Now you can become one of us. The Jill Valentine Team Building Thread

Maybe split them up and use Jill/Taskmaster/Amaterasu and Firebrand/Taskmaster/Amaterasu? (Is _______/Taskmaster/Amaterasu a good shell? Hope it’s not too overused… maybe that’s not a good question for this thread…)

Or… which other choice do you mean? (I think Firebrand works well second too because of Luminous Body DHC and Firebrand/Amaterasu work pretty well together…?)

What do you get from having Taskmaster there that you don’t already get from having Ammy there?

I don’t see much personally.

Hmm… I thought Taskmaster would be a horizontal assist and Amaterasu would be a lockdown assist… probably an egregious failure of game understanding.

Who would work? (Dante comes to mind, maybe? But then again, it seems to me like everyone and their mother uses Dante…)

With Jill i like

Lockdown Assist
Anti-air assist

or

Anti Air Assist
Beam Assist

Finally…

OTG Assist
Lockdown assist.

Heya guys, new prospective Jill player here, and I’m wondering who I should put into the middle spot of my team.

So far I know I’m gonna have Jill (Somersault Kick), ???, and Wesker (Samurai Edge)

For the middle spot, I’ve been thinking between Taskmaster (Horizontal Arrows) and Frank West (Shopping Cart). Which one would be more beneficial? I feel like Frank West is godlike at lvl 4, but I think that Taskmaster is better at utilizing the Samurai Edge off of Wesker in combos and is less situational than Frank West (no need to level up for Taskmaster).

I like both of those options actually. I would argue that Wesker plays better with Taskmaster (both ways), so I think thats the superior option.

Ah, I never thought of it that way. I think you’re right because teleport + arrows is amazing IMO. I’m pretty sure shopping cart could do the same thing, but it would probably be less safe and have too many hits. Thank you!

I really like Frank and Jill. Leveling Frank with Jill is the least of your problems, since she can get him to 4 or even 3 off a simple hitconfirm

Plus, The lockdown from shopping cart is gorgeous. The thing about Shopping cart is that you’re not going to hit confirm off of hit, your going to Forward H (her overhead) for the near unblockable them mix them up with her other overhead into a full combo.

Im Looking back into Jill after regaining my faith in her, so im looking into a team  something like
Jill/ xx/ Super-Skrull ( I think Random-Skrull with xf lvl 3 is sick AF. He’s fun to play. and maybe the tenderizer assist might be a good lockdown assist for Jill in the corner. )
or
Super-Skrull/ xx/ Jill
xx/ Super-Skrull/ Jill
( As you can see i really do believe deep down Jill can be a strong anchor, xf lvl 3 with mad beast both used strategically can be Scary. But is hard as hell to control, i think its the fastest thing in the game. )
Jill/ Super-Skrull/ xx

I’m thinking of adding either Nova (centuarion rush) or Vergil (rapid slash)?

Im obviously no Jill expert by any stretch of the word. So… assist me, you Jill experts?

They’re both solid character but i dont think they compliment each other at all, the only thing i think SS can provide for jill is lockdown with tenderizer on incoming characters in the corner but thats about it. I dont think its a good idea to use the 2 together but if you rly want to then atleast get a 3rd character with a really good assist for jill (preferably something to help her get in).

And i dont think that jill is a good anchor, mad beast is already hard to control with XF3 but even if you do manage to learn how to use it its still nowhere near as good as XF3 oroborus imo and you’re much better of saving your meter for MGS.

Well Jill is a great meter builder right? If i use Jill/ Vergil/ Super-Skrull, i could raven spike dhc into vergils demon mode then raw tag into SS/ L tenderizer and use Inferno. doing a regular combo with jill would probably make that a ToD on paper. i did it in training mode without the jill bnb but idk how hard it would scale.

Not rly, her solo combos ending with a hyper build a little under 1 meter (some of them barely reach 1 meter), and even with 1 good combo extending assist (which you dont have) she’ll probably just build 1.2-1.5.

And yes you can potentially TOD with a team like that but thats not enough to make it a good team, having assists to extend combos is great and all but for jill its far more important to have assists that help her in a neutral position imo. Also i dont think that you would even need to use raw tag combo to do a TOD if you have vergil, just DHC into sword loops, even if you only have meter to do spiral swords once you could probably get more damage out of it than most DHCs.

Well, the reason Jill is such a good battery is, like Wesker, she doesn’t really use the meter in her combos unless you are stretching for the kill.

ok so lets say i do
Jill/ Vergil/ xx

What would you suggest? Frank West on anchor with shopping cart assist?

OTG, it does alot of good for both Jill and Vergil. Shopping cart isn’t bad there, but I don’t really see a spectacular plan for leveling Frank on that team.

I think you should pick up a beam assist, no doubt that an OTG assist will help vergil and jill with their combos but you dont necessarily need it, on the other hand without a good projectile jill can have a lot of trouble get in and vergil wont be able to teleport safely or set up any mixups without constantly burning meter. If you manage to get a hit in with jill and you dont have enough meter to DHC (or you’re not too worried about their point character) you can save your meter and just go for a reset, if you know jill’s combos then 1 reset should be enough to kill most characters and unless they have over 1 mil health you wont need to burn any meter. That way if you kill the character, you know for sure that you have enough meter to DHC into swords and kill their second character.

Personally, I don’e like Vergil with Jill so much. Rapid Slash pushs them away in most situations and that typically works against Jill. it also wiffs up close, which is where you will be trying to be.

I agree, some kind of beam is usually a good choice. But at that point, I would ditch Vergil.

I dont want to focus my entire team on Jill persay, im using Vergil because his dhc potential to a kill and he’s a solid character. I could also alpha or cross counter (whatever its called) safe into Jill with her somersault assist. I could use Vergils assist to push them into the corner and if it connects, it is possible to combo from it.

With frank west it can help me get in with Jill and has other benefits like Nonsexualrice was pointing out before. A otg assist like Weskers samurai edge can increase my overall damage and extremely helps Vergil out; plus he’s dark Wesker. A beam assist would also help jill get in, lets say magentos repulsion ray would be good but im COMPLETE trash with Magento lol, for some reason i cant do RoMs. Dr.dooms plasma beam is good by Dr.Doom on anchor is bleh but not bad. Then theres Hawkeye and Taskmasters assist H-arrow. Taskmaster is a decent anchor but betters with assists as a character and Hawkeye is a good anchor but idk, seems risky.

To get frank to atleast a lvl 3 would be simple, Jill combo/ raven spike/ dhc/ Vergils demon mode/ raw tag/ Frank West/ Snapshot. Lvl 3 Frank West becomes a solid character… a simple… but solid character that one combo would lead to a lvl 4 Frank West and then that makes him one of the scariest characters in the game.

Sup! Jill on Frank West is slept on and REALLY damn stupid. I wrote a guide on it earlier in this thread, but for the sake of space and time, I’ll pm it to you! Jill can get frank to 4 off any solid hitconfirm with 1 meter (she builds a meter mid combo so it’s neutral ) and without meter can get him to 4 with some effort. Also Frank on point with a Jill arrow kick/cart wheel assist is pretty damn good zoning and offensively wise.

Jill/Frank/Vergil is a pretty solid team.

What kind of person makes a good anchor for Jill/Frank? (Maybe Dante? He works super well with Jill, but if Jill dies, can Frank/Dante level up Frank?)
