Nuuk, Greenland: Crack Sessions In An Igloo

Hm. Aaron has a modded PS2 eh. Well nevermind if Aaron doesn’t come. BAH!

Edit; Mr. K can’t come to Kiet’s because he’s going to be getting drunk.

aks - damn, good fucking games. we had fucking crazy ass moments.

player - ex spinning bird kick, dash foward ultra…KO!!!
aks- (drags player to corner) c. mk, fireball, fadc foward, c. fp, ex hurricane, ultra…KO!!!

fuck mics, cell phones on speaker for 2.5 hrs ftw. NOT LIKE THIS!!! lol.

allen is the REAL ryu. final score: 5-4

hope i showed you some good chun stuff to steal, lol.

kaal - sorry about ignoring your invite, was playin my bro when u sent it. next time bro, promise.

I figured you were busy. Allen back in town then? Good shit.

I’ve been working on that c.mk to fireball fadc, so far I can only get it deep or with the shoto MK style anti-air. Shit is beef though.

allen isnt back home yet. he might not this weekend. BOO! we played online and the tight thing, we used our cell phones as mics. we just put our phones on speaker and just wrecked the night.

glen - gg’s. your chun is gettin better with the low/high mixups. i was trying to figure out ways to stuff your wakeup backdashes besides using hurricane kick. i think i found a good way. like with ryu, i tried to do c.mp meaty and c.hk immediately after. i thought if the c.mp whiffed, my c.hk would hit your backdash recovery, but you recovered in time. i’m gonna try c.lk into c.hk option select and see if that works. i’m pretty sure it will. since c.lk is faster than c.mp.

c.short c.roundhouse option select works for me, to punish a lot of wake up backdashes, but i’m not sure about chun.

raeli - i’m not sure if you’re serious or not. i can’t picture you using option selects. but if you are really using more advanced tactics, you’re better than i thought. i guess in a way, this is a backhanded compliment.

lmao. honestly allen, i thought the same.

kiet - im gonna be a maybe. i got work tomorrow pretty early, so if i show, i wont be able to do our usual all nighters.

i’m just now waking up, so there’s no chance of a logical answer from me, but i’m pretty sure raeli’s right on this one. there’s a few non-tatsu backdash punishes i’ve seen, let me see if i have any in my videos, and i’ll get back to you.

you give me a lot of those.

yeah, i experiment a lot. it’s just when i play i don’t exactly work everything in. it’s kind of a curse of knowing a lot about the game but not exactly knowing what to do with it.

edit: I also don’t take my Roo seriously at all. I just know gimmicks.

Maybe? WTF is this maybe shit?

You be there.

Or I’ll burn your house down.

so are games still going down tonight? i dont wanna drive out there and have nobody be there…its a fuckin 40min drive!

Me, JJJ and Rex will be there, maybe AKA (that dude never posts.)

aks, aka, jjj, nki, rex, kiet, kaal, mr. k and DRU - from now on, just text/call me for games or shoot an invite on PSN.

rex - u are semi right. ill admit sometimes ill go overboard so im placing myself under overreaction anonymous. im not gonna log on to srk for a long while. since the OGs and company now how to reach me, get at me.

goodbye srk. you were good while it lasted.

Are you realy getting banned?..

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!!!?

GGs everybody

Aks216- ggs, i wish we could play more. Your style is frustrating, i think cuz you play defense alot like me. High risk high reward yomi. Was very happy to see you finaly using some better combos with ryu, chp hurricane combos >>>> clp dp combos all day. I think your ryu really stood out to me tonight, keep working on him. Once you can fully integrate all of his high level shit(like the option selects) you will be realy realy good.

Glen- you were lucky i didnt play you. and who you kidding, u could never leave SRK.

Kiet- thx for having us over for a phat hookup wit bomb food per usual. let me know if you ever want to get a quick session in sometime. I can play everybody if we play on xbox. You just dont know about my fei long(ask JJJ  )

JJJ- what a dic. u still owe me slap chops damnnit!

Drew- good look on coming out. online play is the new era, its just like 2df or ggpo…except the net play isnt amazing, but there are thousands of players online to play. Many people from srk that are new to the game too that you could find to play with.

