Vids or…
You know the rest
It was my Rose vs his ass Seth ._.
I saved the replay, but if he used Viper instead I prob would’ve gotten my ass handed to me.
Playing Mortal Kombat…Coming from MvC3 and SSF4 this game seems so slow and crappy.
Agreed on that one.
I think my time would be better used learning
My first impression of MK was pretty positive- apart from online not knowing how good/bad the connection is.
Felt like a breath of fresh air. Hopefully it holds up (I have doubts)
I’ll definitely blame it on me not knowing how to play the game really. As of right now I am HIGHLY upset with story mode. Not because of the story itself but because I’ve been playing for what seems like FOREVER!!! >:O Long story short I keep having to fight the same people that I’ve already fought but just with a different person. Just when I thought I beat the game it just keeps going and going…and going…I’m still playing and having to fight two of the same people (on a team now so that makes it so much better) again…Getting frustrating and repetitive.
Apparently you have to grind through that mode for Quan Chi and Cyber Sub-Zero also. Not looking forward to that. Might be a good way to learn the game though.
Awsome. I am really considering adding a character like zero/dante (not either) that has crazy combo ability.
Uhhh…I just wasn’t expecting this. I’ve never had to put hours into a story mode of a fighting game. I’m on match…if I had to guess…like 22. Then you take into account it’s 2 rounds I have to win (went straight into it) and a lot of those matches are 1 on 2 and it’s not like I’m winning all these matches anyways…and tied in with playing people I don’t know anything about. I could understand if it was 1 character then I could get used to his playstyle while I go along.
Edit:
Really…Really!! OMG WTF! So I started playing this around 12 or so…I’ve paused it…ate some food…talked on the phone…worked some…played some more…it’s now about to be 4 and I JUST got an achievement…guess what it’s titled…“Halfway There!”…I want to kill myself…
On Guilty Gear X#Reload for Xbox I recall having to play through every single story path of all the characters or something crazy like that in order to unlock Justice and Kliff
Mortal Kombat is definitely known for it’s story atleast more than most fighting games.
Is there anyone that plays MvC3 in Charlotte?
Wait, don’t you have “Games I play: MvC2” in your sig?
To the other guy: Yes, we play MvC3. Hit us up at UNCC on the weekends.
The reason people didn’t play Alpha 2 Gold had nothing to do with any character or balance.
Plus the zeitgeist of that time was completely different from today.
The scene back then didn’t take kindly to any updates to videogames due to the mindset of “they changed it, now it sucks” and due to backlash for Capcom releasing far too many revisions to the same game.
Nowadays, the scene is all about “ain’t playing that OLD stuff–NEW NEW SHINY SHINY me want”
This isn’t beating the game over and over. This is just one reallllyyy long story by itself that is taking hours in one go round. I wish I had the luxury to get that initial sense of closure. Now I’m just stuck with hours logged in and I can’t save it (to my knowledge, scared to try) so I’m forced to spend more hours on it since I only finished “halfway”. It was like a smack in the face. I was reading a review that said 5+ hours on the story mode but I thought they were being funny…
Downloading Arcana Heart 3 on PSN for 29.99 right now. Go get it if your interested, not a bad price in my opinion.
I’m good now. If you exit it starts back where you left off.
<---- Happy Camper
Where at in UNCC do you guys play? I went there to play smash last weekend in Norms
Ah3 is one long-ass download.
2.7 gigs, yea. It took me about an hour. I’m surprised it was so small though since it could fit on a dvd.
no opinion on competitive MK yet, but having fun just dicking around in story mode and the other modes. i do think the movement is a bit awkward, but honestly didn’t have very high expectations other than some gratuitous violence and a good dose of nostalgia. hard to believe it’s been almost 20 years for me from where it all began…
