSFIV scene?
Edit: lol at myself for wanting to deter the drama and bullshit yet I did what I said not too…shame on me.
Why wouldn’t you play hard no matter what? If you’re the challenger you want the spot, so you have to take it from the player above you. For the player being challenged you don’t want to lose your spot, so regardless of who you are if you’re not playing to win then you won’t get far in the rankings and don’t deserve a higher spot.
Yes, obviously Tanaka deserves his top 3 spot, we all know that and there’s no denying it. But since challenges started the second after the tournament ended, and Cole wanted to see how the system would play out, some people who remained to play and challenge would have been locked in their tournament position since the people they could challenge wouldn’t be there. Day 1 was a test in many ways and though half of the people from the ranking tournament got shafted, they shouldn’t have trouble getting into their rightful spots. Although it isn’t fair to Tanaka (especially since he left because he works early), do you really think he’ll have a hard time getting back up when and if he decides to move in the rankings?
Yes, the idea is to get people excited, but really the MAIN point is to get EVERYONE in SEATTLE playing. This has been a problem with our scene, and with Evo only 3 months away(yes, check your calenders) we need to level up, play to be the best, learn more characters, and practice playing to win in tough situations. Yes, there are plenty of REAL players in the scene and some of them haven’t been playing as much since NWM. A lot of things have changed since then, with TW we have seen many upsets that nobody would have thought possible back in September. Just look at Bokkin as the main example. I can say without a doubt that he is the most hype for this ranking system and the people who take this seriously and can get into the top spots will be the REAL players.
Mike, I respect you as a person and a player, but with that attitude how do you really expect our scene to grow? Sure vanilla 4 is gonna be done in 22 days and we’ll all be playing Super, but if you really don’t plan on taking part in the challenges, doesn’t that just mean you’re not very hungry…:wow: Seriously.
I know I’ll be out there, getting match-up experience, tips from other players, trying to get to the top. I’m also going to be realistic, I don’t expect to be number one but I’ll sure as hell try to do all I can to get to that spot. The idea isn’t to TRULY see who the best in the north-west is, it’s really a hook to try to get people to come out and level up. As Frank said, Cole is trying to make an all out effort to better OUR scene by allowing us to use his place almost 24/7 and to give us some awesome competition along the way to truly get people hyped on the game. The fact that it will carry to super just makes it more exciting. I’m going to have so much to learn as a new player and it’s overwhelming, but coming to the dojo has been a ton of fun and I know I’ll continue to go and bring people along who want to get into fighting games.
i help the ssf4 scene by buying equipment for the dojo.
the other day, i stayed at the dojo all day long while sf4 players were playing. I wanted to leave and go to EBM’s house to practice tekken, but i decided to help sf4 and stay at home and keep the dojo open.
some srk’er spend the night, and when i got home i gave that nigga a blanket and a pillow.
when srk’ers are hungry i try to feed them at the dojo (im not a baller, so this is hard for me)
I do a lot of small things that most people dont ever see or think about. I work in the background making improvements unnoticed by the majority.
Frank- I guess I dont have any words on the forums that someone specifically said that they wanted to share #1. This is just a feel that i get from a lot of older players that dont play much anymore. They feel like they are entitled to their TOP ranking spots, but truly inside they are scared and out of practice. not able to compete, the old dinosaurs comeout and growl at the reality that they might not be so good.
oh also. only a few people have the mental capacity, and the balls to take mickey on.
I have both, so i will do my part and not let him run his mouth =p
This my friend is the power of the Frank’s
I guess I took that the wrong way since I’m one of these dinosaurs lol, but I know where I stand in this scene, and I’ll say it right now #5 is too high for me imo. And I know it’s not long before I start sliding down the ladder, but I’m not going to give up w/o a fight.
But you know why they aren’t playing much anymore, 22 days left and counting. I’m more amazed that we have as many people playing right now. But we shall see if the dinosaurs can hold their own when super comes out.
But let’s get this bitch back on track!
It was stated on Day 1, and it hasn’t happened yet but I still challenge Dugg, if I lose, then I’ll be playing Ghrrk’s challenge.
Also can you change the font of the rules and rankings from black to something else? It’s really hard to see in the Darkness skin.
