Actually, I think one of the ways that 5v5 team members were decided in the past (at EVO) was to give the title of “captain” to one high level player, and let that player determine decide the team members. It’s more arbitrary, but things get done easier this way. You can have ties in a round robin, and superior players can have an off showing. Just a thought.
Duplicate characters should be allowed. Less variety but more skill.

I don’t think character variety is an issue for us, I can only think of a few who use the same characters.

What I meant is jason wouldn’t enter a tournament with chun-li. He usually opts for oro, because he doesn’t like her, and because he sucks with her.
Posting to say I’m down for 3s and Marvel, don’t care if I’m driving 300 miles or 400.
If you rent out the one of the main auditoriums at the Seattle Convention Center, that would probably be enough to hold everyone and I don’t think there is a time limit on how long you can stay. But then again, that may be some serious dollars to rent that place. As for a title, something with Rain City, or just Rain would sound cool and would be unique to Seattle.

Does anyone here attend either NSCC or Shoreline? Even better if you were a member of a gaming club there. I ask because the parking situation would be infinitely easier if we were to hold an event there. If UW were to allot a room in the HUB (or just about any other building in the Seattle main campus), not only would parking cost a chunk, the social event buildings are usually nowhere near the parking lots.
Still, can’t knock a free venue and equipment. So if you can get one, go for it. Wherever it might be.
