Actually you don’t even have to jump. Charge down, let it go to neutral, standing mp, up + 2p
I talked to Shiki earlier in the week so I’ll most likely be riding up there with him.
How is 3SO? I can’t buy it yet as I have A LOT of dead systems to replace first.
People are talking about input lag on the PS3 version which i’m going to say is bullshit until proven because as usual when people complain about something nobody is backing it up with hard facts or data which means it’s technically a theory or an opinion. It feels fine to me, as a game it’s filled with many extra features that the collection on PS2 didn’t have. Definitely worth 15 dollars.
Also even then it’s just an opinion but I have a friend that’s played 3S since release non stop basically in California and he said offline there doesn’t seem to be any problems.
Yeah basically unless you’ve been playing 3S with an undying passion since the arcade cabinet I’ve been ignoring all complaints. Most of the people who are playing 3S now are SFIV players and another percentage are people who played/messed around with the PS2 version. I’ve heard there are some differences between the arcade cabinet version and the anniversary collection version. 3SO is suppose to be “arcade perfect,” so unless you were playing in tournaments or at least competitive when it was in a cabinet don’t start posting opinions as facts due to personal lack of knowledge of the game.
EDIT: Not directed at you or anything AC, just mainly agreeing with you.
i think people were taking fubarduck’s input lag comment seriously because he owns an arcade and has been playing 3S on cabinet for years…but people’s response was basically “why didn’t this come up at EVO?”

3s was before my time but as far as credible sources go, I don’t think you are going to find many more credible than fubarduck in the U.S.
And it was brought up at EVO. People complained about lag but it was attributed to the setups and not the game itself. I’m not saying one way or the other because I don’t play.
Fubarduck is the exception, but I don’t want to hear all these SFIV and next gen fighting game players complaining about the game. I did read some of Fubarduck’s comments and he did say that the “360 timing offline feels very similar to arcade.” Figured that would be the case since the only thing that runs perfect or close to it happens to be on 360 except for Tekken.
i wasn’t saying that he was right or wrong, I was just trying to explain why people were taking his comments seriously (and it makes sense). i never really played 3S, just a little bit of NG, so to me, the difference doesn’t matter…since it’s all basically new to me anyway.
I’m pretty sure there were multiple complaints during EVO for the 3SO booth having massive input lag.
But I think people are only experiencing the lag because it’s an arcade game ported onto a PS3 + 2 frame USB PS3 input delay + 2-4 frames on whatever nonCRT setup they’re using.
I’m playing the trial version 3S on 360. I can confirm it’s fucking perfect on the Evo monitor. I don’t feel any input delay whatsoever.
Word. Add me if any of you are playing 3sOE on the yblock270
I don’t get all the frame data being thrown out. 2 frames for this? 3 frames for that? PS3 to HDTV vs 360 to PS3 to CRT? There are hardware tests that can be done to prove exact lag vs “this feels laggy.” And I wouldn’t confirm something without some numbers behind it. I’ve heard people complain about lag on the big CRT at Lucky’s before because it “feels laggy.” We also had people play on big ass HDTVs and CRTs and not be able to tell the difference. I wanna see an actual test. There are people out there with the equipment for it.
That said, I already have it for PS3 and will get it for 360 tonight. I’ll see how it feels to me.
I didn’t play enough 3s to base an exact opinion on lag but…
Personally, I think this is going to be the exact same thing as when SF4 (first version) came out. There were plenty of people who felt the delay on the PS3 version (including myself), and others who didn’t feel it, and said it was impossible due to the 1 hundredth of a frame (or whatever number) what videos had shown. But in the end, the game was still playable, even if you noticed the difference… because it’s obviously so slight that half the community doesn’t even notice it.
I’m almost positive this is the same case here. And if so, this difference shouldn’t deter anyone from playing the game (nor should you complain, especially if you play SF4), cuz you’ve been playing in this same lag for the past 3 years.
edited, lol…
i guess that’s the thing, Seth already said they tested for it…but I don’t know what the “debug tools” exactly do.
i dont want to hear all these new players complaining either
So this week I’m not doing a regular gathering BUT, THURSDAY I am opening my doors for MK practice, with MLG coming up. If you play MK and want to level up, or are planning on attending MLG, please stop by! Lemme know if you’re interested. We’ll start this one at 6:00.
If I don’t get any responses by tomorrow I’ll probably cancel it though, so stay tuned.
This is pretty much my opinion on these things. I agree 100% to this. I’ve heard of people saying the CRTs at EZ lag which is pretty lulz to me.
Yo Ed. Get back to me if you can. Trying to see what’s up with ya. Need to holla at you about some things. Be easy. you may have better luck emailing me or calling my home number. My cell vm box is always full.
pretty major typo… I meant shouldn’t. :V
