yea i apologize for that i tried my best to get people’s shit together for it but this is what happens when you try to be nice at tourny’s
yeah i dont think anyone is the bad guy in this situation and shit always happens at majors. im glad you took time out to run the tourney because that shit looked hectic and stressful as hell. i think the littlest mistake (i was told to ONLY put my team name down at the registration desk) was what cost us the most. just a warning to tourney heads: keep names of the players and their team on a separate sheet so you know who to look for/bitch at.
also a warning to tourney entrants: IF YOU ARE GOING SOMEWHERE, TELL THE PERSON RUNNING THE TOURNAMENT otherwise KEEP YOUR ASS IN PLACE OR HAVE A FRIEND STANDING THERE FOR YOU. this kind of sucks when playing something like tekken across the entire hotel, and the situation wasnt too great for everyone, but after going to majors for so long, if you get DQed in singles its almost always your fault. yes it requires a lot of stamina, man up.
And wether or not your stuff gets returned, press the hell out of those charges. Get that trash in jail with their life ruined.
GUTTER TRASH.
i would be really surprised if they found the guys and even moreso if they got their stuff back. a grainy parking lot camera shot of someone somewhat far away walking up to a car, disappearing inside it, and then leaving the picture afterwards doesnt seem all that helpful, assuming it was captured at all. from everything i’ve ever heard the police usually start an “investigation” because they have to, but they really just file it away unless they hear something about it or somehow stumble on it. even with stolen cars all they can usually do is just run plates if they see anything suspicious, so imagine how much less realistic it would be that they’ll be able to find sticks and ipods.
it’d be cool if they did get caught though since that would at least make me feel a little more secure going to tournies in the future. i realized on my way home that my 360 was sitting out on the floor of my car and would have been plainly visible to anyone that looked in the window. i locked the doors but who knows how much that really helps. i guess i got lucky.
I appreciate the sentiment, but I’m hard pressed to say it was your fault at all. I didn’t feel it necessary to address this issue, but since it’s been brought up I guess I’ll say a few words.
In my opinion, the room wasn’t big enough for this event to be ran comfortably. This caused the majority of problems for me personally and I know others as well. There was so many things making noise. So many people to bump into and no places to walk. It’s barely possible to make good communication in this environment.
I understand that Eric in fact had a bigger room but was dicked out of it.
Overall, I feel I had an unfortunate time this year. It sucks having to drive for 10+ hours on a budget only to be DQ’ed after playing one match in teams (I only played once on the team, the team played 3-4 matches). After our first lost, I dipped out cause I was salty, hungry and didn’t wanna be in that crowded room. One of our teammates was still there while they were calling for us, but he was playing guilty gear. There’s no way anybody could have known this.
Another thing that’s tough. I’m sure that everyone can agree that between hdtv’s, crt’s, 360’s and ps3’s there are many problems associated with in game time and controllers. It would seem clear to me that everyone notices some sort of difference between 360 and ps3, and I feel sure that the asus tv’s are not the same as CRT. Then you got guys like rico sauve that can only play their best on xbox pad. There’s really no efficient way to fix these issues either. It’s just tough.
With that said…Hold Dat Shit Shokbok…
As far as the room being to small i agree with you on that, but its HARD as hell to get a nice hotel with a decent size ballroom for cheap in a major city which Philly is, other hotel i check with wanted over $3000.00 per day with only a 8 hour window to run the tournament, and as soon as i say video game tournament i here the tune in their voice change(neg That is) on the other hand the sheration might be small but its the first place i dealed with that actually WANTS us there and i love that:lovin:.
Crt and Asus and Ps3 will be the stand tv/monitor and system used for necXI.
I feel you pain about the DQing Jibbo sorry about that.
And the first hotel that Nec9 had a much Bigger room but it was a RAT hole and i couldnt trust the staff/ management or owner. Power going out i had to fix all kind of shit i had to deal with. And they tried to triple the price on me this year.
Long story short i know what went room this year and i WILL FIX IT, so i hope you and the other players thats upset will come back next year, i’m a man and i know how to apologize—so sorry to all you players.
I don’t want to have to charge a $40.00 venue fee no cool at all.

Eric: I don’t believe I thanked you personally during the event like I usually do, so a big thanks goes out to you and your hard work in putting this together for all of us.
Same goes for the staff too.
I will win it if it happens. I wanted to do it at nec x but i was too broke.
yo son I got to fight justin wong! even though I lost my 2 matches back to back
I don’t even care… I got to fight J wong finally! I made top 16 which was my goal for
the whole thing, so I’m good. I know the next time I fight people of his calibur
won’t probably be until EVO, which is wack, cause don’t nobody play THAT GOOD
online, which is where I rely on most for getting character match up experience and
stuff. But I’ll use what I have for continuing to improve, because not by far, is NEC
the last you guys seen of me… OR GOUKEN! HAHAHA!!!
Thanks man that feel great to hear that.
