But no really, it probably works but my dumb ass left it in Greensboro. I trust Lucky, though. I’m taking Hector’s word for it that he’s really reputable. But at the same time the outlets were basically really ass and maybe couldn’t provide enough power to the PS3? I know he had an iPod charger plugged in and working, but those give like 100 volts max, ps3’s need 240 minimum or something.
Now that that’s done I can complain some more: I got blown the fuck up for free lmao, I feel legitimately sorry for everyone that beat me, went to winners, and essentially played towards… their refund. I appreciate the tips from everyone, Trykt and SeasofCheese are bros, and Bojangles is free to my stomach. Fun, then rapidly shitty first tournament, not because of the people or the way it was run (everything WAS getting done), just the fact shit broke.
TL;DR: Fun meeting people, fun getting blown up, shitty that Lucky’s got blown up by electricity.

so…what exactly happened at Lucky’s. i guess i assumed it was a storm, but it sounds like a circuit tripped or something? we did lose power here in raleigh, but from storms.
i thought i should mention this, but for the ppl that lost a system, if you have renter’s insurance or home owner’s insurance, they might cover it. always worth asking…

So, I just got back today from Hickory. I had a pretty good time. I heard you guys had a not so good time today. I’m really sorry about that, and I hope everything works out with your systems. Hopefully we can all get together soon.

Edit: Okay it’s been bothering me being the cheap fucker I am. I can only imagine Xrii gave any leftover pot to Lucky, and good thing I live 2 minutes from that shop.
PS3 takes 120V, which is what everything in your home uses except a few heavy appliances (washer/dryer, maybe some kitchen machines).
Sorry to hear about the power surge. I was going to show up in the evening but got KOed by lack of sleep.
Just thought of something- I think it might be a good idea if we chipped in next time at Lucky’s and got some surge protectors. Wouldn’t cost that much, (maybe what $50 total), and would keep people’s stuff from breaking if this happens again.

On a more serious note we replaced MvC3 grand finals with rock/paper/scissors (requires the same amount of skill) and I beat Aaron Brooks 5-1. We hard large side bets $5 between Tom and James, it was like Sandford Kelly vs Duc Do all over again.
So I’m wondering from you RDU cats, what venues have you guys seen around for tournaments in the area? We really need to make something happen out here.

The only one I can think of was what I mentioned a while back after the hotel incident, which was Ruagamer or however it’s technically spelled. I feel it could turn out the same as EZ that as long as they see we have numbers and we take care of everything then they would realize the profit they’d make. Someone charismatic would have to go set all that up and see if they can make anything happen though.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I should get Jos to do it, he seems like a good salesman haha
