[Nov 3, 2012] Bring on the Paign 2 (Urbana, IL)

Only about 5+ years in the making…BRING ON THE PAIGN 2 is finally happening again here in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois!

Back in 2007 we ran a tournament on campus that featured classic games such as mvc2, ST, 3s and guilty gear and got a great turnout from the Midwest FGC! The venue was FREE and we ordered tons of pizzas during the tournament from 5 dollar donations. With all sorts of new games these days I am hoping for another fun event.

Where:
1407 W. Gregory Dr. (park south of the building off a parking lot on Lorado Taft Dr.)
David Kinley Hall room 317 (there is an elevator on the north end of the building)
THERE IS NO VENUE FEE! THATS RIGHT THE VENUE IS FREE! 100% of the pot in games goes to the players and none to us!

In order to park for Bring on the Paign 2 you need to continue to take 6th Street South (its a one way) until you turn left on to Laredo Taft Drive. The end on this little street has a parking lot that you turn right into and David Kinley Hall is right there.

[1200-1499] W Lorado Taft Dr in mapquest should direct you to it.

When:
November 3rd 11am-late

Games:
SSF4 AE 2012 (xbox) $10 dollar entry 2/3 rounds 2/3 match double elim
UMvC3 (xbox) $10 3/5 match double elim
KOF XIII (xbox) $10 2/3 match double elim

Schedule for Nov3rd:

Venue opens at 11am.

Registration starts at 12 noon.

SF4 and Guilty Gear XX AC starts at around 1pm (or when registration and bracket creation finishes). TTT2 may start around this time as well depending on setup availability.

Once SF4 gets to top8(or 4) it will finish on the recording station and UMVC3 will be set up for pre tournament casuals.

UMVC3 and KOFXIII start at around 4pm - 5pm depending on size of earlier tournaments.

More games will be up for consideration (P4A, GG, TTT2, DOA5)

I will hopefully be able to stream this event as well at twitchtv.com/humbag

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

This makes my balls all tingly and shit…

IT’s on like Like Donkey Kong! Like Stacy’s Mom! Like Tubo’s Bong! Like Cheech and Chong! idk where I’m going with this

Dammit, Steve…

I will be needing plenty of donations (all of yall in Champaign gonna need to help) for setups.

I’ll pot monster for all the games and bring a set up. Also, James I thing it might be closer to 6 years. I think the first one was in 2006 when Mike got me into games seriously. Also I’d like to run a $2 HDR or HDR ST rules if you can “teach me how to bracket, teach teach me how to run brackets.”

I believe BotP1 was 2007.

For another game to be added to the lineup there will need to be at least 8 to run the tournament. =P

crapbuckets, got excited to come down for the weekend and pay my cousin a visit, then g/f reminded me that we’re booked with a prior engagement that day :frowning:

Tournament is edging closer and closer. Should be a fun time.

I might do what we did last time and take donations of 5 dollars from people and order a bunch of pizzas. The building is only a few blocks away from main campus areas with lots of different late night food options as well.

Has there been much talk of people showing for TTT2? I’d feel bad if I didn’t come pot monster something this close but I haven’t touched Marvel since C4U and the other 2 since UFGT.

I have had some people asking about tekken but I am still unsure about how many would be showing up.

I would be fine with running tekken if at least 8 sign up for it.

Whatever game gets the most entrants now has a small little bonus to the 1st-3rd placers!

I think there might even be another bonus!

Let’s go!!

Can’t wait for Saturday.

I’m fighting the hurricane from Boston to make it home so I can make this. See you kids there.
