All of the threads before the last few used to have custom titles (and with roman numerals). I think most people got tired of the inside jokes that 3-4 people would “get,” so the last few threads have gone back to basics. I don’t know if they’re archived or anything, but you can probably go back and find old thread titles, some were really out there.

“Third Strike Hipsters, OGs, and new fags”
I made a thread and took it out cause I got sick of it, and the next thread Will made and followed suit. Witty one-liners? Really? On SRK? NONE OF THE THREADS have witty one-liners. 99% of the thread creators wouldn’t recognize wit if it bit them in the ass and that’s the problem. None of it is witty and most of them are unfunny enough that they could be said in a prime time sitcom on basic cable accompanied with a laugh track and no one would be able to tell the difference.
Roman Numerals are cool, because it means even if we have a bunch of dumbasses like every other state, we can prove by our thread title that we have at least ONE person that isn’t. I like my bad jokes but you guys know why I say them and it’s all in good fun. Outsiders looking in will just think that we’re morons, much like I think the other title makers are.

So you really did miss the sarcasm. I’m one of the better players in the state, yes. Do I think I’m better than everyone outside of games? Not at all. What I do think though is that for lunch I’ll cook me up some of those dead deer carcases in my freezer out back; the ones with my katana scars all over their flesh.
I guess you also missed the memo that sarcasm doesn’t work without tone.

TBH, I don’t think they really put that much thought into the titles. I don’t really care what people use as the thread honestly. I like the shorter names just because they are easier to spot in a pile of threads.
Really? The title is what would make us look like morons? As opposed to the substantial amount of bullshit that’s actually IN the thread?

Lately, I’ve been finding thread by the troll face, because that’s how I really feel like whenever I come to read this thread.
3s hipsters lol yeah I dunno, you run into that kinda mentality everywhere. Counterstrike source vs 1.6 players for example. I just phase it out, but what I don’t get is why new players are hated on so much by the old players. EVEN more than so in the old days. I can understand if its someone that came on to a forum or showed up and started acting a fool, but if they are actually interested in playing fighting games, they get the same amount of hostility. I do agree that tournaments in the older days were tests of endurance lol. I’ve been to VA several times and those were always late nighters and I was at that final round where it was held in a goddamn basketball gym and sleeping on floors ugh, I won’t miss that aspect ever.
I say we keep the roman numerals because I wanna see if someone slips up again and puts the wrong number.

I’m working on something here @ the beach in terms of a session involving a couple kegs. Unlimited alcohol w/ an entry fee of diapers. Yes… diapers. This is in response to my lady getting a baby shower and me wanting to do something too (I’m a tad jealous). So, I’m pooling all of my money together for a venue, booze and all day and night sessioning to celebrate the baby. Looking at something like end of September or middle of October.

Jon, don’t be a dick. This place is for everyone and anyone who enjoys playing fighting games. It looks bad when new players check into SRK for the first time and they see that shit. :\
