Not so well known teams

its one of the most simplest things in MvC2… covering ur assists, i dont use him, but if i had gief i kno i would have to cover his ass and i dont jus leave tronn out there on and island and stay behind her and let her get eaten by AHVB and stuff… besides u should only call assists wen it would actually benefit you not jus drop them all the time and hope they connect… like panda said u wont get my tron with storm and cable on my team that i use wit her, wit storm chances are im rushing you down and i doubt ull drop guard jus to get a hit on my assist and risk and LAxxLS AC or,whirlwinds and HS, bullets grenades and AVB wit cable very few people can get in to do real damage on her

yeah i do agree. all my posts above ^ ^ ^ regarding teams with tron all have her at the 3rd slot… unless you do have a reason to play him 2nd.

yea i learned that too… shes aight but not as a second character… the assist is wat i have her mostly for. so for me any character that i pick jus for the assist goes to the third slot same can be said about cammy, ken, commando and mayb depending on who else u have the team u can make a case for doom.

HELL no, the best team is Omega Red-Beta, Silver Samurai-Gamma, Anakaris-Gamma.

Battery and Keep away + Damage Monster + Confuse Rushdown and Confuse Keep away = Death.

omega red is good with a doom-beta. just my opinion, gives him enough cover.

Storm-progectile/tron-progectile/iron man-AA

i play this team for kicks mainly because my iron man is trash…storm is my best character so she lives long enough to build me as much meter as i need then its air combo lightning storm…tron super where all the little servbots come out…to proton cannon=someone’s dead…then you have tron as your 3rd and iron man on point which isn’t so bad…again this is for kicks although if you had a good ironman could be a decent serious team

i was messing around last night on my PS2 and i came across ironman-anti-air/juggernaut-dash/cyclops-anti-air… a lil weird, smart bomb a lot wit iron man using cyclops wenever to get the infinite… proton cannon dhc to headcrush is very painful and two anit airs to keep juggy pretty rushdown free while hes doin his thing and cyclops of course the staller/DHC fr chip. same cyclops a lot of people use wen they pick him for the assist and put him in the back… also if ur close enough u can probbaly start IM’s infinte off of juggernaut punch since they kinda bounce up after they get planted by him… not a 100% sure though cuz im still learning the infinte myself

well you can inf off of an otg…and juggy punch is definitely otg’able…that team has zero speed if cyke dies youre screwed…but you’d only use something like this for kicks

here’s some other teams i play around with from time to time…

war machine-AA, iceman-proj,dr. doom-AA*i love the chip if ice and war machine rip through characters with block damage

commando-AA, Cammy-Dash, cyke-AA*usually start with either commando or cyke on point cyke is good in any situation commado can make use of the cammy drill…usually can combo from the drill into the captian rush? whatever you call that super

Strider-variety, Hayato-expansion, Thanos-projectile…this team is just fun you’ll get raped by any serious team but strider launch+thanos lk,lk, Hp, into bubble ragnarok is funn and shows off…can combo into hayato’s assist fairly well with a teleport fierce does good damage…hayato super qcf 2p to ragnarok, to any thanos super is fun…

Guile-AA, Gambit-expansion, sent-drones…another fun team also can hold their own against some of the higher teams if you switch sent and guile…Sonic Hurricane+Royal Flush=good damage they are both solid characters

^^^ bananas yeah. yer opponent can be a mashed banana with that lineup. LOL… i’ve also tried Ken/Ryu/Tron - semi shoto

my friend plays for fun omega/ryu/doom… jus for pure fun since doom kinda makes ryu easier to play with since he does so much wit those rocks ryucan get in close with cover and try to set up that shinhaduken

actually i know someone from my local arcade that puts tron second.

But its because they have set ups iwth tron cable anti-air combos…

2nd to get off lunch rush dhc into hvb thats hella killing on people.

