Versus tournaments start at 7:30 Saturday?! I got things to do that night… friends are coming in from Cali, so I’m not staying at Versus until midnight watching tournaments I’ve got no chance at placing in. Might wanna move the times closer to like 4-5:00 for the convenience of, well, everybody.
Also, Chris and Irv make some good points – get-togethers and competition aren’t going to increase with people acting like total assholes to each other every day on a message board. I think a few people on SRK need to stop every now and then and remember we’re talking about video games, not life and death…

While we appreciate the details of your personal life and reasons for not staying too long Saturday, please refrain from your OVERLY suggestive business criticism. You do it on EVERY post you write about versus.
I didn’t go trying to tell you how to run your Smash Bros. tournament last week even though I’m told it didn’t go too well.
We are open to suggestions,but the way you put things in this rather “know it all” (and sometimes obnoxious) way quite frankly can be very irritating. (Most guys on this forum I’m sure would agree.)
I’m not trying to insult you, but I wont candy coat the negative spin you seem to lace every post you write about us. We are NOT competitors. I am an owner, You are a manager. You are mostly a retail store, We are mostly an arcade/lan gaming facility.
If you believe anything you wrote in the latter portion of your post you will surely respond accordingly. Ther is NO REASON we both can’t have/work for successful businesses.

You know damn well you’ve insulted me in every one of your responses to my posts. Don’t act like you didn’t say some really childish shit about 30 pages back because of my ONE post. I don’t have any beef with anyone on SRK really, but the shit you said when I had comments about Versus was ridiculous.
That aside, I don’t see us as competitors, and I really think it’s good that we’re about to have a place like Versus around in BR, like I’ve said from the beginning. Sounds like a great setup. I wish you guys the best of luck – just don’t make the mistakes that Game On did, and for your own sake, stop talking all this insane shit to people that could be spending hundreds of dollars at your place as long as they feel WELCOME.
I’m only suggesting you move the times earlier because people have shit to do. Some guys won’t make it because they have to work at 5:30, some just can’t stay out until midnight playing video games. I think we all want the turnout to be as high as possible!
I dunno how the Smash Brothers tourney went since I was in New Orleans, but if there were problems with the way finals were set up, it’s because customers proposed the tournament and its rules. I do know there were 26 entries though, first place got $80 I think. Not too bad.

I think some of you guys are taking my post the wrong way. I never said to stop trash talking or anything. That’s what Louisiana gaming has been founded on. This stuff is hilarious and should be kept up as much as possible. I just mean we shouldn’t have so many cliques who don’t conversate with the others and things like that. The hatred is great and definately keeps the competative fire goin. I think a big problem with our lack of skill playing 3S and #reloaded out of state is that all the people who play those games are way to friendly to each other. When it comes to Marvel there is a passionate hate that you have for your opponent which keeps you striving to get better. We need more of that in gaming, not less.
