There’s no way to really do that now. The trick is you actually can’t keep updating and tweaking the game. 2 of the most balanced games in terms of truly playable characters came out in the mid 90’s (ST and XvSF).
If you don’t like how a game is changed, find something else to play. There’s enough choices out there, this isn’t the PS2 Dark Ages. Next year we’re getting even better choices.
Oh, and if balanced= boring, then Arcana would be fairly boring (it seems reasonably balanced to me though I suck at the game) . So blame boring on shit game designers.
I’ll give Apology Edition a chance because it’s free, but it’s already at best 4th on the list of things I want to play next year.
I kinda thought that’s what people liked about the current MK, or are people hating that it’s getting so many updates? i thought even the people that don’t play MK thought it was neat that the top 8 at EVO was diverse.
At one point Arcana 3 was really balanced but I heard the tiers have been updated. I can’t find the new list.
I should clarify it and say Capcom. The MK thing is kinda a double edge sword as well. I love the fact that they care that much to continuously update and fix the game but at the same time its hard to learn the game because they are constantly changing it. For the most part, I haven’t heard too many complaints on what MK is fixing so I’m assuming that its going over well. I can’t really comment on it too much because I haven’t played it enough, I have had a real problem with Capcom doing this. The Sentinel nerf, Captain America’s Shield Slash infinite, AE, etc… When Capcom does udpates it just seems like they throw caution to the wind and just say, “people are complaining…we’d better nerf the hell out of this shit.”
There are some idiots out there (and yes,they’re idiots) who hate on the fact that NRS decided to improve their game. I don’t like MK all that much, but I got mad respect for NRS for being humble enough to admit their mistakes and improve.
That said, 1.00 MK9 had HUGE problems that not even MVC3 1.00 had.
And LOL at ST being called a balanced game by today’s standards.

You just have to be patient and take your time. I would stay mostly defensive till you get meter for Aegis. She’s one of the easiest characters to do unblockables on. The fight isn’t in your favor obviously. You just have to make good reads. You know what she wants to do. Also, no fireballs when she has meter…she can super on reaction to them and through them. Oh yeah, if you block SA2, you have to parry the last hit I think or you can’t punish it.

The arcana’s I think are far less balanced then the characters, sacred being a piece of turd, and ones like plant,time,wind,dark being absurdly good on everyone.
Yeah, pretty much what ShinsoBEAM said, the characters are well balanced. The arcana themselves maybe not, but there are really only about 3 or 4 really weak ones (imo).
Actually Arcana 3.01 (console / newest arcade update) has stayed pretty consistent. There’s yet to truly be dominant character in this game (even including Fire Elsa who has yet to make top 4 in a major).
