Cancellation fee? I think your post is being overlooked because Iāve never heard of a cancellation fee for a regional event ever. The only place you may receive a cancellation fee is at Evo and they still only just take your money with no refund.
My bad about the whole pointing out the looting thing. Itās definitely a pretty regular thing at every tourney but the level of stuff stolen last year for me was unheard of for me compared to any other tourney I had been to. It almost gets you to the point where youād think SRK peepz are in the mix. For the recordā¦my bro did get his stick stolen last year just before he left so thatās why Iām a bit more vocal about it than I probably would be othewise. I tell him all the time that itās totally his fault for getting it stolen despite the thieves that run around. Like everyone has saidā¦the jist is to not leave your shit waiting for the devil.
So to end on a positive note and wellā¦end my bitch ass thief rants lets have another great year at Evo and I think I wonāt have to pay for hotel stay this year.

Each event i.e. Tournaments, Conventions and special event should have a mandatory minimum of one can food goods along with entry fee to the venue or event.

Each event organizer and or administration should collect all can goods and pack them up in card board boxes and store them in a safe location.

Then each organizer and or administration should ?Google? their local City Food Bank; contact them and make preparations to deliver all can goods. Example (NYC Food Bank)

Finally in a letter, inform your local Food Bank or the *American Red Cross (*Financial Donations only) of the community in which you represent and a list of all the gamers that contributed. NOTE: Please send a copy of the list to GivingBack@EmpireArcadia.com so it can be complied for a post article called ?The Gamers Thanksgiving? in November.
This simple plan is not exclusive to video game tournaments, events and conventions or anyone in the United States. Any gamer in the world whether professional or amateur, work in the video game industry such as Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony, can all get involved in this food drive. The mission is to gather 1 Million cans of food before Thanksgiving, so that we as people not just gamers can help to feed as many unfortunate people in the World as possible. Of all the organizations to pick you pick the American Red Cross?
The same organization that has to be constantly pressured and fined by the FDA to keep their shit updated when it comes to the blood supply? Their most recent fine was for US$1.7 million (June 2008). The fines are for things like unsuitable blood and itās improper re-release, and both are separate charges.
This is the same organization that after 9/11 took donations to help with our fellow New Yorkers who were in serious need and gave a large sum of the money received from people willing to donateā¦ to people who were merely inconvenienced by the towers falling. American Red Cross created the Liberty Fund to help out specifically with 9/11 victims and only 30% of the US$500 million or so that was collected was spent for standard disaster relief.
This is the same organization that had fraud like mad amongst their contractors and volunteers in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Why canāt our money go to something related to gamers, such as the Childās Play Foundation which has gained a lot of steam since it has started, and is something far more important than lining some more pockets of a huge, well known charity?
Or should we not take care of the next generation? Those who will replace us deserve their rights too - and let me tell you, hospitalization is a terrible thing for a little kid to go through.

I am not here to argue either.
I am saying that I donāt find it wholesome and I actually lose respect for you and Empire Arcadia as a whole for not doing your research on charities and throwing out the name of the American Red Cross in a post on your own website instead of a lesser known charity that would most likely use the donations in a proper manner, and one that isnāt marred by controversy, misappropriation of funds and things of that nature.
Itās not listed as an example on your site, itās listed as the charity tournament organizers should send their donations to, and then send your people correspondence about the matter.
I was in an apartment fire in July. Lost my home and most of my clothes. Who was there to help me? The Red Cross. Chester/Swarthmore Red Cross was on scene offering vouchers for a hotel room, food and clothing. Dude was there in his vest & hard hat before the second alarm companies were on scene. He worked his ass off to make sure me, my roommate, the downstairs neighbors, and the old racist neighbors that were calling him every thing but the special ānā word were taken care of.
So American Red Cross gets +1 rep. They do great work. And every company of that size (and even that are much smaller) have managerial and organizational problems. But when the rubber meets the road, the American Red Cross was there for me. And as someone whoās worked emergency services, itās very easy to Monday Morning Quarterback a disaster.