Tier listing: revision

S
Glen(superb reaction, and smart enough to make that the entire basis of his game. nothing fancy, just using his reactions and experience to outplay the opponent. when he does force a geussing game, it hurts. ie jumping mp pause tu xx ultra frametrap. His reactions take away some parts of opponents game, and forces them to play his. And when sagat does that, its hard to win)

Shekeib(he went to japan to train when he was already beast, and has won every MO tourny he has gone to as well. already known to be a national level top player, uses a very strong character(stronger than most people realize due to some of his bad matches)

A
Allen(still not in S but i will place him above me for now. many characters with specific match up info. his chun, while maybe only average, is extremely good in the boxer matchup. He plays this as well as the honda boxer matchup very well. Would have to realy focus and play the matchup right to win these fights)

Rex(does well vs most in stl. main reason for high placing is results against nationwide competition when it counts. top 3 at evo north, the first top 3 at a major for MO in a SF game that is not ST. Top 50 at evo, 6 missouri tournament wins, stl ranbat winner, won the early minnesota tournament, second place in MWC teams only losing to the first place team(they were stacked)… is a by far the most impressive resume of a player in the state. Tournament results wise, he is the third highest ranked player in the midwest. ^_^)

JJJ(has solid shenanans, and good footwork. Seems to win in the clutch, and lose in the clutch alot during tournaments. he only picks bad characters, hard to win like that. He says he can slap chop, but iv never seen it. Placed second in STL ranbat, which is realy like placing first since it was kinda a given who would win

B

NKI(basic skills probably enough to beat most other players in the state. second place at springfield…did pretty well against shekeib as well. Any experience gained in japan will be equal or greater than the the months playing here so when he comes back he will be beastly)

ScampJohnson(my pick to be the next new player to crack the top 5. VERY good sim, im trying to get him out to some hookups. just from playing a few times with ppl, and alot of online play…hes realy good. solid sim that i cant see anyone in tiers below him on the list beating it. Others in this tier may win simply because of the lack of experience in the matchups.)

GermanLuger(solid footwork, good turtle, tricky tricks, and good use of the air throw. His game is evolving slowly as he is new to fighters, i expect his growth to continue at a much faster pace then most other players. his character choice hurts him, but is also one of his greatest strengths. look out for him this time into SSF4’s life span, as im sure he will improve alot in a year and vega will be good in that game…he always is.)

Kong(much like allen said, he plays very honest…which in this game doesnt realy work. good ground game and comos. his game just lacks a certain oomph for lack of a better word that is needed to hang with the upper tiers)

C

Lyquid(shows flashes of dominance. decent mixups, great combos. Very suprised to see he lost to axiom at KC, but he did switch characters. I think his abel was finaly getting very solid, sim is decent and a good complimentary character. I expect him to move up but being in KC hurts.)

Warden(seems to dominate against most of stl. very little success against the players above him though. new to the scene and having to play online only are huge deterents. to make it this far, and almost representing the midwest at evo this year, are huge for someone who doesnt have a scene.)

Kaal(sometimes is good, jumps too much. getting solid with combos, doesnt miss purple stuff with ryu unlike most other mo ryus, and hes been using him for like 3 weeks. is leaving soon, so he’ll jump to the bottom of cali tiers. will he rise the ranks and meet us down the road and show us how the west coast do?)

MrK(needs to play with more confidence. when hes on he is far above most others in the state, however he goes two and out and loses to masher sagats. mentaly he is held back, once he can break threw that he will be a force. his character doesnt allow him to make many mistakes.)

And those are my MO top player tiers revised.
I wanted to do a cool write up like allen lol

Can’t really argue with that, I hope I can crack the tier list once my execution and mental toughness improve. I’m definitely not happy with how I do in tournaments, although I’ve had some tough draws the last few times out.

After aarons post I remembered he plays and wins aslot. Hard to tier, but with his solid reactions and zoning I think he needs to go right below jjj in a tier.
Top 5 in the ranbat even after bb came out is impressive.

gg’s to all last night. played until 7am AGAIN… fuuuuuuck…lol well, flowchart dic was so much fun… the only thing that’s not flowchart is the jumping EARLY fierce… baby allen knows what’s up…

btw rex, you can’t reversal dp after blocking blanka’s c. rh at the distance after blocking the electricity. it only works if I sweep really close…lol don’t know who told you that, but they would eat so much fray ultra if they try it…LOL

and kiet… food hookup today, tomorrow, AND tuesday!!!..:wow:

LOL…jumping early fierce YOMI!!!
