[Nov 9th, 2011] Fighting Dream Invitational - Toronto - A&C Games

Good day all,

A&C Games and Azure’s Dojang have teamed up to bring you an exciting new event! On Wednesday, November 9th, 2011, 8 members of the fighting game community have been cordially invited to battle it out in a Double Elimination bracket, the winner of which will be rewarded with a $100 pot bonus (whether or not the players themselves will put in money towards the pot has not yet been decided). This event will be streamed in its entirety by none other than TTT_Rxs. Invariably, there will be questions on how the 8 contestants were chosen. As this is an invitational, there were a number of factors that went into my choice and there may arguably be what you consider better players that were not invited. At the end of the day, I made a call as to whom I thought should fight for my donation to the community and I hope this does not sour you to the event. There will be great matches on display and your support would only increase the likelihood of this type of event happening again in the future.

Without further ado, the details:

Can a mod plz sticky this.

Whos everyones pick for top 3?
BET IT

i think it will be heavily dependent on brackets. …

word on the street is that the players will be throwing in $10 of their own cash into the pot. In addition, Buddah-Force is throwing a stick into the mix… this will bring the pot to $180 + a stick~!

as an aside… I will be taking sidebets all night… who’s NICER?

can i shotty commentary?

I’m pretty open to who man’s the mic but I wanna give my boy DaveRo a chance to run through one. We’ll probably end up cycling tho~

PS. Stay tuned for Fighting Dream Invitational Arcade Edition! It’s going down!!!

As per my conversation with Jon earlier today, Omega Collectables will be providing the Winner of this event their choice of 8 Sanwa OBSF-30 30mm Snap-in or 8 Seimitsu Skeleton 30mm pushbuttons so they can make their new stick all shiny and pretty.

Updated original post for new Bonus Prize! Can everyone who has ever been to a tournament or got hype over watching a match play out give yrsf.omega a hug the next time you see him? This man is both generous and an integral part to the fight community!! Thanks for the contribution~!

updated original post~!

I will be having an SSF4 AE Invitational and he opted to play in that one instead. Joker has graciously accepted to fight under such short notice and is, in fact, our opening bout. Stay tuned for the remaining bracket!

yes he is, he’s the one that beat salman a few months ago in an esc tournament and got 3rd. He’s a prodigy of the scene and he’s got a good chance to win this tourney. I hope he does well at the invitational
