Personally…I like ST more than I do 3s. In 3s…I like Urien…not the game in general. I like ST simply b/c you can play theory fighter while playing it IMO.
X Gief?
Not true frank.:wgrin:
He’s talking about HD Remix.

And I quote:
“The kick lariat is the same as ST except it has a different sound effect and the feet are invulnerable during the first rotation only.”
Perfect example of baiting a dragon punch…I just bet my self lunch that you would post and ignore the smiley face.
Their talking about HD…duh?
VolcanicVipaaaaa…SaiSyu watches BOF fly over the buliding.
J/K internet argument dodging maneuver!!!
Jon: I was actually fighting a Fei with Cammy a good bit yesterday. You can stop hooligan by anything that will hit her man, DP, normal, whatever. I couldn’t really give you any good match information from that experience though 'cause the guy was constantly dropping rekkas and doing fire kick way too much/easily baited. It shouldn’t be that bad of a match for you though.
But I don’t know much anything about this game
lol ok whatever
Way to troll. You’re worthless.
SF4 is fucking beautiful! I’m getting to like it more after playing for 6 hrs. Wished they didn’t show ryu’s face as the first pic of the game, what a turn off. Ryu/Ken are the worst looking character in the game, the rest looks/animates amazingly. Rose is fucking cheap, Gen is technical as hell (thinking about making him my main), Sak is always good, god I miss her Sho sho sho so bad. When I was playing through arcade mode, random online challenges coming from Japan would interrupts the fight, and it fucking lag like hell… Make sure yall turn that shit off when u get your copy. Now waiting for KOF12…
You can’t really spam Hooligan. Short cannon drills set up the hooligan quite nicely though, it makes a bit of a guessing game.
I see the point about multiple characters, but there’s also the point that learning multiple characters in a game like ST is nowhere near the same as GG/VF.
That’s why GG/VF system of balance works for those games…each character is so deep and unique, and the game mechanics are so complex that you SHOULD be rewarded for mastering one character.
In ST, most characters are actually really simple to pick up and play. Mastery of characters instead requires experience, timing, and just plain outthinking your opponent man-to-man. The characters are so classic and simple that there’s no real initial learning curve…you just dive straight into battle and learn the strengths and weaknesses of each character (and more importantly) each human player you come in contact with.
Amen brother.
Such a hater. ShamWow FTW!
O.
Yeah that’s what they were doing, and I really couldn’t beat short cannon drill with anything I had, so I was playing really defensive, so then they started mixing in hulligan which was pretty hard to react to online, especially considering the startup to me looks somewhat similar to cannon drill so by the time I realized it was a throw it was always too late.
I dunno her pokes just seemed better to me than Fei’s.
Beat the hell out of his boxer though so that matchup can’t be too bad for fei, since someone mentioned it earlier.
The counter to short cannon drill: Jump straight up and punish it hard on the way down. That can be countered with her DP though. Her pokes are better then Fei’s.
I think people underestimate Cammy heavily. She does have a way to beat Honda, though it’s boring as hell.
She doesn’t seem all that bad, seeing a good player play her. I just imagine she suffers vs fireballs. HEY KINDA LIKE HALF THE OTHER CHARACTERS.
Certain Fireballs: Are Certain
Okay, so since when do Yun and Yang talk in tandem?

Also, Guile sounds like Orson Welles…in a porno.
RUN IT BACK!!! I raise you one sammich (that’s “sandwich” for the non-Ebonics speakers).
In other news:
Rose is cheap you say?! (Rubs hands like Mr. Burns from The Simpsons) …yesss.
-Q
I know a couple of really good Cammy mains who would HIGHLY disagree with you on that one. (the part about cammy being able to beat honda anyways)
Jon - From what i know about cammy strats: If she is doing max range short cannon drills they are safe. You cannot out poke a max range cannon drill because you will just lose and get knocked down. Your best options are either A. block and try to get your own chip damage with safe rekkas or B. Dragon the drill if she gets to easy to read. Likewise, she can dragon your rekka attempts if you do that every time you block a drill. Playing online I would say just block because the cammy will get impatient and eventually do something unsafe like hooligan or a jump in (which you can easily punish). Hooligan gets beat out by everything, so if you see a hooligan you can mash standing jab and knock her out of it every time. Just try to get used to looking for that move when a cammy gets frustrated. Everything here is just IMO though, so you should think about it and try it out for yourself and see what you come up with. Try talking to garret also because he plays that match - up a lot probably considering he plays fei against austin’s cammy. werd.
Also, on a separate note, probably not a good idea to judge match-ups off of online matches
EDIT: I just thought of one more thing. Cammy’s low forward is godlike so she can counter your rekkas with that move as well. I don’t know how fei’s chicken wing affects things either. Remembering this leads me to believe that you should just learn what beats what and stuff in the game and you’ll probably figure it out by yourself, haha.
dude your playing the ps3 version online…what did you expect…thanks for posting about st4 though its interesting to hear…
i see alot of talk about hd remix so where is everyone playing each other… i wanna see some of these theories like cammy can’t beat honda…
oh and ed when you havin another session… I feel the world warrior in me returning
Anyone going to the SC4r gathering that is in theory. . existent this weekend that doesn’t post on 8WR. .
ride is needed. .
I didn’t say that the matchup was in her favor, it’s still 7-3 in Honda’s favor. There is a way though- it’s not the 10-0 match everyone thinks it is.
