you’re*
jokes r teh funni.
Do I not use enough smilies to indicate that 99% of the stuff out of my mouth is rubbish? :looney::looney::looney::looney::looney::looney::looney::looney::looney::looney::looney::looney:
maybe that helps.
jeez guys chill. Yeah i’m an 09 poster, so what? i’ve lurked these forums off and on now for yeeeeears. sorry my e-peen isn’t as big as you doodz. But seriously, I love you guys. You make me miss posting on forums and inadvertantly stirring the pot.
Guys need to calm down. Anger shortens your lives. Won’t live to see SFV if it ever comes out at this rate.
I’m not calling NC trash. Far from it. I’ve bounced from scene to scene and we’ve produced some of the most top notch players across all sorts of games. (i previously came from the DDR community)
Please tell me I can joke and don’t have to be uber serious 100% of the time.
If people got mad at my poke at “player tiers” then shiiiiit…I got nothing to say to that. If i’m trying to get a valid point across you’ll know it. If i’m trying to joke and be funny, you’ll know it. But if I make a joke and it gets a page full of comments from a bunch of people who got their knickers in a knot then…arn’t we kinda missing the point? i love to debate buuuuut…seriously?
Also Shiki, thanks for not taking me seriously…I guess?
I think the point was you can’t make generalized statements when you haven’t played the majority of us in the games we take seriously. That being said, this state has produced many players that have placed in top 8 in several games across many major tournaments.
On a more serious note…
Due to the current ummm…“situation” at my house I am now living with three girls. Yes, that’s right guys, real living breathing girls. :wow:
Problem is though that I havn’t touched a fighting game since the ACM tournament. Two of the girls sleep together just on the other side of the door and they turn in very early. The clicks of my arcade stick would keep them awake so…i’m getting no play time in whatsoever. May turn up for Luckys and bring along some gear for casual play…but as far as playing seriously…unless I get some hours in I may not enter the tourney.
Part of the reason i’ve been posting so much as of late. Can’t play SF4.
It’s cool though. I might get a wild hair up my ass and enter anyway.
I understand that. I know a lot of people here are good. But if people are getting bent out of shape over a joke then maybe they need to re-evaluate how seriously they take their games.
It’s all about having fun.
I try to make people do this -
not this -
But anyways…let’s give the “quote” button a rest for tonight guys.
Problem is that it’s hard to tell the difference between being serious and joking when you’re typing on a forum board. Humor just doesn’t go through well in text.
It’s funny, because I understood perfectly what he was saying all along.
I also don’t have a problem making jokes in text format, either.
Maybe instead you shouldn’t get bent out of shape until you get to know someone???
Because reading between the lines is a hell of a lot easier once you actually know the person?
It’s cool guys…it’s cool.
People will get to know me all in due time. :lovin:
I know i’m posting a lot but i’d rather jump in head first into a community rather than sit on the sidelines and post like…once a week and only show up for one tourney and people not know who I was. Also not much else to do when I have no money, my truck broke down, and I have a gimpy leg. (which is getting better btw)
I see this as a chance to meet new people and possibly make some new friends.
I mean…isn’t that part of the reason these forums exists? What better way to meet people you can click with than through games you like to play? I’m here to meet people in the area who like SF4 and maybe get some games going on the weekends or whenever. And hey, if any friends come from that, then cool. The more the merrier.
btw, the names Adrien.
What the hell just happened? I was trying to foster gameplay discussion and then this shit popped up? Okay.
I guess my main qualm really is why people aren’t embracing the new shit that everyone is going to play.
:lovin:
Sorry I was tired on the way back and slightly bummed at my performance. I think I was a little too aggressive in the point I was trying to make when we first started driving so apologies to you, Dez, and Tom. I hope you guys got what I was trying to say, as I wasn’t trying to offend anyone (don’t know that this really even happened but I wanted to apologize if it did).
 Yo, I’d definitely like to get some offline matches before the tournament starts going. It’d really be good to get up Friday and session but I don’t know if that could happen.
2-2 in SF4 teams, Tom got 3rd and I got second in 3rd Strike. DP had some nailbiters.
