Absolute Battle is back! And we welcome all players to come and celebrate the fighting game culture! The tournament is a 2 day event which will be held at the Holiday Inn Express in the Dallas, Texas area.

This is a South Regional like no other. This is a tournament born out of love for the fighting game community and much passion and work is being poured in to bring you one of the best tournaments of the year. We are featuring the most popular fighting games and for you old school players, we got something for you too.

We are also calling out all players in the nation to come and try and play with the best of Texas and the South!

Really? No SfxT? Huh… people really do hate it. I mean, its transcended the “fad hate” and crossed onto the “actual hate” side. It can’t be helped though. There still isn’t a legitimate balance patch.

Oh well.

They have to give away a car to get people to play it instead of a money pot lol, the sound still doesn’t work right and too many timeout matches. I thought it was just because I sucked but come to find out that’s not the case

Sound works fine offline and very rarely screws up online. Time outs can generally be avoided most of the time if you are half competent and optimize your damage. Also people should avoid putting characters that aren’t mobile on point like Hugo, Heitachi ect. I see some people who use two slow characters. Ofc you are going to get turtled and camped to death, lol. But regardless, Capcom was disgraceful how they handled this game. It has been out a considerably long time and what balance updates we *did *obtain were poorly-implemented. Rolento’s jab was nerfed, but Cammy kept hers. Juri’s super art damage was nerfed, but Hugo is still ridiculous. We had a frame data nerf on Juri’s pinwheels (which is fine btw, you shouldn’t be using them other than desperate tag out or a combo ender) WAY before they nerfed the shoto tasu. Makes no sense, and many Tekken characters are underpowered because they can’t AA well and have terrible footsie games.

Game had potential. Saddening Capcom did nothing with it.

I digress. This is a topic for a tourny. Please let me know if you guys will have it, I would love to attend this otherwise if I don’t get called in to work or anything. : )

We are also please to announce that ‘Doa in dallas #8’ will also be at AB3. Money will be taken at the door for DOA. $10 for the game. You can go online though and pay the $20 venue fee. If not venue fee at the door will be $35. There is a $500 bonus pot. Paying out top 3.

I’m new to tournaments so sorry if this is a dumb question. If someone wanted to come and spectate, do the also need to pay a venue fee if they aren’t competing?

The Corean’s that are going to MLG Dallas for TTT2 are said to be coming to this. Any word if other internationals are coming like the Mexican’s for UMVC3? I recall Taekua used to go to other TX tournaments.

Also is SCV really at the point where it’s $5 entry? I guess it is…

SA Town will be in the house! and whens the last day you think ill be able to get a room at the venue? im not expected to get paid till the 7th or if all else fails ill just get someone else to reserve it

Question about when all this starts it says it starts at 9AM but is that for all games or what? I’m trying to make my way over there but I won’t be able to leave till about 6:30AM from austin to up there.
