KOFXIII > every Capcom game made after CVS2
In terms of playing in tournaments and supporting the community for said game? Pretty much at least 90% of the [S]state[/S] country.
If KOF in the US is so weak, then by all means pick it up and make it stronger.
I don’t understand how people can complain about skill level in a game they don’t play and yet present the attitude that they don’t need to understand the game or get better themselves.
90% of the KOF players I’ve met do play Capcom games, unlike 90% of Capcom FG players who don’t play any other games.
I also remember back when everyone was only playing 3rd Strike despite the fact that most people didn’t like the game, and watching 3S EVO finals basically was the first official cure for insomnia in Western history.
Then those same people moved on to SF4 and MvC3, while hating and complaining about those games too. So playing a bunch of Capcom games for years despite not actually enjoying the games on any internal level while blatantly refusing to play anything else? Sounds like brainwashed zombie behavior to me.
Kinda getting tired about it because people don’t see it but once again, this isn’t a new game. It’s vanilla marvel with air x factor and no DHC glitch. It took all of a week, or no time at all, to adjust with the old characters, because frankly they just aren’t changed that much for most of the cast. Zero, Doom, and Wesker off the top of my head all do more damage than they previously did with better tools. It’s not some magical fix that will make everyone love the game finally. You’re still gonna get crossed up into a teleport mixup and if you block that you probably have to block like 3 more mixups to get back to neutral and if you get hit you’re either dead or eating a reset into death. It’s the same game. If you enjoy it, you enjoy it. I have fun with it but I do think the game is bullshit. Just know now that since there are more teleport characters and no invincible assists to stop them from going ape shit, that stuff is going to run the game.
Just looking forward to 13 where people have to somewhat earn their wins myself. Sure, people can do those crazy combos later in matches but atleast they take some skill to perform, as far as I can tell, and you can atleast… mostly react to what the other guy is doing. You’ll have to actually outplay someone to win.

And honestly, the scene is looking pretty good to me… At EZ, the KOF XIII setup was getting played non-stop, and we already have people who are planning to go to a KOF XIII launch gathering on Tuesday… If you want to play KOF, the best choice of action would be to play with these people who are already playing the game… It’s a much better option than of refusing to play because you think the scene is weak or because you think people will drop the game in a month.
You wouldn’t believe the amount of shit talk Mexican say about American players.

Ultimately, if you’re a KOF fan, care about KOF. Don’t worry about whether other games do well, worry about your own backyard. If KOFXIII fails, or if I fail KOFXIII, I’m done with 2d.
I wonder how much cheaper it is to buy salt in Mexico than in the US.
Good lord, what the hell do you know about skill? You don’t seem to have any grasp on what you’re supposed to do in a fighting game. You mash constantly no matter what you’re playing, and don’t seem to understand that when you’re new you need to stick to one game until you understand anything about it. What the hell qualifies you to talk about skill in any sort of fighting game at all?
When good players talk about a fighting game, people listen, because they know what they’re talking about. This gives Jon’s argument a bit more weight (although I’m 100% sure we’d be hearing different shit had he placed 1st rather than 2nd), but it all goes back to the same key point; it’s Marvel. I like it for the same reasons I did before; it’s unforgiving as fuck, and you feel your mistakes in a drastic manner. Everyone complaining never brings up the source of the problem, that being that they got hit in the first place, something YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO IF YOU WANT TO WIN IN A FIGHTING GAME.
If you honestly think KOF13 won’t have a massive amount of bullshit, you’re completely naive, both to the series as a whole, and to fighting games as a genre. One last thing; if it, somehow, doesn’t have any bullshit in it, nobody will play it.
I really don’t see why the amount of people playing a game even means shit especially if you’re going to play the game and bitch about everything it has and even more so if you’re just a local pot monster who doesn’t even do good locally. I would admit that I played AE a little bit longer than I should have with the past two months i’ve just been burning out of it to the point i’m at now where I can’t even touch the game and that’s fine because even if nobody touches 3s (not happening though, pretty popular game lol), KOF13 and AH3 then whatever i’ll still be playing it and having fun till the next fighter comes out.
Launch party at tuesday gamefrog, i’ll be there around 7 with three setups. I’m gonna get a dedicated training mode setup for Jon though with one of them but after he’s done anyone can use for whatever. I’ll have the hd camcorder and so on.
Just a reminder that this Wednesday at the ReSe Bar Fights I am going to have a tourney for KoF XIII. Make it out if you can. This game is so hype and is very good.

It’s not just the tournament placings, just the dumb shit I was seeing all day. Before it was like what, Dante / Wesker / Phoenix / Wolverine that had the silly full screen cross up stuff, now like half the cast has it.
Dante, Wesker, Phoenix, Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Strider, Vergil, Rocket Raccoon, Captain America, Zero, Dormammu, etc etc to name a few have all been geared towards this, or even more so from vanilla in the case of the last 3 I named. Just salty about the direction they took the game. And XF3 still being retarded.

From what I’ve been hearing, only the Japanese version of KOF got delayed. So the US version should be out tomorrow. I also checked Gamestop’s website, and it also says the release is the 22nd.
There was never at any point confirmed or mentioned by Atlus or even SNK’s american branch that the game was going to be delayed, especially when there was counter confirmation after that incident from several atlus reps that the game was coming out tuesday (and so tuesday will be the launch party date).
But yea Japanese got delayed for whatever reason. I’ve heard this sometimes happens in Japan due to shelf space.
Oh sweet, KoF it is then tomorrow! Can’t wait.
Also this is random but there was a guy I did like 10 money matches with at evo because he kept wanting to play me, turns out it was DiosX, I had no idea till I saw him on the front page today lol
Some Gamestops are confirmed to have it. Plan on picking mine up tomorrow after I get up.
What I think will make KOF work is that everyone looks beast in that game. I’m going to have to figure out a day 1 team fast though.

Accounts I’ve heard are that he’s so strong that people aren’t even sure if he was meant to be tourney legal, but I think that’s something that should be decided after significant play-time.
