also CORNER-TRAP: I have discussed the idea with a few of the major players in the Tekken community and this coming saturday at EZ, we are thinking of making Tekken a $10 game. We’ve got Myrtle Beach and Columbia coming along with Charlotte so we have the numbers. Lets make this pot worth it.

I’m looking for sessions to go to next week. I’m pretty busy these days now so if you’re having a session I’ll be there a little late, but I’ll be there for sure if there is anyway possible for me to get there. I know Tekken is going on Saturday (unless otherwise) but I’ll be out of town that day so unless I’m back up in Raleigh that night if things go south for me I won’t be there. The rest of the week I should be good, which means I’ll be at the Monday session. Looking for people doing stuff on the other days. If Garret is hosting again next Friday will definitely come out for that, but if not will greatly need a ride up to EZ that day.
Also, looking for people who are going to the EZ tournament from/near the Raleigh area and people who are going to the RESE tournament from/near the Raleigh area. I’m trying to get out to whatever tournaments I can so if you don’t mind giving me a ride that would be awesome. I don’t mind pitching in for gas either.
And just to add a little more unfortunately my laptop was screwed up so I had to take it back and see about getting a new one. Whenever I do get it was gonna try setting up my cap card and recording some matches at sessions and tournaments. If I can get to a session early one day I might just haul in the desktop, but otherwise will have to wait until I get my laptop. I don’t know who has the Youtube accounts for some of the earlier stuff, but I probably will just go ahead and create a new account and post the vids up there. If its something like a session where there is just too much video I’ll just make a montage of it all and post that up. Anyways, later and thanks in advance.

I honestly think MK should be $10 too. (If it’s not already) It’s going to be especially big this time with all of SC coming.

Tekken 6 had 15 at Lucky’s, and that was without SC or the other RDU players who have confirmed attendance for EZ. And most of the players coming from other areas are also going to play MK, so IMHO I think not only will there be at least 16 for each game, but you may have more.
Why does it matter? It’s an EVO main game, and making it 5 dollars does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE for the tournament at all.
Seriously, what reason at all is there to make it 5 dollars? What does it do for the players other than make the pot smaller?
Did anyone ever complain about this stuff at Lucky’s? I thought the standard for years was that if a tournament had small entrants then it was labeled as a minor game. What’s with all the fuss now? I don’t really have a problem with them being $10 if everyone in attendance agrees, I just find this new development weird since this has never been a complaint before to my understanding. With this kind of logic shouldn’t every game just be listed as a major then?

The point of making games 5 bucks is to make it more appealing to people getting into a game, but with this amount of turnout we may get, it warrants the price increase. And yes, every complaint about Lucky’s under the sun has been said, I promise.

Well since y’all are pretty much guaranteeing large turnouts for T6 and MK we can boost them up to major games. As for the other minor games I’m not so sure.
I think i might start playing tekken, the new tekken tag looks fun.
Well, there’s people from all around NC that can definitely help you out in that department, just gotta find the right person to ask. I’ve been starting to help newcomers around the Charlotte area who want to learn the game. Since it’s only $20 and the upcoming titles (Tekken Tag 2 and Street Fighter x Tekken) are going to use a similar combo system, might as well pick it up and try it.
Finally got PI5 working on sticks after days of input config issues. Great game, too. Too bad it may never get a home release even in JP.
As in Power Instinct? There was a 5? The last one I remember was Matrimelee. I bought that one on homecart and I got the EX version when it was released on PS2 a few years ago.
Tournaments were dropped to 5 dollar entry fees to increase entrants…but that never, ever happened. Name me one game that gained a significant number of entrants after its entry fee was reduced. The idea is that people will enter if it’s cheaper, but what actually happens is that people see that it’s cheaper and say “Why should I put effort into this game when the reward isn’t going to ever be as large as this other game?” 5 dollar entry was simply a nice way of telling someone that their game was on the way out. If you don’t lose half of your entrants, then it’s still a bigger pot for the players at 10 dollar entry.
PS2 games should be 5 dollars; that’s about as far as I’m willing to negotiate.

Yes that. And normally I wouldn’t make too much noise about a dumped title, but in this case there is no release announced and the game is in danger of slipping through the cracks.
