No one ever knows how a new game’s success will be. I’d have to agree to Marvel staying, or at least keep it for the people who plan on playing it.
I mean, I’ve heard that Capcom Fighting Jam’s actually been getting good feedback at the beta tests, so it might not be a broken POS game. Especially with the game being fine-tuned every day. Time will tell, though.

If CFJ doesn’t make people happy then I’ll sell the kit on eBay and put MvC2 back in there. I’ll definitely hang on to Marvel but we don’t have another cabinet to put it in right now, and I’m not replacing 3rd Strike (even though it hasn’t been making much lately). Problem is, Marvel just doesn’t make very much money here – and granted, I know the sticks SUCKED before, but I bet it still won’t make more than $50 next week with perfect sticks.
I’m heavily considering Tekken 5, but if rumors about the machine being $5,000 are true, then no fucking way. On the other hand, I also don’t want to just buy a kit since the original cab has magnetic card and Dual Shock support. But, I would much rather have a brand new Capcom 2-D fighter in my arcade than another Tekken (another series that doesn’t make much here). And, I got the new sticks for the Megalo itself, not just for MvC2. That’s going to be our cabinet for hi-res games in the future… Marvel was just a placeholder until a new game replaces it.
Give what away? Marvel’s already paid for itself, but has proven itself as a pretty crappy earner in general over here. I know it’s tough to have good comp on those weird European sticks we had before, but I’ll be tracking how much it makes over the next month to see if it was just the sticks. I doubt it’s going to make more than CFJ will when we get it.
Actually, it’s the old classics that people haven’t been playing. 3rd Strike, Garou: MOTW, and Marvel have been decent performers, sure… but meanwhile, GGXX #Reload is kicking their asses, and more people get hooked on it every week.
Don’t worry Stone, I doubt I’ll ever sell our MvC2 kit. It’s a game I do want to keep around.
Exactly. Testers with beta copies for the PS2 say it’s a wonderful game with tons of potential and very few balance problems. The consensus is that it’s way better than CvS2, and that works for me.
Kit gets released in Japan Oct. 9th; ours will probably be shipped on the 16th, so we’ll have it by the end of October. :party:
Edit: Pyron and Shin-Akuma are unlockable in CFJ, with more to be announced soon. Fucking awesome.

Well it was bound to happen and now its here! Br has been fiendin for a place to get there game on. A place they can have regular tourneys, decent pots.NO great pots good comp and great controls. Well its here. 3s? We got it, Marvel? We got it? Whatever you want to play well have it from Mario 1, to soul caliber, to the latest fighter. Fighting games, 1st person shooters, Sports, and racing games will be the main genres we will cover So you madden/halo thugs can do ya thang and prove ya worth.
Ima be working there so that means no matter what rain, hurricane, whatever comp will be there, no matter what. Plus on opening day our 1st turny is gonna be no other than that strikeBut wait thats not the best part, 1st place is gonna be taking home BIG CASH and I mean 200$ BIG, 2nd and 3rd to be announced. That means this bring out tha big guns! N.O I expect to see yall in tha place deep opening day. (Or Ill dominate and take the 200 home fa ma self)Pshhh its going down like that if regardless.

Hmmm, a game store run by gamers that has arcade games and tournaments. Sounds familiar… almost as if there’s already a place like this in BR… can’t seem to put my finger on it, though… 
Seriously though, sounds like a nice idea if there’s a customer base to support it. The location isn’t on the best side of town, but it should be cool to play 3rd Strike on a big screen. You guys already have the CPS3 board and everything though? I know it’s pretty hard to find these days.

Ben Monkey has clearly been sippin’ on “Haterade” with this Bullsh-t post. So allow me to put the monkey back in his cage.
First off, there is NOTHING going on at Gameware that is worth copying. You guys are a 3rd rate Gamestop at best with a few arcade machines thrown in to make you LOOK like gamers. I’ve played against you in fighting games before “monkey” (You will know who I am when you come to our store. Remember going over to Ben Kimble’s house when U worked at Babbages/Gamestop with the guys and getting WASHED on every fighting game you played? I pesonally folded U like a lawn chair in 3rd strike and every other fighting game we played that night.)
Secondly, Our location is not in a “bad side” of town like U LIED and said. Broadmoor subdivision and Villa del ray subdivision practically surround it not to mention that it is like 3 blocks down from Sherwood Forest. What a weasly and pathetic effort on your part to TRY and stop people from coming. Get used to us being around. We are going to put you and your patty-cake fests that you try to pass off as fighting game tournaments out of commision.
