Anytime you can hit your opponent out of the air with Centurion Rush, pop XF3 and repeat Centurion Rush.
It ignores the ground bounce limit and in XF3, you can recover fast enough so it combos into itself.
This could work in many places like
Airthrow, OTG :l: Centurion Arts, XFC, Menturion Rush (Repeat)
End air combo with :s:, OTG :f:+:h:, XFC, Centurion Rush (Repeat)
End air combo with :s:, OTG :l: Centurion Arts, XFC, Centurion Rush (Repeat)
I guess I don’t have to respond, Tinacious said everything. Basically, when you get a knockdown do an OTG, XFC when it hits and immediately go into repeated M Centurion Rush’s. The timing between each one is quite forgiving btw.
i’m relatively new but i was hoping i could help (feel free to correct me if i’m wrong :P)
to those asking about the f.H OTG after air magic series… if you see nova walk forward even just a little, your f.H will not hit. and sometimes, even if you hit them 3 times with the j.S, your f.H will not hit either. i find that my f.H will surely hit if i hit the j.S around their feet area in the air (that means they’re higher than Nova). try doing an f.H after a basic “s.LMHS -> j. MMHS” and then compare it when you do an f.H after a “s.LMHS -> j. MMH -> fly -> j. LMHS”. the f.H in the 2nd combo will hit all the time, and i think it’s because you’re descending faster than them because you’re hitting them below.
to those asking about the timing of the fly-unfly H loop… do it slower. my visual cue is after the first H, cancel into flight quickly, then wait for the flight animation to kick in (Nova’s gonna glow or something). Nova goes into flight fairly quickly so this isn’t really a big pause. Anyway, then press your second H. do NOT cancel into unfly immediately. make sure the second H hits first and then unfly (unflying is practically instant) and then hit the last H on your way down. it’s really a rhythm thing, and it goes slower than what it looks like. so you’ll eventually pick it up. but yeah, don’t go too fast or you’ll get a rocket punch H.
i hope that helped!
If the timing any different for the j.:h: relaunch outside of a corner? I FINALLY got the hang of it, but I can only do it in the corner.
You mean the fly/unfly?
It’s easier in the corner. I recommend just learning it midscreen, the midscreen timing works in the corner, and then you don’t have to go through the trouble of breaking your habits from learning it in the corner and having to change the timing for midscreen.
Yeah sorry, the fly/unfly j.:h: combo. Thanks for the tips.
What is the better choice for Fly/Unfly BnB? Right now I’m doing
cr.M, st.S, j.Hxx Fly j.L, j. M, j.Hxx unfly QCB M j.S dpL Super nova (mid screen)
cr.M, st.S, j.Hxx Fly j.L, j. M, j.Hxx unfly QCB L j.L, j. M, j.H j.S and either ending with dpL or if I wan’t to go for a reset I end with F+H, Sxx Javalen (Corner)
I’m working on the H loop but I usually can’t do it completely so I just go
j.H, cr.H, st.S, j.H fly j.H unfly j.H, st.S, j. M, j.M, j.H , j.S dpL super nova.
Should I be using other combos as BnB or are these fine? I can get around 700k damage off them but I there is something better then I would like to know.
What is red life?
Ok it is official Dormammu is my WORST match up in game.
i cant seem to do shit against him with nova.
Zoning pressure is overwhelming and his limbs eat me alive. I feel i loose like 30% of my life in chip only to get close and then i must block the up/down left right mix-up of dorm with assist WITHOUT pushblock or else i eat chip again, rince&repeat.
Any tips to get him and do damage against dorm with Nova?
Would you guys consider Nova to be a good replacement for iron man , they seem very similiar in ny head, nova seems easier execution wise
actually im playing nova because of iron man awful tweaks
I felt exactly the same way.
Not sure about his ability to replace IM as an assist on your team though.
IM unibeam can not be replaced simple as that… but nova hits like a grown man so pick your poison (?)
Well, IM can break 1 million damage much easier than Nova can… good luck hitting anyone with him though.
If your looking for an assist to replace unibeam, Shopping Cart, Greyhound, and Aim Master all work pretty well.
Keep ur air dashes restricted as Dorm can Chaotic Flame punish it easily. As for chipping, if he throws out stalking flare, you can use his high-speed tackle super to go right through and punish. I usually activate X-Factor (if I have it) at this point and kill him off
they dont use stalking flare but build up the meteor liberation (which cannot be hitted out of TT) and the time i block or get hit with it’s either => charge another one or pillar to chaotic flame TT.
What’s the exact reasoning that OTG H whiffs on grounded opponents? I know it works when i fly unfly and make them higher, but what exactly makes it whiff? I’m guessing there has to be a pre determined amount of hits the jump S has to hit for it to follow up properly? Could someone clarify this to me
Generally if the j :s: hits 3 times, you can mash out :f:+:h: as soon as you land and it will hit.
I don’t think anyone has explored the j :s:'s move properties in depth, but the only time they’ll be able to roll before :f:+:h: hits is if they land earlier than Nova does. This might be due to the relative position of the characters in the air or if j :s: fully connects during your air combo.
Here’s my thouhts about j:s:. I noticed if you do you regular MMHS the chances of landing j:s: is slim, but possible. But if you do MMH, Fly, LMHS, each hit pops the opponent a bit higher and then doing :f::h:was much easier.
So now I’m assuming if the opponent is higher than when you do your air combo, the easier hitting
:f::h: will be.
