You were all up in dat ass first round. In the beginning, if they expect a short scissors then do forward/roundhouse scissors or just wait a second to see if they focus. At the end you should have considered other options to end the round because you could have ended it with 2 meters. What were you looking for when you ex stomped? Was it to punish? For chip? Winning the round is important, but you also have to manage your meter.
@ 1:15 you should keep this in mind for all characters that if they jump and whiff a normal in the air, you can’t grab them because they get free tech. Instead, punish them when they land. @ 1:24 be more mindful of where and when you throw out stomps like that. @ 1:30 know that skull diver is easy to punish. All he had to do was block or focus and he could have easily turned the game around with 3 bars + ultra.
Got any recent offline matches?
When you get your opponent stunned, don’t do neutral jump or whatever attacks, just do a level 3 focus. You get good damage there and they can’t mash out of dizzy.
Also, against Balrog, you should always attempt a focus dash throw. Balrog can’t really hit anything against it except Smash or Ultra. And it’ll keep them guessing against throw, so you might get a free crumple if they flinch. Also, throw all rushes.

I really disagree with the idea of using devil reverse at the beginning of rounds. Even though it’s free meter, I feel that bison is better off trying to gain positional advantage and trying to get into the other persons face. That’s just me tho.
@0:37 What was that scissors for? I’m curious to hear your reasoning. Or was it just an accident?
@1:15 I also disagree with using dash cancel off of scissors mid screen like that. It does help put them in the corner faster and does let you do a mix up, but I would have just went with a light scissors at that point. Again, its just my preference.

You use focuses well but be a little more careful with em like I saw that you just blatantly throw em out sometimes and get punished. Aside from the small things that coulda been fixed, I can tell you know your shit :tup: After all, you are one of the few people that know wtf they’re talking about on the bison forums :looney:

Yeah, usually I just dick around online. It’s a hard matchup for Bison, so I just try to figure out new shit as I play, so I’ll take a risk here and there just to see what works and what doesn’t. Also, that scissors I threw out was on accident. When you charge and walk forward for a pixel and press kick, Bison still does scissors. So you have to be careful with that when you’re walking forward after a charge.
The kid that I was playing in those vids records our matches, so I figured I’d just toss them out there for reference for those that are picking up Bison.
EDIT - Oh yeah, I forgot I started playing against his Chun around June/July. I was still gauging his Chun before the August vids.

Nope i dont have any recording devices, and my offline comp isn’t really that great. Everything ive learned about sf4 so far has been through online matches lol
also: i learned the hard way that skull diver can be punished. I use it a lot more sparingly (although i still use ex stomp as a meaty)

There are a few options for recording.
Cheapest and simplest is getting a Digital Camera that can record video. If you want to add a Tripod Radio Shack has one that’s 20-30 dollars.
If you have a DvD recorder connect your system into that then start recording. Once your DvD is done, you need a Video extractor program for your computer. This will let you upload with good quality and sound.
Lastly a Capture card.

Cant really help u on the gen matchup, but i seen u do a few unsafe sk’s in both matches, and u werent getting punished for them:/
When ur opponent doesnt have meter get a lil more aggressive and go for tick throws. Try focus dashing into cr:lk x3,sk. Its a good way to give yourself momentum when playing footsies since bison dash is so quick most ppl cant react to it.
At times u didnt have to use ex pc and could of saved meter, but aside from that solid play dude.:tup:
In the sakura match you were good on offence but needed some improvement on D. Nice use of c.lk strings. sometimes you were whiffing normals at the perfect range for s.mk so try using that more often.