I can pretty much guarantee you that configuring their team that way will be a competitive disadvantage. Again, I’m not hating on Tron - I love starting her on point, and the biggest reason I’m still playing Marvel is because I love playing her. BUT! Cable/Tron is significantly a better team than Tron/Cable in that Tron by herself has very limited rush-down ability and gains little from an anti-air assist (she is most helped by projectile assists).

You can certainly do it that way, but you are at a competitive disadvantage if you do it like that. It’s much the same as Mag/Psylocke/Storm - sure, Psylocke has some great combos with Storm-A, but if you’re mashing on your assist (or even using your assist), they’re going to benefit from the extra recovery afforded by being put in position 3. Plus Tron has a great alpha-counter, so just counter her in if you need to.

I just can’t see any defensible reason why you would put Tron 2nd. Every character in the game, bar none, gains more from her assist than she does from their assist. The two possible arguable characters are Sentinel-Y and Doom-Y, but even there they both have mobility that she desperately lacks. shrug

EDIT: Trying to get back on topic: Amingo-Y/Jin-expansion/Thanos-bubble is actually surprisingly good. Try it: I copied the team from somebody in California, and it almost always beats people the first several times they play against it.

trons assist…is hits like a freakin’ super if you get all of it…hell it just might take more energy that most supers…

Doom/Anakaris-throw/Cykes

Basic doom keep away stuff, use cykes AA to set up free Air combos > APA.
Use Anak’s throw to set up assisted reset combos with doom using the fk XX dash trick and fly/unfly

ex:
**c.lp, c.lp, s.fk, call anak XX fly XX unfly. **
If anak grabs, dash back x 2 > launch…
All the opponent can really do to avoid anak is jump straight up, which doesnt leave them a lot of options, unless A) they’re sent or B) they superjump. Anak and doom are too far away for an AA to hit and if it avoided, SJ with doom > photon array to cover Anak.

J.lp [GB], dash back, call Anak.
Same thing as above. again if they jump or anak misses, cover with SJ photon array.

Launch, sj. lp, lk, lp, lk, FK (whiff) XX dash back + Anak, anak grabs, land, OC.FK > lp, lp, APA.
…DHC in FK, LP, down, Lk, FP super…(forget the name).

DHC is really needed since the reset does a shit load of damage.

…still working on my Anakaris. I abuse the assists alot. Use cykes to set up AC > super or sj. Idle hands. Use dooms rocks as cover. s.lp, s.lp + doom, s.fp, Idle hands (duckable). If its ducked, dooms rocks will cover you, dash-dash > overhead…etc.

cable is really a menace with those 2 assists. can’t run away, can’t rush in.

Some of the teams I’ve played as in the past:

OR/Sent/Doom, Cyke, or Jin AAA.

Jill/Sent/Tron - fill the screen with drones, zombies, dogs, and crows + assist killing with Tron.

Spidey/Sent/Cyke - Spidey rushdown with Sent Rocket Punch assist… excellent setups for MS and UWT.

OR/Colossus/Tron - Build meter with OR and bust out Colossus/Tron.

pretty much play her last UNLESS you have doom or sentinel and know how to use them to tick tick tick.

well you don’t wanna mash cobra rush, you may be getting lucky but you have to actually press the buttons a certain way correctly. yes ana/storm doll infinite

but ana/son/tron is more fun :slight_smile:

my own craptacular team morrigan/shuma/iceman all on balance. and I have beaten good players using top tiers with this team. One time I accidentally picked the wrong assist for shuma where he does the mystic smash, but it’s pretty useful. you can’t really do ground combos and rush down as much, but you can launch and knock them into the assist>kk super. you have some infinites to work with too, also you should get your oponents pissed off at how many times you grab them with shuma and iceman

of course megaman/roll/servbot. must be careful but megaman is solid and you can do some pretty good trapping/chipping.

Where is the Team Shoto love?

Oh wait, that team sucks, but they are still fun! =D
