I didn’t know you had to have rep before announcing an event. Anywho, the name is Oz. After going to Absoluste Battle that was held in Richardson last December and hearing about FC and GOONZ i wanted to try out something of my own. I undersatnd it seems a little shady, especially with all of the secrecy, but I assue you its legit. We will try to have these events weekly, so worst case senario you won’t attend this time but will hear about our next event soon afterwards-we’ve actually been having them for the past 6 weeks, but we’re decided to change locations and expand a little more as we started to grow

edit: It helps if you are known to the community when promoting events. I think there was a money fiasco at some denton tourney this past weekend. Generally most of the community knows each other in some way. Where do yall have your gatherings now?
Unless you are going to setup a scene in Arlington, literally in the middle between Ft. Worth and Dallas, you probably wont get many players. Most of us live close to Goons or FC and attend those. You might be able to get a few that live in the middle between FC and Goons though.
IMO the biggest chance for any scene whatsoever that isn’t on the weekends and not at Goons or FC is if you setup something at UTA. We already have a few people that play nearly every Tuesday/Thursday. I know I’d be down to play pretty much every day if we could get enough quality competition there (the smashtards like to try to play and it’s just a waste of everyone’s time, I roll my eyes when it’s their turn on the stick and I know Bracken gets the same “what a waste of time” look on his face when they play as well).

Btw I’m all for new nights for gaming but it may be a mistake to have several gatherings all on the same night. It divides the scene. We want lots of ppl playing together not just a few “cells” of 10 or so ppl. It’s easier to share information, have QUALITY (quality is NOT 10 or so ppl!) tournaments, and fun!
