If you get off at 5PM you can definitely make those Monday tournaments. Registration is at 5 the actual tournament doesn’t start until 6.

I’ma try and show up today at EZ, I have class every Friday from 1-4:50 in Charlotte and you know its about a 3 hours drive there so…if Im not dumb tired i’ll show up and see whats going on.
Blanka is a character that gets shut down when you know the matchup. That hilariously easy rushdown is just hilarious against someone that knows what they’re doing. It takes a lot of work to win with him at high levels. He’s very shennanigan heavy and his normals are to be laughed at when compared with true rushdown characters. His rolls got nerfed, the hop has increased recovery, and his slide that “stays active forever” is a guaranteed ultra punish with focus attack. Have fun with him if you really plan to pick him up.
Not entirely sure which one but I know it’s either “Bears Yodel Over Coffee” or “Bring Your Own Controller”.
EDIT: @OJ - Yea it looks like his specials outside of electricity really suck and his game is limited, although I do like his potential pressure game. The slide is a good counter but not good for entry it seems. Like I said James obviously knows the matchup and when I played him it was lights out - but Blanka is fun.
I’ve also learned a valuable lesson in fighting games. If there is a char I’m having a hard time against - pick them up and play them. Helps tremendously in matchup knowledge.
Just keep experimenting man, I played Akuma in Vanilla and midway through Super. After that I just started messing with other characters to learn the matchups and I fell in love with using Rose lol.
I don’t think he is gimmick-heavy unless you play him that way. His normals are also insanely good. Very few characters have such a complete set of normals. For example: cr.strong for AA, st.strong is a great poke along with cr.fierce. Slide got a huge buff, st. fierce has a great hitbox and stuffs a lot of characters normals clean.
He is just the most unorthodox character. Between ball, slide, and hop, he can get around almost anything you can throw at him. Add that stuff to a goofy hitbox, unique wakeup animation and timing AND a 4f 500 dmg Ultra…
