Nubytech Street Fighter 15th anniversary stick

seems like adroc seems to be onto something (he uses a dual converter)

the 7.5v and 8v pcbs seem to be working when 2 adapters are used simultaneously.

any other thoughts on this?

Here’s pretty much the best info on this subject. It sounds like you need a 24mm, 17mm long button. I’d recommend the Seimitsu PS-14-DN since the Sanwa are very sensitive.

hi guys!! I’m receiving this stick in three days.I have the tac adaptor.I thought this used to work with all the different pcbs.is it true?
however as you may have heard the 2.70 ps3 firmware brought a lot of problems with this adaptor.if you plug it the ps3 will freeze.
so what do I have to do? I also bought a dragon adaptor and another adaptor from dealextreme.will these work?
those of you with the tac adaptor, what do you plan to do?

Ill check the adaptor i posted above tonight with the patch. I havent had the chance to update my PS3 but i will try it out tonight and let you guys know.

I got lucky with that adapter, which works for my 8V PCB…I just blindly bought it from ebay because it was cheap and was an alternative to another generic one that I had bought from dealextreme (which did not work). I noticed that you ordered the same one that I got from that ebayer. Have you received yours yet? Let us know how it works out.

Not sure what you meant with 2 adapters being used simultaneously…my adapter just happens to offer 2 PS2 connectors – I don’t have 2 PS2 peripherals connected to the adapter in order to make it work, if that’s what you meant.

Modding experience:
Anyhow, I finally got around to mod my SFAC with a Happ Comp stick and all 6 buttons (with 2 fillers). I am not a handy man at all and I found the DYI guide by ArcadeStickMonk to be extremely easy to follow (Thanks again. Ya da man). I did what most people did and removed the rubber molding to remove the stick from the top with ease. Buttons were easy to do. The only time consuming part was going out to look for the 18-22 gauge quick disconnects, which I found at Lowes (Home Depot had them too but the only ones they had were the fully insulated ones. WTF? And I went to 2 different Home Depots…shrug. Radio Shack had them too but they only offered it in a bundle package with other sizes and were much more expensive)

Happ Comp. Stick experience:
All I play is SFHD and the Comp stick feels much more accurate than the stock clone stick for charging characters such as Honda/Bison/etc. However, I lost the ability to do circular motion moves such as Dragonpunches accurately and consistently – I was able to do them very accurately on the clone stick prior to modding. Now, the Dragonpunch comes out maybe half the time – very disspointed in that respect. I believe it is due to the square actuator as it no longer provides a smooth circular motion.

So I researched more about the Happ Comp stick and came across the il Euro stick on another thread. After reading the entire thread, it seems that it has mixed results – some people claims the IL Euro is better while others claim that it offers the same results. I concluded that the results will depend on how one holds their sticks and what panel the stick was installed on (MAS, SFAC, custom, etc.) I am going to purchase one to find out for myself.

Too bad he never responded. If he messed up one of the prongs and is planning to replace the main buttons with happ. He can just swap a bad prong with a good one from the stock buttons.

Yeah, it sounds like he definitely needs 24mm screw-in buttons. If those PS-14-DN are long enough then they should be fine. Hopefully someone can chime in with an answer.

hey kyle sorry to bug you thru the forums

any word from that guy with the yellow pcb for SFAC for sale?

thanks

Does anyone happen to have some measurements of this stick? and other info regarding materials used?

things like how thick/what kind of wood is used? what kind of material is on the outside? is the art under plexiglass?

any other info would be great. ive seen plenty of pics, but its hard to know some of those specifications.

thanks.

im hearing that a JLW will fit perfectly without any modification…is that true?

If anyone has an extra shell they want to sell send me a PM please. I’m trying to mod a second joystick.

Well bad news guys, the adaptor i have now locks up the PS3 with any PS2 item in connect to it with. So the Nubytech Joystick and Akuma controller as well as a dual shock 2 controller freeze my PS3 with the 2.7 update.

Man this sucks too cause i will be getting my Happ parts on Tuesday.

hey adroc have u updated to 2.7??

does ur dual adapter still work?

Updated to 2.70 earlier today, no problems with my HAIS adapters from DealExtreme.

Yep still works so you should be good once you get your adapter…I had posted this in one of the 2.7 converter not working threads.

Anyone know the size of the connectors that are stock with this controller? I want to keep the start and select buttons in there, and dont want to fiddle with the quick connects. Rather get new ones for it. Any idea which ones i need to pick up?

All of the stock buttons use .110" quick disconnects. The joystick microswitches use .187" quick disconnects.

Thanks! :bgrin:

Edit: Does home depot carry these? or any other store i can drive to?

They might, but it’s not likely. You’re better off trying your local Fry’s or Radio Shack if you don’t have a local electronics store (that sells things like wiring, connectors, resistors, transistors, etc).

If you’re patient enough to wait, eBay has some. I get mine through Willy’s Electronics here in San Diego.
