? I thought DR was 5.1… What’s the difference, then?
Alex: I meant DR. I personally believe the Seattle area has a strong player base, and I’m letting my personal preference influence my say on the matter. Besides, I don’t have faith that all that many portland CVS2 players would show up. Canada would bring a few, and utterly dominate the tourney. I suppose it’s strong enough, though.
Also, if CVS2 goes, then run it on PS2, not DC. They’re identical in gameplay, but the timing is different enough to mess with execution pretty hard. I can’t go from PS2 to DC and still get cr.lp>st.lk>fierce shouken at all.
We also should find a way to get more DVR’s or at least camcorders, I wanna see some casuals as well as some preliminaries, not just semis and finals… you never know when a really awesome match that deserves to be recorded will happen (ex: all of Pablo’s matches at Random Select…)
yeah, I’d want at least 3 setups with recording capabilities
-2 for any tournament matches we feel are worthy of recording
-1 with two videos cameras set up to record player reactions (for semifinals/finals)
I’ll be there whenever this goes down, I can cover one or poss. two cam-dameras for either live shots or to be hooked up directly as a dvr.
-Its kinda what i do…
Those are a some good choices of games, but I think that by the time this comes together, VF5 may have gained big enough following by then. I don’t know anything about the planning going on around this, but I would like to help if I could. I worked as an event planner for a year at my old college.
Does anyone have an idea of when this might happen?
As it stands, this is all still in the brainstorming stage. Nothing has been set yet. I think the main problem for us up here is venue related. Where would we hold it? It has to be a place that isn’t very expensive I would think.
Yeah every place Pabloz and Axels have called costs insane duckets to rent, the Random Select people were lucky that their venue was free… it’s understandable we’re not making more headway…
What would really help would be to set a meeting where everyone who was interested in really helping and planning this could show up, and you could set a time table for exactly what needs to get done, when things need to get done by, and start to figure out an estimated cost for how much this will be to pull off. You could set the date for the event as far as a year out, just to give yourself a lot of time to figure things out, and adjust it as things develop. (A year might be a good idea anyway.)
Setting a meeting will also let people who want to plan this know who is really committed to making it happen by seeing who is interested enough to show up to a planning meeting in person and work on it.
