Wesker and Vergil have similar looking teleports, but Strider’s ports have essentially the same function, so appearances aren’t as significant. Especially when it comes to combos, the similar appearance doesn’t imply the same character. The point is that in terms of overall strategy and team synergy, I think Strider is more similar to Wesker than Vergil. People are going to be using Strider in the same general spot as Wesker, but he is more versatile of a character as well, so he will probably be in other spots on teams.
Vergil’s DT enhances all of his specials, so in that sense it actually seems more powerful than Dante’s DT. At the very least, it will probably be more important for Vergil in terms of making him a more threatening character.
I might make it out tonight, we’ll see. I’ll probably run Magneto/Dante/Akuma or Wesker/Magneto/Akuma. Might also give my Dante/Trish combo a few more tries, Andre makes that duo look so dumb, especially with Wesker on point.
Mag and the Dog are pretty good together I think. If you can get them to block cold star, they probably aren’t gonna block all the mag shit you can do during that time lol. I’d Akuma or Wesker for the last spot… dog in reflector has some pretty easy unblockables with Wesker (5C call wesker jump cancel air dash j.C). Sentinel would work for that team too.
My only issue with Vergil right now is that he looks like he’s going to be a meter hog. You’re going to have to build your team around him if that’s the case.
My scrub opinion would say that with the supposed buffs that Morrigan got making her an even stronger character that it may be good to have her on a team with Vergil because of the meter building assist. I know i’m definitely interested in running her as a character at the least.

Jon: Dude, thanks for reigniting my MK fire. I can tell that Stryker has become a better character with his buffs too, so I may keep him around lol. I also figured out why the shoulder (Kenshi) keeps hitting me on the ground. I read that there was a dash block nerf so you have to be more careful about how you advance. We will have to test it out though.
also we need to start discussing ReSe carpools guys.

Definitely man, I might have to start playing Castlevania. I got it on the xbox but I never had anyone to play with so I didn’t mess with it a whole lot… plus the characters being so small urked me.
But yeah, MK was fun. Kenshi and Smoke are gonna be my two main focuses now I think. I’ll still use KL for stuff if I can get away with it but he feels way less solid now. The striker was good stuff… god damn anti air kick lol
How are Scorpion or Sub Zero considered? I keep seeing like 20 dollar off deals on the game and keep thinking of picking it up just to have something else.
Scorpion seems really good now. Sub Zero has always been decent but I don’t know much about him TBH.
The low takedown kick being completely safe now really adds to his mixup game and also gives him a safe wakeup option, it’s pretty much what he needed. If you like a strong high low game and resets then Scorpions the way to go. SZ is more zoning and annoyance.
Hey everybody! =p Work has become too hectic for me to really plan on traveling right now and I can’t host anything here consistently (please remove from first post). I’m probably a few weeks away from full-on store manager, at which point we’ll most likely be moving. Still play, just can’t get out too much, and I got that old-man Matt Frank thing happening, though I am catching the bug again. With KOF and a hopefully better Marvel/AE on the horizon, you’ll be seeing me more soon. Would love to get up and have a few beers/games with everyone. Matt, hit me up next time you do something.
