Glad to hear it. Just expressing possible concerns for the not so fortunate that live abroad.
regarding the website: i host it, but i’d rather not be the one responsible for designing/updating it this year (brent updated the registrations last year, thanks for that)
anyone good at web design want to take a crack at it?
That’s actually what I was banking on. PAX 2010 is Sep. 3rd - 5th. If we can have it a day or two before that, maybe some people will travel here a day or two earlier to get into the Northwest Majors and then go to PAX.
Eh, PAX is always on a weekend, so your best shot would be the weekend before and that adds a tremendous expense if you are staying the entire time (hotel for the trip, using vacation/time off for it/etc). I think we would want to space ourselves from PAX as much as we can, and to be quite honest, the people going to PAX aren’t necessarily the same people going to NWM if the SF4 tourney last year is any indication.
QFT!
This was mainly what I was getting at. Keep in mind, these are just ideas/concerns/suggestions, nothing I say has any bearing on the event.
we really need to advertise this early this year. Passing out flyers and shit at evo, or just getting the word out would be good. we need as many people to come out to this as possible.
there is a whole other room that could be used adds another ~1000sq ft. parking wise, it’s really not that hard. I think I walked further in tacoma for NWM last year then I’ve ever had to to go to canoe.
If we get streaming going on a weekly or even semi-weekly basis we can advertise it on that as well.
Yeah, now that I thought about it more, I think there would be more benefit in hosting Northwest Majors quiet a time before PAX. You guys are right - the demographic is totally different judging from last year’s PAX SF4 turnout. Beginning of August maybe or late September are my suggestions then.
I don’t care if ya’ll get a venue on the moon, nigga, I am in there. Word bond.
Two day tourney? I’m with that. I’ll bring my wife up (I think), and we’ll get blitzed with the rest of Team Seattle.
If it’s 2 days, I would definitely love to have some kind of a 3 v 3 tourney.
I’m all for two-day event.
Any chance of Guilty?
5v5 is where it’s at, last year was mad hype. Then we might even get a Cali team up here. I’m pretty sure Utah was showing interest too.
The idea to distribute fliers at Evo sounds promising. Hit me up before Evo with a stack, and I’ll pass them out too.
TvC. I can put up flyers at Nintendo’s Kirkland and Redmond facilities, as well as downtown seattle area bars.
yeah, this is tight. Depending on when the fliers are made, we( or @ least I ) can take some to Westcoast War Zone in April. and some of us our going to Devastation in june, so we can spread the word there. in opinion, a two day event has the potential to draw more out of towners as well.
I think a 2 day tournament is going to be awesome!
Best believe there will be a stream!
I know that Mandel and I have been kind of randomly talking about it humorously, but didn’t have anything set in stone, but would anyone want to see an epic NW MvC2 rivalry come to a dramatic conclusion between Mandel and the Chocolate Rocks of Doom vs the double m? Two elders of Seattle Marvel ending their historic war of button mashing and scrubbing out with a not-so-epic FT10 on a big screen?
Ill probably go, is this gonna be in tacoma or Seattle?
o && mastermind im always down to watch people who kno what theyre doing play MvC2!
