The thing is, I want to actually play Vergil, not just have him on my team and then if things go south, I get to play him stupid. So anchor Vergil isn’t on my list for the time being. I like him second, that way I can build some meter for him for Spiral Swords. That is seriously one of the best hypers in the game.
For Doom anchor, with XF3 you just super jump, Photon Shot L, air dash or Foot Dive behind it, tada, you’re in. I would run Doom second if I were more interested in his playstyle, but right now, he’s there for Plasma Beam. With Strider and Dante, their ability to self assist is somewhat limited. With Dante at least, you need room to set up his slower projectiles so he can use them as a setup for teleports. He’s a good anchor, but if you want to run him like that, he’s better with an assist. You just have more options when you have an assist behind you. Strider is a bit different because of Ouroboros, I haven’t really messed with it. I’m sure it’s great in XF3, I just want to actually play Strider. His low damage doesn’t bother me, provided I can keep up the pressure, which he seems to be perfectly suited for. Remember, HOS player here. If I get to knock you down and/or pressure you, the damage doesn’t mean as much to me. Especially when I’m building bar for Vergil.
I think people will have to change their approach to Ultimate somewhat. People are still playing it like Vanilla and looking for the easy kill combos. I see people in the Vergil forums trying really hard to crack his damage limits without burning a ton of meter, and he just doesn’t work that way. It might be possible eventually, but it just doesn’t feel like a productive use of time when the game just came out. Figure out your strats first and then max your damage.
Bad news guys, due to an unexpected bill I can’t go to Fayetteville this weekend. Sorry to anyone I was planning on giving a ride to. Good luck to everyone that is able to make it to Fayetteville.
Yeah I agree on Vergil in spot 2, that’s where I’m running him (or on point with firebrand behind him. Dimension Slash into that FIrebreath Super work amazing together). I think Firebrand’s OTG also helps combo off random j.2H and shit. I hate how the multi hit assists scale the combos to all fuck now. Combos off jam session assist seem to do nothing at al. Eye of Agamatto is like here, I don’t want to do damage lol… if I ever do a mixup with that assist and you don’t feel confident blocking it, might as well get hit by agamatto first since I’ll only do like 200k off of it lol
I’m really liking Vergil too though. Don’t really get his assists but he feels a little better than Dante to me. Dante’s assists are much better though.
Sure thing.
Kris might be joking but it’s true. State had this magic power of drawing people in. People are scared of my place or something lol.
Damn, well, I’ll take over driving then, right now it’s me and Brent, anyone else in RDU want in?
I’m thinking… I was gonna take Aaron (ShinsoBEAM) in my car, but if you got 2 open spots, maybe we can just ride with you? I would still have to get in contact with Aaron though if it’s cool that we come with you and all…
Yeah if you guys can meet me at my place then it’s not an issue. Was shooting to pick brent up between 10-11, so if you guys get to my place around 10:30 and I get Brent at 11 with you guys, that’d be perfect.
Sounds good I’m bringing my friends copy of Catherine for 360 and a save file if people want to get bodied ;), as well as the PS3 copy of AH3 just in case. What is the policy on renting 360 pads at elite zone?
I can come out. I got KOF13 too right now and another copy on Tuesday. Really wanna learn from someone experienced so sitting down with that would be good. My friend Dustin/Muaythai has the same ideas too we wanna get going in this game.
Also I would say the Netcode is around SF4 level in my opinion. It was definitely better than the first MVC3. This was my experience with it on a 3 bar.
I heard the netcode in kof13 was the same as it was in 12. SF4’s netcode is okay. But the way how SF4 engine is (slow as fuck, big reversal windows), it’s playable. I’ve never played KoF, so I can’t chime in much, but I do know that KoF12 netplay was shitty.