Concerning the tier thing, yeah, it’s going to be damn near impossible to take Ryu to a major win because you’re going to need to outplay just about everyone. But part of that in my opinion is developing a playstyle to sway those numbers a little more in your favor. I guess this is more of what I’m getting at as well.
DO IT. This would be entertaining. Also, FREE THAT MAN.
Are you serious man? Should we have been expected to read between the lines without knowing him or take the statements as actual opinions since we don’t know him (ie what happened)?
Whatsup man?
It’s always good to have someone new in the scene. Hope you make it out to the tournament. Really, you came about the introduction a little odd and I think you’ll be surprised come tournament time.
KNUCKLEDUST TOM: I left my DS in the back of the passenger seat and my book in the back too. If you come to the tournament, please bring them. I’m 99.8% on that damn game. Thanks man, and thanks again for driving. Good shit up there.
Nah, not at all it’s just that when I say someone’s cool it would be nice if people actually listened to me for once.
:wonder:
Hey Roski, do you know Adam Kirby by any chance?
Big dude…looks like an IRL Hugo. Used to work at Aladdins Castle in Winston?
We were talking on AIM about SF4 and he mentioned you. Was just wondering if you guys knew each other?
Why does the name Adam Kirby sound familiar to me…?
It’s cool, Fuzzy.
NGBC? Why not?
Man I wish people wouldn’t talk like NC is never going to be good or that tiers don’t matter because of this or that. NC is strong. Tiers do matter in almost every level of play in most games to some degree. Nah they’re not important to discuss really since we all know whats up but in the end its good to know who is strong and who isn’t. I play video games to compete and if I like a strong character I am going to play them. If you’re really playing to win and care about victory, playing a weak character will just frustrate you.
Anyway, as long as we stick with it and strive to get better every day, we WILL be a force.
Roski: in regards to st.HK, yeah you could whiff punish it if the sagat isn’t throwing it out in the right situations, but most good players aren’t going to just be standing there whiffing moves. I mean I get what you’re saying and trying to be constructive, and I agree with the mentality that if you know what’s coming, even if it’s a strong move, you should be able to beat it, but it’s undeniable that strong tools do make a difference in a match. He can still shut out a lot of your options with it easily. It’s like saying “well why don’t you just jump over the tiger shots?”. If only it were that easy =P
Also, after all of this talk I’m just going to play Sagat now. Fuck trying to have fun, I’m just trying to not go 0-2 this weekend again…
Tiger x n ftw
Hell yeah join the boat face. I’m actually having fun playing Sagat though, I guess I do like the character after all, haha.
I feel like everything I do pays off more with him. I also can’t blame my losses on anything but myself if I lose. I think everyone in NC should drop their character and play sagat. One of us has to win a major, lol.
Man after watching Jap Fei Long vids though…I kinda wanna keep playing him. This dude is a beast http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6545175
I figured as much, and I think your point of view is completely valid.
I really want to make a big post on my thoughts on SFIV but in short, I like it but not as much as games that I fully understand and know to be good games. There are too many lame suprises and tactics in SFIV right now for me to be super excited about playing it. But I’m sure things will change over time. You can bet though that I’ll eventually be shutting things down with any character that I play.
One of the reason I like to play the characters of less convenience, is that it’s much more skillfull and impressive than if I’m cranking out pile drivers, tiger shots, low jab, etc. Not to say those characters or players who have those options are skill-less, it’s that the characters just don’t seem as skillfull to my taste of what I like fighting games.
In my view, it is lame how it’s currently the way to fight Gief is to lame him out, get a life lead, and run the clock. I can deal with a Sagat, so not really any complaints here. Balrog I don’t have a problem with so much either. Blanka isn’t so much a problem any more. Bison can whore out devil’s reverse and that’s dumb.
I think we all should play offline more. Online is good for learning. Offline is x amount of times better.
Is NC hosting any kind of ranking battles for SFIV over the summer?
Someone needs to order a bunch of Inpin converters and sell them to the people who don’t have PS3 sticks. Maybe I’ll do this…
We will have ranking battles for SFIV. Once a month or twice or month? Or the each month have one small tournament and then one larger one with the ranking battle like we did last summer?
actually Sagat could just feint it too and bait punishing the whiff lol
