I had a good time this weekend, kinda disappointed in the way i got put out of sf4 in i believe 17th place. It’s hard to say this without sounding insulting to steve h, but my rog wouldve beaten him if i coulda played on xbox, ps3 pad i cant do shit.
Shoutouts to my fellow beast pad players Rico Suave and Inthul(fei long) they also got deep playin xbox and were eventually forced to play ps3 and got bodied. Shoutouts to citiofbrass, illz, dr. chaos, chaotik, d nyce, kdz, jinmaster, fab, kreymore, chemistforhire and everyone else i chilled with this weekend. I’ll be learning stick from now on so I won’t have this problem any more. Good shit to everybody tho and congrats to eric on running this shit so well and finally makin some dough doin this shit =]
i am updating the 1st post as people are posting their results. afaik eric keeps all the brackets and he will probably post the full results when he is able to. you have to remember he’s probably tired as fuck after a weekend such as this. with that said, he also didn’t give me the paper that i had with all the 3S team names, as such, i’m not able to relay it =( …moving on…
first and foremost is the big thanks to eric for another amazing year. without your [and your family’s] tireless contribution to our community, we wouldn’t have such a great event to attend. i skip out on countless tournaments every year, but i always make it a point to attend NEC.
the players, in times of shitty economy, you guys still spend that money to come and indulge in our favorite pastime with friends and strangers alike. i hope your spirit of competition never goes away.
as always, i enjoy running third strike as smoothly as i possibly can [the help of a mega-phone this year was gdlk, no more fucked up throat midway through the tournament]. to those who disagree with my methods, i apologize but schedules must be met and the tournament must move forward. unfortunately it is not my responsibility to make sure that you have ample amounts of sleep. i hope everyone else enjoyed it, and i apologize for the occasional hiccups. as you can imagine, multiple games running with people playing them usually means that there will be absentees when matches are called. such is something we must accept and endure.
sweetjohnnycage and co, you guys are amazing. thanks for letting me crash in your room, i was tired as fuck! it’s truly amazing how low some people in our community can be. the same thing occurred at final round this year. a friend of mine got his shit stolen from his car as well. i hope everything works out in the end.
to everyone who played third strike, you guys are all amazing. i hope you guys never stop because the game really is the best fighter. the haters just can’t deal with the work that must be put in to appreciate it. everyone who came has my appreciation, and i honestly can’t type out every single player because i know i’ll forget. but i love you guys until next year. and bring your friends

@ verify. Yeah unfortunately there isn’t a whole lot of accommodating for xbox only players at majors. I really respect people like u and rico suave who can actually use that thing competitively because I personally think the xbox 360 dpad is about as uselessky designed for sf as it gets. I don’t even know how you double tap or piano anything on those mushy buttons.
Most majors are done on ps3 to accommodate for veteran players who have old custom arcade ps1 arcade sticks that require a cheap converter to work on ps3. Basivally whatever evo says is standard is what they will go by. It would b nice if there could be.a middle ground since there is literally a community of xbox only sf players. I just don’t see that happening anytime in the future without a ton of trouble and time wasting for tourneys. For now you’ll just have to be unfairly unprepared.
Oh and props on u almost beating steve. He is a veteran player of sf and is a challenge to beat in any sf game. He’s the top player that people don’t always talk about. If he played sfiv more often he’d be even better but he prefers the older games like most veteran players in the md area.
Hallo, that was me! It was nice to meet you too, I had a great time playing everything. Disappointed the Fighter’s History D tourney fell through and that I never got to run the RB2 or Magical Drop tournies either, AND I regret skipping out on some stuff just because I was in a bad mood, but I had tons of fun in everything I did! If any of you are ever down in the Maryland area and feel like playing some weird old random games or more typical fare ala SF 4, give me a buzz, I’m always up for it!
