i voted bush. also voted for kip in the BR mayor race.
the reason i went with bush on this one is pretty much my religous stance. for a christian society a republican concervative leader is always a solid option. while bush may not have the best plans for the iraq conflic or the best tax programs for the lower middle class and poor, something the republican party is notorious for to begin with.
he holds strong christian values on an open front and is against abortion and same sex marraige. i belive that its a price u have to pay, economics and war for the moral platform of the country not deteriarating anyfurther then it already has. thats why i voted for bush. u can ask knives, i dind want to vote bush and struggled with this issue for a few weeks prior to the election but in the end i came to this conclusion. the fact that next term president picked the new justices also made it very important not to have a left wing democratic leader in office, because theres always a chance that hillary r clinton may be given a justice spot, and if that crazy wacked out woman is placed i nthat position i will strongly consider moving out of the country.
I voted for Kip because i think he will bring strong upgrades to alot of crutial BR issues that have been ignored for the longest time, bobby was just not doing anything. i do however wonder what direction the state will take with a democ gov. and br with a strong democ influence in BR. hopefully not an economic downfall.

but… i voted bush because i dont like gays settling down. also, abortion is wrong anyway you look at it. its purely breaking the 5th commandment. you shall not murder simple as that. kerry is for that cuz he is a fag. also, the war in iraq was soo necessary. once again, torturing people is just fucking sick. saddam did that, now hes gone… because of us. lets say saddam acquired some nasty weapons while he was still in power cuz we did nothing. more americans would die, iraqis still being tortured to death… its just delaying the inevitable in which case it could get worse. oh but all those soldiers died… just think of how many more americans could and almost certainly would have if bush had done nothing… and dont say it couldnt happen… if september 11th happened then it can almost be guaranteed that something else would happen. terrorists arent stupid. they could definitely concoct more bullshit. getting rid of saddam and breaking up terrorist networks was the best thing bush has done.
you have to weigh the lives of the many over the lives of the few. plus… the strong are there to protect the weak… not say oh we dont want americans to die so we’ll continue to let innocent iraqi people be tortured to death.

I’m not usually one to hop in to these political conversations, but all this talk about Bush being the right man for the job is confusing me. What good has he accomplished since he has been president? Let’s see…net loss of jobs since his first term as president. And yes there has been an increase in jobs over the past 3 months. But, when a person loses a job making 50,000 dollars a year, only to get a job thats paying 25,000 whats the point. The jobs that are opening up take no type of qualifications besides a high school degree. Therefore people are making less money.
Next, the war on terror. Like Irvin said, it is a no brainer to go after someone who attacked the country. And that was Bin Laden. Then all of a sudden we start hearing random threats to Iraq about WMDs. OK fine, Sadaam seems pretty damn crooked, lets go to the U.N and figure this out. The U.N sends in inspectors and before they can finish the job, we are invading the place with NO evidence and NO backing from any allies besides England.
No we have alienated ourselves from the rest of the world because we went against the united nations. Only to find out that there were no WMDs, and they didn’t even have the capability to even make any. And the whole time we are breathing down sadams neck, Iran and N. Korea are building nuclear stations. So now we have to make sure they aren’t using them to make nuclear weapons. And the only time you hear about bin laden is when he decides to release another tape. Wasn’t he the main focus to begin with?
And I have no problems with anyone saying that they like bush because of his moral values or that he lets everyone know of his christian background. But quite honestly, I really don’t give a damn about what his moral values are. I could careless if gays want to get married. If thas what they want to do let em. The president represents all people of this country. They can be christians, muslims, or even aetheist(sp), gay or straight. What

I think it’s been proven by the fact that no WMDs were found in Iraq that Saddam was no greater threat then any of the other Dictators of the world. That was his reason for going to war at first, then the reasons changed to liberating the people of Iraq among other things.

Random gay marriage opinion…
The entire gay marriage thing could’ve easily been settled by just letting them have civill unions and letting marriage be between a man and a women. I doubt anyone would have been in a serious up roar over gay people getting a tax break, because that’s essentially what the civil union would be giving them. Yes gay people are sinners in the eyes of the Lord but who isn’t? I’m not a gay activist or anything but it only makes sense that they should have the same rights as everyone else. The fact that it’s been scientifically proven that being gay isn’t a choice should also come into play here. Lets be serious, who in their right mind would want to deal with the amount of prejudice that comes with being gay? Can a penis up the booty really feel that good? If morality is the only reason for them getting hated on then what about all the people who have pre-marital sex, gamble, or commit crimes? Just a random thought.

For this election in particular it would have been pretty easy to not vote since neither of the candidates were that great.
