Time to talk Politics, looks like Bush has won. Everyone say who they voted for and why or why they didn’t vote for the other guy or just say whatever…
I voted for Kerry because I don’t feel Bush was a very competent President. His lack of English skills is not something I find very compelling in an authorative figure. I also don’t feel that he has really done anything as President. He lowered taxes which didn’t stimulate the economy meaning he didn’t actually do anything. Going to war with Afghanistan was an obvious choice so no props for that. The war in Iraq seemed very random to me even when it first got started and it has turned out to be totally unnecessary. Freeing the Iraqi people was a good thing but not at the cost of so many lives and the US being allianated from pretty much every foreign country besides England. I also think him focusing on secondary hot topics like gay marriage while the war in Iraq was going on was bullet dodging more then it was a serious issue.
With that being said…I wish the Democrats would have had a better candidate selected as President. I think this could’ve been an easy victory for the Democrats if the would’ve selected a more charismatic candidate. Most Kerry voters probably weren’t voting because they necessarilly liked him and his policies but more so that they just didn’t like Bush and his policies. I was one of the people with that train of thought and I think a majority of Kerry voters were like that as well.
Anyone else got any thoughts and stuff?
OH also…Bush was too conservative to me. I don’t think it’s good for the country to have a president who is so far to the right or left. It leads to a big time lack of sensativity to the other sides concerns.
Hmm another also… I’m a left leaning person moderate who traditionally sides with the democratic party. NOt sure if that needed to be said or anything but i figured i’d toss it on the table just incase.

I agree with you Irv on the fact that Bush is pretty inarticulate, and his foreign relations are shit. However, I do not believe in electing a new leader in a time of war. I agree with everything Bush has done in Iraq, and would like to see a GOOD outcome of the war, rather than have Kerry come in and screw things up. Esp. since there has been so much loss of life. Thats’s the main reason I voted Bush.
Whats going on? I was the one at the November 1 SFIII tournament who had the Akuma Street Fighter pad. Anyway, as for politics here’s the rundown. Bush is a great guy but he’s not the greatest President. Kerry comes off as a scumbag who I wouldn’t trust. So who do I go for? Nader. But since he probably won’t be President, I would have to say I hope Bush wins. While the Iraq war wasn’t the best idea, he is handling it quite well. As for the troops, think about this: A soldier who goes for six months in Iraq is automatically shipped back to the USA with veteran status, which means he probably won’t have to go back to Iraq or just about any war for that matter unless he volunteers. Also, while the military might not pay the most per month, when you’re at war, there’s not much to spend money on. So you get to go home to a nice bit of money. From what my friend in the Marines has told me, it adds up to about $20,000. Imagine having 20k in your pocket to spend. I could buy an Ultracade, Street Fighter Alpha 2 machine, a Neo Geo MVS machine with 5 games of your choosing, and a Street Fighter III machine. And you would still have about $10,000 left over.

Only an idiot would agree with what Bush and his cabinet members have done in Iraq was positive. He is acculturating an Islamic nation, and will eventually rape there natural resources for the American economy. Acculturating Iraq with “American Democracy” will just cause civil wars within Iraq.

Ultracade: not sure of price, SFA2: around 400 for cab and 150-200 for game, neo geo MVS cab with 5 games: 300 for cab, and depending on game is could be 30-100 per game. And a SF3 TS i presume machine would be 400 and sf3 TS would be around 300. Add that up and that’s almost the 20,000 XD.
As for you calling me a scrub, think about what you are saying. First match I played was against the winner of the tournament. At the second match, I started to feel out of it and screwed up. As for Clovis, maybe you ranked with us because you’re as good as us. So stop bitching, you got what you deserved.
