Really though, I need to figure out what’s going on. There’s some stuff I want to test that I think lag was eating. If anyone cares, Nick and I fought 80 or so matches and then we did a 2/3. We had a double KO at 42-42 that was hype and then he beat my ass. His Sagat is getting serious.
Yeah. So we only need to stay four nights. Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night. This means we’ll be around on Thursday and Monday and it saves people money. If some folks want to stay another day, I imagine we can work that out but right now I’m looking at the minimum necessary so people can afford it.
Like always, the discount they have lined up won’t be as good as finding something by shopping around online. Yesterday, I found that we could book Thursday for $50, Friday and Saturday for $85 or so each and Sunday night for free. The $30/extra person fee is BS, no one’s paying that. Some people are going to have like 7 people in their room, no way they’re shelling out an extra $200 just so their friends can crash. The thing Evo has set up charges more for a queen room whereas on other sites online you wouldn’t have to specify between view/beds and probably be able to pay the cheaper price and ask for queens at checkin.
Prices on these things vary a lot, you have to catch it at the right time…and flying on certain days is cheaper. It doesn’t have to be $350. The more expensive options I was looking at yesterday were $270. I don’t want people scared by a figure like $600 -just- for going to play. It didn’t even cost me and Matt that much last year and there were just two of us.

Yo, I think I learned more playing you yesterday, than my whole career of playing sf4. No joke.
Possibly we can make a thread and get most of NC out to Evo this year. We can stay as an entire group with the flight and hotel and divide the pay evenly. This can happen if we organize our stuff early.
So yeah, apparently the PS2 port for Arcana sucks balls. Slowdown and music skips ahoy.

Do they say if its because the system just can’t handle the game or is it because the disc can’t load data fast enough? Because I remember you guys talking about load times on AH1 that I never encountered when I tested the game running off my hard drive.
From what I’ve read it lags like hell everytime you super, along with LONGER load times than the first game.
The load times are long, which could probably be fixed by running the game from the HD. But I’m betting the slowdowns (which occur during supers or anything with tons of effects) are attributed to it being just too much game for the PS2 to handle.
Okay, I just read that there’s some screen tearing when you do something too big and too flashy, like completing a hand with Dorothy. Apparently the background glitches up and the PS2 grows a fist and physically punches you in the face. Okay, so maybe not that last part, but I’m sure it wants to.

Yeah guys, EXAMU REALLY dropped the ball on this port…it’s literally worse than the AH1 port in EVERYWAY. I’ll give you the rundown on the problems I got so far:
-Load times are longer AHF! unless you’re using a HD loader I assume.
-It lags…a lot. During supers, arcana supers, while airdashing, homing canceling, during win poses, etc…it’s like playing online.
-Control setting matches AHF! so it will be a real bitch setting controls during tournaments.
-It loads after EVERY MATCH when you “retry”, luckily you can skip the vs. screen this time around.
-Training mode sucks ass just like it did in AHF.
-Music skips whenever it lags.
- Timer still exist on the character select screen.
-Simply this game wasn’t meant to be on the PS2…it could BARELY handle AHF! half the time…AH2 isn’t cutting it.
I’ll still play it…but man I’m VERY VERY VERY dissapointed in EXAMU. Way to fuck people up, EXAMU. Way to fuck people up.
The screen starts tearing whenever there’s too many stuff going on. Like the game runs perfectly fine EXCEPT someone decides to homing cancel, super, or constant airdashing then it goes to all hell.
Even with all the glitches…I can still do Elsa’s wind relaunch.
