I have a few questions and things I’d like to point out, please don’t take it as rabble rabble…
What’s the wishy wash" situation? The way I see it, you have all the power and pull in the situation, especially when merely requesting communication or information. We are the money. You ask a question, you get an answer. If not, we’re gone.
I think it’s clear that we need a host/home for Twars, but if they’re not providing then let’s move on and set up camp elsewhere. Don’t lose sight of the pure idea amidst the ego. concept of providing a community from which our scene can grow, and keeping this all alive is all that really matters. Twars and NWM3 are massive events for our region that need to get back on track asap, not to mention the always open question of singles tournaments, exhibitions, etc.
I honestly feel that it’s really about time we got over the…whatever it is, and utilized the Gameclucks venue. It’s one of the most important venues of our region for console gaming. (and with Lanwerx and the like long since extinct, possibly the only)
Chris and Gameclucks, despite a bunch of petty talk from select players within our scene, have always been providing for the competitive players in the NW.
From providing a place; to play, to compete, to run events; to organizing major tournaments here and in Cali to represent our region and our players in their respective games.
Hosting major tournaments and making sure that top players from out of state and around the country attend? Been done.
Organizing tournaments and leagues that SEND the winners out to represent, compete, and test their abilities? Been done.
How important are the two points above to the growth of a scene? Massive. And with all the buzz of a potential MLG pickup for SSF4, why wouldn’t we get involved?
Get over it. Whatever ‘it’ is. Want to keep offline gaming alive in the NW? This is one of our last and best resources, drop the egos and work together. Location, distance, other scenes, the past…if we’re really looking to move the scene forward, then none of these things really matter as much as they’re made out to be.
Don’t lose sight of the original, inspired and unbiased intent. It’s not about “I”.

It seems like Frank made a best faith effort in arranging BW as a site, and that’s probably failed. Maybe if “other people” think they can solve the location problem, they go make that happen. Otherwise I don’t think this is going anywhere. It’s all fine and dandy to cry that someone (in this case Frank) can work some super magic and solve your problems for you, but before you post up that Magic Frank can solve this (and he may be blocked right now), why don’t you do it?
That’s what a community is. It’s not riding one person like your personal bitch. Multiple people working together is a community.
If you have a location that works, get the wheels in motion and report back. People riding Frank on this are either stupid or dicks. :tup:

Seeing/Hearing about how well some of our players did at EVO really makes me sad that this is cancelled. I hope this can get back on track. Especially since Frank has TWs straightened out for this season. Let’s pull together to make this happen.
I’m pretty new here and been just mostly lurking for the most part, but I’m pretty sure I can help out with the location problem. I have a few friends that work the front desk and one in management at Hotel Murano/the old Sheraton Hotel in downtown Tacoma,I could talk to them and see what’s the pricing and everything else if anyone is interested
