I think I can make this. You going to be there sexy kuroppi?

I’ll be there but you won’t, DODGER!

I’m assuming Fatboy will be out of this for this as well?

Cool poster. Wish I could come.

It was a fun event.

The tournament was free, there was very tasty free food and drink, free t-shirts (with the image from the poster), and a lot of very nice gear prizes for 1st-3rd place. Also a skate ramp and skater Pro Willy Santos for anyone wanting to get their skate on.

I know first place prize was:
Arnette Slayer Goggles w/ 2x Lens Options (not sold in stores yet)
Arnette Slayer Glasses (not sold in stores yet)
Arnette Backpack
Arnette Baseball Cap
Arnette Knit Cap
Arnette Wallet
Arnette Cup Holder
Arnette Stickers

Here are the results:
1st Zaspacer (Terry) - Dictator
2nd Megashark (Alan) - Claw
3rd Artemis Prime (Arthur) - Dee Jay/Zangief

It was on an Arcade Cab with American Sticks, and the format was Single Match with Double Elimination. The store that held the event is right off the 5 Freeway, so it’s very easy to get to. And the Beach, Food, Shops, Bars, etc. are all right in that area.

I spoke to the guys running the event, and I mentioned that they might be able to draw more ST players if the event was on a Saturday instead of a Friday. I know getting to North County San Diego at 6 PM on a Friday is pretty impossible for a lot of people. So let me know if a Saturday time would be better, and I can pass it on to them. They seemed pretty open to the idea, and they do plan to hold more of these events in the future.

Also, they have a full time ST Arcade Cabinet (w/ American Sticks) in the store, and it’s set to Free Play and open to anyone who wants to come in and play it whenever the store is open (10 AM - 6 PM Tuesday - Saturday).

The results were posted on the STR site/FB/Twitter after the tournament but I forgot to post them here, sorry about that.

Freeplay? We’re in there.
